Gang, this experience was rough. For starters, they were super busy with a line that barely moved (both inside and at the sec checkout kiosk). Second, the staff didnt seem very proactive in problem solving some of the issues that arose during our visit. I stepped up to the sec service kiosk and one of the workers was operating it (not so self service). She quickly tapped in my order of 80 postcard stamps and after it started realized that it was individually printing each stamp (with no folding edges). The process of printing each stamp ended up taking 20 minutes!! Keep in mind, this is after I already waited 15 min in line to get to the kiosk. I asked if she had postcard books that she could swap out so we wouldn't have to wait and she laughed and shook it off - "you're going to be here for awhile!". At this point, I was stick after spending nearly $50 on the stamps. I asked another worker who walked by if she could help and she said I'd have to go inside and wait in line (which would require leaving the stamps as they're printing...). Overall, a frustrating experience. It seems that this location could use a little more coaching/improvements. I'll be going elsewhere in the future. read more

Second time in a month I've gone to this PO on a Saturday to send a priority package. They close at 1:00. The first time I arrived at 12:50, entered the lobby and got in line behind 2 other people. At exactly 1 an employee came out and locked the door to the inner lobby with 2 of us still waiting. When asked if we could received service she replied, "No. we close at 1." Thinking it was a fluke, I returned a couple weeks later. I arrived 40 minutes early to find 7 people in the outer lobby and 4 more in the inner lobby. After 35 minutes, an employee said they were closing at 1 and locked the door. Never agin! read more

Its unfortunate i have to recieve my mail through this post office. Their postal workers steal packages. I waited 6 weeks for mail. And when you go to complain the managers tell you they wont help you and its your fauly your mail is missing. The fed needs to take this place over. Never thought I would be a regular post office goer, but my new job has made me one. Located just off of 55th and keystone you'll find this branch of the post office. It's a very clean and well maintained store! The front has several PO Boxes and areas for you to prep packages before you send them out. The inside area is also very well maintained, you can purchase a lot of products as well. The service is incredibly fast! I'm in and out in under five minutes which I think is impressive. Everyone is also very friendly and personable! I come in frequently and they remember me ask how things are going at work, which I think is a nice touch. I'll stay a regular at this location not only because it's geographically close to my office, but I just find every interaction there very pleasant and enjoyable so I'll continue to be a repeat customer. read more

Horrible Post Office with no regard for the people that are forced to use their services. They don't view you as a customer when you need their services. I had an appointment for a Passport application and was called and rudely informed 2 hours prior to my appointment that it had been cancelled. Yolanda said it was because they didn't have staffing. I flew in to Indianapolis for this appointment and I just called back to see if my next appointment would be honored and they said they had no idea if they could honor it. Been having issues with mail that does not belong at my address and not receiving mail that I have previously been receiving without a problem. Called branch at 55th St location and spoke with Nicole and she was very disrespectful and confrontational when all I was trying to do is let it be known of the situation. I don't know why this post office has such a low rating. I've honestly received some of the best service and most friendly smiles from the staff on the counter. I used to sell on ebay quite a bit and found their self checkout kiosk to be extremely convenient, as its available in the lobby after hours and is stocked with boxes. During the holidays, they have the hours, including passport photos posted on the doors. While I was there shipping presents to family, there were plenty of supplies on hand to assist in preparing packages. All options were clearly outlined, and my priority postage chosen got my gifts to Oregon and Arkansas on Christmas eve. Their post office boxes are available in multiple sizes and the lobby is well lit. The drive up mailboxes are clearly marked with pick up times so you can drop your outgoing mail without getting out of your car. Maybe its the fact that my step dad was a mail carrier, but these folks keep on pushing despite the decline in snail mail popularity. As the song goes, 'No matter if its rain or snow, the mail must go through'! We need to appreciate the service that's provided and often taken for granted. read more

I've been going to this post office for over a year now. Although most of the staff are friendly, there are a few that even when there isn't anyone in line and they on their phones will tell me to go use the self service kiosk. If it's busy, I don't mind doing it but when there are no customers what would take me 5ish minutes per package takes them a minute. Today was a case like the others when I was told to use the self serve kiosk and I explained that there was a gentleman who seemed to be fairly confused using it. At least they were nice and someone went out to assist him. Just really would like for people to do what they are being paid for rather than making the customer do their job. This is my local post office so if I need to pick up a package I have no choice. The service is ok, the wait sucks. Today there was a line because there were only 2 employees and 1 was doing passports. I waited about 25 min with only 3 people in front of me. When I finished the line went out the door. The annoying thing was 1 employee who kept coming in to see if anyone had a drop off/pick up/change of address/help using the self serve kiosk. If you're gonna take the time to show people how to use a self serve kiosk can you just open another line for mail?!? The big problem at this post office is the parking. It's a one way lot and there's only about 15-20 spaces... way too small. And narrow, if people wait for a spot you can't get around them. There's often a line of cars on the street to get into the parking lot. It causes a traffic jam on the street which is pretty dangerous cause people who get fed up use the opposite oncoming lane or the side of the road to get around cars. I wouldn't be surprised if this set up causes an accident one day, if it hasn't already. read more

This is a pretty busy location and I'm grateful for the self-serve kiosks so I can get things sent pretty quickly without the hassle of waiting in line, however, there have been multiple times where the drop off receptacle was broken/tied up with caution tape. I don't think it's necessarily just this location, but I find that post office employees are never in any sense of urgency. I'm thankful for the ones who even flash you a smile while helping you but that can be rare sometimes. I did get passport photos taken here over a year ago and that was the only time the USPS worker made personal conversation and was warm and friendly. read more

If I could put a 0 I would the BACON POST OFFICE has one issue a very rude unprofessional clerk that talks to customers in a demeaning manner. I tried to purchase a money order and she kept making me pull my ID back out. Her reason because I'm not supposed to put my ID away after she's looked at it 3 times. I've never had a clerk tell me I can't put my ID away and if this is the case why don't YOU just keep it until the transaction is over. Go to Nora's post office they are always nice and professional. Why isn't there a zero star option?! I showed up on time for my rescheduled passport appointment. The desk girl told me the lady left for her 1 Hour lunch and that they don't take walk ins. A) I WAS NOTTTT A WALK IN!!!! B) I Showed up on time for my SCHEDULED APPT. This place is a joke!!!!!! I was refused service TWICE! I have been in this post office three times now. 2 of the times I had to experience customer service at its lowest. The clerk was disrespectful, on her phone, and not helpful. The professionalism was lacking and acted as if I was bothering her by asking a question. I understand we all have bad days but when a service employee is consistently rude to the customers the company needs to address this. The thing that gives the post office bad ratings is the lack of staff at the counter. I came in here 10 minutes ago with only one person in front of me. I am watching one employee take care of one customer. She is doing her job just right, but there is a lot of things she needs to do. One more person at the counter would have kept the line from growing to 6 people. I am mailing a package to my cousins in California, and I am starting to worry about how much it will be. We hear in the news that the post office is in debt by a couple of billion dollars, but you cannot blame the employees. They can only work so fast and it must be horribly stressing to see a large line form. The staff here is awesome and very friendly. I had no idea this post office existed until I this week. And once I found it and walked inside, it was kind of like a time warp. It was rather dark and musty in the waiting area. There were only two employees working the counter, and one woman off to the side to help out if folks just wanted stamps, which no one did. This post office literally makes me want to pull out my hair every time I visit and have to speak to someone. They are EXTREMELY slow at providing basic service. Lack of staff. Door says they open at 8:30 weekdays - I have been in line outside the door and had someone unlock it at 8:35; and an actual counter person show up at 8:40. More than once. Staff appears disinterested; unmotivated; unhappy; and expert at the slowest walking pace ever. I have been the next person called to the counter to pick up a package; only to be told to go stand in another line at the counter for someone to retrieve the package. If you are physically unable to shuffle back to retrieve packages then you shouldn't be working. I have had a supervisor - Lynette - lie to my face about a missing package; then when confronted again she backtracked to another story. I am always polite because I am their hostage and they know it. I picked up a package that was prominently labeled "FRAGILE" and one entire side of the box was caved in and ripped partially open. When I pointed that out; the older slender walking averse black counter person told me the box was probably damaged when the sender packed it. Certainly. Not. I have also had to argue with counter staff that my package is in fact there - more than once - and every single time I was right. Staff lacks accountability; work ethic; enthusiasm; empathy; promptness; or competency. They appear aversive to the words customer service. I am there fairly often and I stand firm that those characteristics are representative of every single counter person. As a business model it is very clear why USPS loses money. read more

Then after my fourth visit/call tells me I have to wait until my regular driver comes back from vacation so he can investigate it further. Really! This is the post office where my mail is delivered from. They are the worst. I rarely go into the post office itself, but my experience with their delivery service couldn't be worse. Just because your item is on the vehicle for delivery, doesn't mean it will be delivered. I can see them come and go from my house, and on more than one occasion have been home waiting for the package, only to check the website for an updated status and find something like "receptacle blocked". It's hard to know that the receptacle was blocked (which it wasn't) when they never set foot on the property (or walked right by my front door in the process). When they've "had it" for the day or don't feel like carrying the package, they just enter some flimsy excuse and head back without ever attempting delivery. When they do end up leaving the package, more often than not it's at the wrong house in clear sight of any unsavory types who might consider helping themselves. Customer service doesn't even exist in their dictionary. There is no sense of urgency. read more

With a name like BACON street post office, how could you not make this USPS location your center for sending and receiving postage? The post office is kind of hidden in a really strange place, but once you find it for the first time, it becomes very easy to navigate to. The service was fine, about like any post office. We understand that the USPS is hitting really tough times, and really it makes sense that there is usually only two people working the counter, so do expect to stand in line for any amount of time when you go here. It has good hours, but I usually go on Saturday mornings; the line seems to be the same length every time I go. I'd say it's as good as a post office can get. After doing my research on what post office to trust with my mail, I decided on BACON street and wasn't disappointed. It's the closest post office to the Broad Ripple area, so it's convenient in that sense. Buy stamps! Send care packages to your long distance lovers! Mail your mom a Mother's Day card! Don't neglect your overseas pen pal! Pay all of your bills on time! Support the USPS and get them out of their billion dollar slump. read more

Bacon Station Post Office delivers mail to my home - or, at least, they're supposed to. I frequently get no mail delivered for days. This has been going on for about a year. The problem is that the current mail carrier for this route does not have a routine delivery time. (The mail used to come regularly between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM). Currently, mail deliveries to this block may occur anytime between 10:30 AM and 7:30 PM. That is a problem because I have two very friendly, happy dogs. I also have no back yard but have a fenced front yard for them to play in. However, the current mail carrier is apparently terrified of dogs and will not deliver my mail if the dogs are out, or even if they think they MIGHT be out. I cannot keep my dogs in all day long! I would gladly keep them inside for a 1-3 hour window every day, if the mail were delivered on some kind of schedule. It doesn't have to be delivered at a certain time - just within a reasonable (1-3 hour) window. I should point out that there has not been a single incident of my dogs behaving aggressively towards the mail carriers. When I recognized the problem, I spent a lot of money to install invisible fencing in order to provide a dog-free path to my mailbox. The mail carriers STILL would not deliver my mail because there is not a physical barrier. I wrote to the Postmaster at Bacon Station and explained my problem. He called me and started the conversation by saying there was nothing he could do. He was totally indifferent to my situation, and basically said that I should rent a post office box! I reiterated that I could readily address the issue if the mail were delivered at the same time (within 1-3 hours) every day. He said he couldn't do that. He offered absolutely no reasonable options to address the issue. My not getting mail regularly is obviously not a problem to him! If this were a private business instead of a monopoly, they would be out of business, based on their absolute indifference to their customers. If I could switch to a different provider of mail delivery services, I would do so in an instant. Unfortunately, there is no option to do that. read more

The line is always so long and it takes forever. And I've seen numerous times elderly people will stand in line just to buy one stamp! Yes one stamp they have nothing to do all day so they don't mind standing in line for 20 minutes me on the other hand sometimes have to stay in line to pick up a package. This group is a sad combination of uncaring arrogance and complete incompetence. On a recent vacation we filed for a temporary address change online at USPS, paid the small fee and received a prompt confirmation containing all accurate information. However, our mail was not forwarded on the effective date and had to picked up by great neighbors. A call to Bacon Post Office resulted in a rude and uncaring postal worker who said my request was not processed correctly. I filed a complaint with the national Post Office and those folks were at least helpful, reviewed my online forwarding request and assured me that all information was correct and met the requirements for their online request process. They filed a claim with the Bacon branch, and after a week, said my request was not honored since my request was not greater than sixty days. When I called the branch, I pointed out that their reasoning is not supported by any of the FAQ's for mail forwarding at USPS.com. I was then put on hold for 30 minutes and finally gave up. Now I am back with the National PO with my complaint kicked up to the next level. This is so hugely stupid and incompetent that it is hard to believe.
