This certainly is one of the nicer parks. Pulling in there was lots of trash on side of roads and what looked like a bunch of homeless people around. This is not the case. Well maintained park. Pet friendly. The park even has clean bathrooms with toilet paper! Of course this one time I didn't need it. I would suggest this park during COVID. All guests had masks on and always used sanitizer. 5 stars for Harris county!

Although this park is a nice place to get your workout in. Beware of thieves waiting on the opportunity to break into your car and take...steal what doesn't belong to them . It was daylight, 10:30 on a weekday. People are out doing their thing. Not thinking someone would bust the window out and take credit cards and use them within a 2 hour span. I haven't been back since April 21st. That's the day it happened. Mind you there were many people walking and exercising. I was only out there for 40 minutes.

The is probably the biggest park I've visited in the Houston area so far. Some long trails for both walking and running and have a slight incline to them. A big playground for kids near the parking lot/entrance. There's also parking along the street too if the parking lot is too full inside. On one side there's a huge grass field with kids playing soccer and baseball field off to the other end. Another well kept park as I saw people walking their dogs, but no dangers of stepping on dog poop from dog owners who don't pick up after their pets.

I absolutely love this park! It's a hidden gem and when I say it's hidden, it really is. This park has something to offer for adults and kids. It has one huge pavilion for rental and several small pavilions with one picnic take that is first come first serve. It also offers a splash pad, very nice play structures, restrooms, water fountains, exercise stations, a sanded volley ball court, and hills/trails that are great for a nice run or jog. Also the parking in plentiful. It's just next door to a Walmart so stop and grab some snacks and enjoy:)

    Great splash pad

Went on a Friday afternoon and it was not crowded. Park is super nice, clean and the splash pad and play ground are too notch!

You can reserve here. Great for parties!

Ask the Community - McClendon Park

Has anyone rented out the pavilion? I don't see any pricing or reservation information on their web page.

I rented it for my daughters birthday, but then cancelled it because of covid back in April. There was a deposit check required (I believe $125?) but if you leave it in good condition you do not get charged. The phone number for rental is on the… Read more

The Michael Jackson playlist serenading us from the Gaspacho's eatery was nostalgic. Even though the Sunset Bingo MC was difficult to hear while seated on the grass, the staff were more than willing to rearrange some tables to accommodate the growing crowd. On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal. Birthdays? reunions? book a spot! The nearby restaurants and easy parking are major pluses. Levy Park has a packed calendar of events so I'm bound to be back before the summer ends.

3.5 stars Cool place…read moreto hangout, but dang, why the metal slides in Houston? We went on a cloudy, cooler day (high of 81) in March, but the slides were still too hot. There is some shade provide by the canopies but definitely not enough. The bottom of the slides were still hit by the sun, and they're hot enough to burn you. I don't even wana think about in the middle of summer when Houston gets up to 100 degrees. My 2.5 yo enjoyed the playground otherwise. It was just too hot to enjoy all the things. She did really enjoy the water part and the sand. (We brought her swimming shirt and shorts, and she just walked in the sand and water barefoot. Surprisingly the concrete sidewalks didnt feel hot.) I stayed very close to her as she walked around the metal platforms (i could see this as being super dangerous, especially if crowded). The individual family restrooms are on the water side btw. The park side does not have changing tables in the restrooms. We saw some swings nearby, but there was no shade whatsoever (trees, canopies), which is a bummer bc she loves swings. Carousel is closeby. $3/ride or $6 all day. Parking is a bit further. We found free parking near the roundabout (Googlemaps: Parking man (Free parking)). We went around lunch on a Monday so there was a handful of empty spots, however on a weekend, forget about it. I absolutely hate driving down here. We walked through the Japanese Garden (recommend) since it's on the way to the playground.
