McAlister's Deli Lima Road - I've never been a big fan of McAlister's. However, I've had them, now, three times in the last three months. Twice dine in and once for a catered lunch. I have come to appreciate the freshness of their sandwiches lately. My wife had the chicken Caesar wrap. She liked the moist chicken, light tasting dressing and soft wrap. The potato salad was fairly standard with most. It had a nice mustard-mayo taste and consistency. It might have been a little heavy on the mayo. The egg and celery were good touches. Very smooth! The McAlister Club sandwich was filed high with delicious turkey and ham. The Swiss and cheddar cheese...plus toppings made a nice sandwich. The white bread was nicely toasted without being overly crispy. Just enough mayo to blend the tastes. The 1/2 salad, on the 2 choice deal, is enough for a whole meal. It's a real club salad. All the fresh meats, cheeses and toppings. Lots of croutons. The honey mustard dressing is thick and spicy. All blended to an enjoyable taste. The Mac & cheese side was rather small. The noodles were a bit mushy and over cooked. The cheese sauce comes off a bit "institutional". Perhaps a flavor that you would find at school or a place who isn't focused on a designer Mac & cheese. It was very creamy and had a mild cheese flavor. I liked the tee shirts the staff was wearing to promote their tea. McAlister's special tea is like drinking a hug - per the shirt. The tea has a nice smooth/warm/soothing taste. It kind of reminds you of a southern style tea. However, it isn't over the top sugary. It also doesn't have a bold strong tea taste. It's good...and I almost felt the hug lol. read more

Visited this location on a recent visit to Fort Wayne to grab lunch before heading home to Louisville. McAlister's is usually a safe bet. Sunday around noon o'clock and it was pretty a pretty busy place. We reached the corner to place our order after a short wait and the gentleman behind the corner took our order. He spoke very quietly and I felt bad having to ask him to repeat nearly everything. After we gave him our order and he repeated it I questioned it if it was right. At the point another employee came back and asked us what it was. It turns out he was a new employee and still finding his way. No problem. No one starts out an expert at anything. The nice lady got it straightened out and we sat down to wait. A few minute later a manager came by and apologized and said he thought our order wasn't entered correctly. We told him that was the case originally, but it was corrected by another employee and it was good now. The food took about ten minutes and wasn't presented as the prettiest meal I've ever eaten. Both lids on my Jalapeño Turkey Crunch appeared to be sliding off the side and the pickled looked like it had been mushed in the hands of a toddle, barely resembling a pickle. It made it a VERY messy, high-napkin-utilization meal. While the tables were addressed quickly after diners leaving, the floors were another story. Yes, it was lunch rush, but at the same time it takes a micro-second to pick up an errant straw wrapper or napkin. This location has a nice outside seating area with several table and umbrellas. It was a bit too hot/humid for us to eat outside, but in better weather we'd have absolutely eaten outside. read more

We enjoyed a mid-shopping lunch here with family while visiting Fort Wayne. We all had soups and salads and they were quite good! Service was friendly, prices were good. Best sandwich shop in Fort Wayne. I love the veggie on gluten-free bread (it is actually very GOOD gluten-free bread!). It's just packed full of onions, spinach, avocados (which work perfectly as dressing), sprouts and lots of other good stuff. Honestly, you won't miss the meat. read more

We were out of towners visiting for a high school sporting event. Cold and rainy after the game and we find our way to McAlister's. The staff were busy cleaning and trying to close but they were still welcoming and helped us 100%!! Mucho gracias! The potato salad is a staple side. The place runs more like a restaurant than a sandwich shop plus has about the same price point. The food was just ok, not what I'd call good for the amount of time it took or the amount of cash it took, but full disclosure I saw a lot of other people enjoy what they had more than I did. The service was really bad at the ordering counter, and of course they give you instructions on how to leave a tip, then it took us over 20 minutes to get our food and we only got it because we said something. Avoid the place right after the Sunday services rush and it's probably a decent spot but I went at the wrong time it seems. read more

I could smell and taste that it was not good. Took it off. The food was ok. When you're told you can pick one side, you don't always realize that some of the sides are an additional $1.00. I think their prices are too high but $3.69 for a glass of coke is just out of sight. Wouldn't choose to frequent McAlister's in the future. The food is great. The lemonade and tea are great!! But the customer service, impeccable!! ALL of the guys at each of the registers were so friendly and so funny. They were having a great time with every customer that came up to the counter. The girl that was at the register the last time I was there, was great too! Their Ruben is really great!! We have been longtime supporters at this restaurant. Today, on a Sunday during the lunch hour, we visited again. The girl behind the cash register acted as if she could've cared less about us ordering. We only placed four meal orders and had to correct her on two of them. She was bringing us things at the counter that we didn't even ask for. Then we walked away wondering if she even got our order correct. About 10 to 15 minutes after we sat down waiting for our food the manager walked by our table with my wife's order and then went back to the kitchen. Another couple of minutes later he brought it to the table and just set it down in front of her. No silverware. No explanation of anything else. Another 10 minutes went by when I finally got up and took my table sign up to talk to find out where the other 3 meals where. I spoke to two kids at the counter to ask them where our food was. Both of them initially said I don't know and stood there. I finally asked if they could check. He said well it might be on the counter they're coming out - I said can you check. Finally our food arrived at our table. One of the orders was not correct but we didn't take it back because we didn't have the time to wait any longer. Again, they did not bring us silverware for all of the meals. Silverware was on my plate. My silverware had cheese sauce all over the handles. My wife left to ask for more silverware. One of the meals were supposed to be wrapped up as a to go order. They took it back and never returned. My wife got up once again to ask where that meal was and she finally was able to get it. The restaurant was not very busy at all today. It's making us question whether we should be coming back or not. This is not what we normally experience but today it was abnormally bad. If I had known what I was getting into I would have opted for Panera. The restaurant was dirty, the service wasn't great, and after finally getting our food it tasted like it was reheated and then sat for a bit. Awful experience at the Jefferson Point location. We were turned away as walk in customers because they were to busy with on line orders. We contacted manager and were told he'd be sending VIP cards. Great place for lunch or dinner. The Choose 2 is a great deal - you get a whole baked potato instead of just half. They've only gotten my order wrong once, and they brought me a new sandwich immediately. The atmosphere is spacious (huge tables!) and very clean. So glad that they have a McAlister's in Fort Wayne! I love this cute little place. Every once in awhile if I'm craving for some sandwiches OR happen to be walking around Jefferson's Pointe, this is the place that I would choose to enjoy my lunch at. I find it to be better than Panera Bread because the sandwiches tastes better and seems bigger. I also think its a little cheaper than Panera Bread. Inside the place - you walk to the register to place your order like a typical sandwich place. They'll give you a number and bring the food to your table. I always get the half and half when I'm here. The spud max is to die for. I loove potatoes..with bacon, butter, green onions, and turkey... How awesome is that?! My favorite sandwich is the Southwest Turkey Melt... yep I love turkey! The flavors are so good and its the perfect sandwich for me. They have other type of sandwiches from their classic to grilled to hot sandwiches. Also, don't forget to order their sweet tea! I am OBSESSED with that tea. My mom, younger sister, and I stopped by here yesterday around 6pm. Our order was taken with no wait and was brought to us about 10 minutes after ordering. We all enjoyed our food. I had the "Pick 2" with the Savannah Chopped Salad and the Spud Max. Both were delicious. My mom and sister loved theirs, as well. (See pictures.) While we were eating, two employees came by our table and offered to refill our drinks and to get us anything else we needed. All of the employees working there were very pleasant. Their food is mediocre, at best. The main reason I agree to eat there is because I like their tea. I do a lot of big lunches for work. On three, yes, THREE different occasions, I have ordered food ahead of time and said, I will pick it up at X time. On three separate days, I have gotten there at my committed time to have the order not only not ready, but not even started. these orders range from 4 items to 15 items. Either way, they can't pull it off. This last time, I tried to push back to my boss and tell him I didn't want to go there again and why I didn't. He loves the place so I was forced to have to go there again. When I pulled in, there was one car in the parking lot, so it wasn't like they were busy. I had to wait 21 minutes to get my food and one of the teas, which were both supposed to be unsweetened, came sweetened. Not to mention, three of the four items ordered were salads. Those could have been made right after I called and thrown in the fridge!!! I REALLY hope that this is the LAST time I ever have to go there again! read more

Clean friendly environment. They have a spacious seating area, which is great for large groups. They have a very large menu, so it may seem intimidating when you first look at it. The portions are pretty big so it will definitely fill you up. This place is great for lunch and dinner and is decently priced. Definitely try their sweet tea! This is our favorite place to eat before work. We love almost everything on their menu. My husband loves the mcallister's club. The savannah chopped salad is very very good! Their sides are also amazing. The potato salad and mac n cheese are our favorites. You get your food very fast too! I definitely recommend! I would give five stars, but every once in awhile they will not give you enough mac n cheese or serve very cold mashed potatoes etc. But 90% of the time this place is great. read more

Ate at McAlister's Deli for the first time today. Nice lunch spot. Menu features sandwiches, soups, salads, and humongous baked potatoes. You order at the front and take a seat with a number sign so they can bring your food over to you when it is ready. They clear your table for you. In a cute touch, you can get a red/green card on your table to indicate if you want service or to be left alone (similar to how they are used at a Brazilian steak house, except not all you can eat). This was handy since we were there for a working lunch. I had half a roast beef Panini with the potato soup. The soup was a touch thick for my taste, but the flavors were good and it wasn't too salty (recent problem I've been having with potato soup). The soup was better than Bennigans, but not as good as Corner Bakery's. The Panini was fine, not great, but fine. My companion had the half Savannah salad with the half veggie potato. The veggie potato comes smothered in cheese, so if you are trying to be good with a veggie potato, ask them to go easy on the cheese. The pizza flats being served to the tables next to us looked great. I'll be trying one of those on my next visit. The atmosphere and price are on par with Panera or Corner Bakery. read more

McAlister's is my go to lunch spot. I always order on the App and it is ready in 15-20 even during the noon lunch rush. When I first started going to this location they messed up my order on several occasion but the food they gave me was still always super good. They haven't messed up my order in months now and I order McAlister's atleast 3 times a month. The food is just overall very good and they offer healthy options like their wide variety of salads.
