It has been awhile since I've been to this establishment and it was like a brand newish experience! The front counter has been completely redesigned and the customer experienced has changed. Drinks are now brought the register and the dedicated "drink delivery bar" is no more! The drink machines are separated from the customer by clear glass partitions. The decor inside has been updated with a fresh look that is modern and celebrates sustainability/environmentally friendly images and motifs mixed with heathy food and family/friend group images depicting happy scenes of togetherness. The lady who waited on me had a genuine smile that didn't stop from the moment she took my order to the moment she delivered my entree. To my fellow Celiacs, I recommend the sandwiches from McAlister's. This location has gluten free bread and they make sure to ask "is this an allergy?". I love when restaurants inquire about the gluten being an allergy or not. I haven't had any issues with their sandwiches before. read more

I genuinely love this place! I try to eat at local restaurants or places I've never eaten before but, I love McAlisters Deli! The customer service there is always pleasant and the food never disappoints. I went there a couple days ago and ordered the hot ham sandwich and my parter had the broccoli and cheddar soup! We sat down and waited about 10 minutes until we received our food. The ham and Dijon mustard they use just really tie the whole sandwich together and as for the soup it was delicious! (I might have tried some myself). The only think I dislike about the store is the layout of the coke machine and the weird zigzag way of walking into the restaurant. Service and Food Quality has taken a nose dive in the last year. Can be directly attributed to the recent management/staff changes. Recently had an interaction with an assistant manager who was not pleasant to deal with, and after stating he was new there he said he had been there for almost a year. After I had already stated we have been frequent guest since it opened about 6-8 times per month. Stated how they have always done business and said I was wrong about how I have been served and how things run there. Yes you're right I am wrong about how things run there as before they were correct and the store was always busy. Now it is ran incorrectly and the store is suffering. If you are visiting from another city where you love McAlister's I would avoid this one as most of the local people are already figuring it out. read more

When this McAlister's first opened it was great! I don't know if it's new management or what, but the entire experience has me longing for the good ole days. The employees clearly don't want to be here and the entire mood is ghost town esque. I kind of like this place. I mean for a "deli" experience it's a long ways away from Katz's or any New York or East Coast deli but it also isn't what most folks around these parts would equate a deli being (lots of greasy fried food like you get at the Supercenter or some Quick-mart or truckstop. I had the New Yorker like I have on most visits and it was as always very good. The potato salad was fine though not exceptional. I haven't quite figured out if it is made fresh or comes out of some huge tub. One drawback to this visit. I came probably on the back end of the lunchtime crowd, but it wasn't very busy. That however didn't seem to keep me from feeling rushed as at least two of the staff were trying to clear away my plate even as I was still eating. It was like "here's your hat what's your hurry!" I could have understood if they were rushed and needed seats and I was kind of involved with my phone at the time, but as I said it wasn't particularly busy. Have been a customer since they opened years ago without issues, but their staff has really gone downhill recently. I've started to get wraps with skimped ingredients and no dressing, and sides that barely fill a quarter of the sides cup that they use. If I try to clarify that I want normal portions or dressing on something that's supposed to come with it, they say "ok" and throw extra charges on the order without mentioning them. I miss the days when this was a good place to eat, but it seems people who hate customers have taken it over. What a loss. read more

I said something about it and rather than being out fresh Mac and cheese, they just put it in the microwave. My favorite chain deli from my home in northeast Arkansas has finally made its way to Fort Smith! And it's just as good as ever. They really push the sweet tea, and for good reason. It's really good. Not quite as good as what I make at home (I'm an expert, though), but I never get anything else and neither should you. The sandwiches are among the best in town, the spuds are killer, and the potato salad is the stuff of dreams. It's a tad pricy (cheaper than Panera, though) but absolutely worth it. read more

So we went there today and the place was super messy water on the floor, chips, and dirty tables. It wasn't that busy, but they may have just been slammed. I ordered the new Jalapeño turkey avocado sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese. My hubby got the Rueben and potato soup. The turkey sandwich was A+ I will get again however I got cold runny Mac and sent it back yuck. They replaced with potato salad which was good. No apology from manager which was bad. This place was absolutely filthy. My boyfriend and I came here during a road trip and were the only people in the restaurant. There were plates, cups and food scattered throughout the dining area despite there being plenty of employees to clean and no customers taking up time. When I came here I had high expectations, because other Mcalisters were great. When I was standing by the register to pick my meal, I felt harrassed to hurry up and make my selection. My hubby and I paid $21.95 for two French dip sandwiche meals with tea. From what I have read in reviews, they seem to have a problem with serving food at the correct temperature. My "hot" sandwich was served cold, and my coleslaw lukewarm, with a pickle that tasted like it was dipped in mop water.( Please don't waste your time and money eating here. They may have the name mcallister on the sign, but inside it is far from what it's suppose to be. When I told the management about the temp issue he offered to fix the issue, but said that they keep temp logs to insure food safety, but that he would use these reviews to coach the team. I eat here all the time and have yet to have a subpar experience. Have a hard time not getting the Orange Cranberry club or the Horseradish Beef n Cheddar. Can't go wrong with either one. The baked potato with roast beef is my occasional 3rd option. read more

We just finished at the gym and called in for some salads right before closing time. Cap was amazing when we got there. Let us try the new key lime pie and even accommodated my husbands weird request for a lemonade mix. They were very courteous and even introduced us to the punch card system. This place was hit and miss on everything but the food. The food had always been good but the service can be really great or REALLY terrible and it seemed to just get worse and worse. Some days it's really clean and other days I was glad it rained because by the time I got back to my car whatever sticky stuff was on the floor was be gone. We don't go back anymore. Too many bad experiences. We used to get the mango citrus green tea and we'd buy the gallons. One kid insisted he knew exactly how to eye the measurement of the mango flavoring and refused to measure so needless to say the inconsistency was a problem. The last time we went in it was a half an hour before closing and we only went in to get a tea. The girl cleaning behind the counter have us the dirtiest look and I could tell we weren't wanted but I wanted a tea. When she came to the register I asked for the citrus green tea, she said they didn't have that. I said ok well what kind of teas do you have? She VERY rudely said sweet.. unsweet.. in a way that inferred that I should have known that. I said oh you don't have flavored teas anymore, she said yeah and then stood there. I waited a minute and said ok what kind. We chose a flavor and she made the drinks and we left. I wasn't really paying attention to her making the drinks except to make sure she didn't spit in it and when we took the first sip it was disgusting. She didn't mix it, all of the flavoring was at the bottom. That was the last time. I'll go to other McAllister's but not this one. read more

Nachos were cold and the cheese sauce was cheap like you get out of a can. The staff seemed to not be firing on all cylinders.The 1st food runner brought our nachos took order number from our table and when our dinner did come out the guy walked around looking for us until my wife waved him over. The wait staff were awkward and tried to be genuine and come to our table and ask us if we need anything but it seem forced. The place also smelled like fish but I don't think they serve it. I had the vegetable club and the bread was stale or maybe was toasted and allowed to cool back down, and on top of that it was supper dry. My wife got a salad and it looked like my 7 year could have made it. Big chunks of meat and cheese and lettuce that was a little off. Then menu is freaking huge and had lots of options but it was a little confusing. The reason for the 2 stars is that it is for them offering a healthy vegan choices and price was not bad. read more
