Ikea cabinets with custom fronts
Dina N.

MC Wood Works was recommended to us by our kitchen planner and we're so glad they did. There is no way we could have put our Ikea kitchen together let do it almost single-handed like Michael. Michael installed our cabinets plus custom fronts with great care. Everything was measured to a T. A lot of pieces had to be cut down to fit and he did it with no problems. He really exceed all expectations! Also wanted to give a shout-out to their project manager Olivia, the politest and most professional person I've ever had the pleasure of emailing. She made sure to follow up appropriately and never left us hanging. They're also extremely upfront and transparent with their prices. I wish everyone was as easy to work with as MC Wood Works!

WOW, where do I even start?! This company deserves all the stars and more. Olivia, Michael and their crew are the perfect example of professionalism. Their customer service is A-1! They are honest hardworking people and I have no doubt whenever I have another project, I will be calling them. My money was definitely well spent with them, totally worth it. I personally think they are business smart for cornering the market when it comes to installing and working with IKEA brand cabinets because it is so niche. The contractors I contacted before deciding on IKEA, worked with specific vendors and manufacturers. A lot of them did not have experience working with IKEA cabinets or refused to because the way they are assembled and installed is non-traditional. Remodeling a kitchen is already stressful in itself, but I knew I was in good hands with MC Wood Works. They made it easy, seamless and smooth. I couldn't have asked for more. They are experts with IKEA cabinets and have years of experience with them. They know how to modify and customize it to utilize and fit your space perfectly. Like I mentioned, I opted for IKEA kitchen cabinets when it came to this project and MC Wood Works is one of the very few companies that you can hire for installation in the area, so I suggest hiring them for any service relating to IKEA products. I would advise against doing it yourself or even hiring someone NOT familiar with IKEA products. It can end up a disaster. From working with Olivia on pricing and scheduling to working with Michael and his crew on site, it was all such a great experience. Super friendly, professional, accommodating, organized, walked me through everything and advised me when any issues arose. Although there were some hiccups in the pieces I ordered and finding the right measurements for what I wanted, he is truly an expert at what he does. He had to come back twice and didn't mind, although I felt bad because it was my mistake. Nevertheless he was very helpful and nice. Before the project, they made sure to cover the ground/floors they were working on to prevent any damage and make the clean up a breeze. Communication from initial contact, proposal and completion was great as well! Communication on projects like these are key. We were all on the same page as far as deliverables, schedules, rates from beginning to end. I called, texted and emailed them numerous amount of times with questions and they were always happy to help. Payment transaction was via Venmo, which made it a super easy and quick transaction. We got a custom kitchen from a 5-star company with a professional and expert crew at a great price. I'm so happy I found them on Yelp and was able to still give them business especially during the pandemic (mind you this project was August 2020). But most importantly I'm appreciative and thankful that they made time for us on their schedule. They blessed our very first new home with their service and talent. No one does it better! I can't believe I forgot to write them this review last year, but the reason it came up again, is I've hired them to do our IKEA bathroom vanity cabinets next month. I'm so excited because I have complete confidence and trust in their work and what they do. My bathroom remodel is going to come out FIREEEEE. I'll update with pics when it's done in May ya'll. At this point, it's obvious, I can't rave about them enough! If you've made it to the end of my novel review, THANK YOU. Hope you enjoyed it. I'll just end it here. LOL

MC wood works installed Ikea pax system in my den attached to wall. They did quality work. I recommend MC wood work for installing Ikea cabinetry.

IKEA kitchen cabinets and drawers looking like a custom closet built in

LOVE LOVE LOVE this company and their work. We hired Michael to install our IKEA kitchen cabinets during our remodel. The company that IKEA sets people up with has awful reviews, so I decided to find my own installers. Super efficient team and methods of assembly and installing. Due to a couple measuring inaccuracies on my part, Michael had to get creative and cut a couple cabinets to make it work. Our kitchen looks custom because he really knows what he is doing. We were so pleased we had Michael back to install IKEA cabinets and drawers in an alcove for my son's closet. Michael really gave it nice finishing touches and the cabinets and drawers look truly *built in*. Shout out to Olivia on the business side, she is a pleasure to deal with. Always timely and courteous. Michael is on our short list of very trusted contractors.

The cabinet installation was the least stressful part of my kitchen remodel thanks to Mike and Olivia. Olivia handled all the communication and estimates. She was very quick to respond to all my emails and requests and she did so with kindness and patience which rare these days. Mike and his crew worked very efficiently and managed to make IKEA cabinets look custom with the finishing techniques they used. Due to errors on my part Mike had to come back 3 or 4 times to reinstall cabinets, but did so gladly and charged me a very fair price. This was my 3rd IKEA kitchen install with them. They are the best at what they do.

We are not the easiest customers because we are super picky but also know very little about this stuff, so it took us a lot of time to research every detail and figure out exactly what we wanted and they were so patient with us through the entire process! We began in August with a stop by their beautiful showroom after a recommendation from my Aunt who had used them recently. From the moment we walked in the door, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful and we wasted no time in scheduling an appointment for a free in-home estimate. Design Consultant, Juan, came out to do preliminary measurements, discuss what we wanted, and give us a quote. He spent a few hours in our home going over options and answering our questions and was so professional and helpful! We were thankful he wasn't pushy in any way, and after learning they custom build everything, so there would be no wasted space with fillers that other companies use with prefabricated cabinets, we knew this was the right choice for us! Juan sent us a preliminary rendering, 8 oversized 11x17" pages and then there was lots of back and forth by email and phone and in-person meetings in their showroom as we figured out exactly what we wanted. I think we had a total of 5 revisions! Juan was very responsive, helpful, & patient throughout this process that took about two months because of US! The next step was to have even more precise measurements done by Surveyor, Nathan. Again, very professional, helpful, and patient! He came to our home to do this, which was followed with lots of back and forth emails, calls, and meetings to answer our questions and help us finalize our design. This took almost an additional three months and about 10 sets of revisions to drawings because we went through each set with a fine tooth comb, as we figured out exactly what we wanted and didn't. By the time we signed off on everything in December, we were confident with the design and excited for them to begin production and schedule the demo/installation! In the meantime, they sent us to meet with the tile company they work with to choose our backsplash. (I will write a separate review, but also extremely happy with them! Kelli, Erica, & Jen in the shop really helped me so much and saved me from making some really bad choices. Super friendly and really know their stuff! Excellent installer, Edvin, & field supervisor, Claude)! Next, three full days of DEMO by team of very hard workers: Ruben (Lead), Miguel, Alfredo, & Fausto! These men did such an excellent job in every way! They were professional, friendly, & highly skilled, and by the time they finished, our kitchen was a blank canvas with new electrical outlets, wiring, and updated plumbing finishes. Next we had a planned work stop to remove old wallpaper and address a separate plumbing issue and it was during this time that Mr. Cabinet Care delivered our cabinets! It felt like Christmas morning! An entire truck full that filled our garage! Armani was very skilled at unloading and fitting everything in the limited space we have! Meanwhile, Mr. Cabinet Care was able to source the quartz slab we fell in love with and had our heart set on, even though it was on back order. Now it was time for the installation team: Ruben (same as for the Demo days) with Rommy, Saul, & Jose. These guys are also extremely professional, friendly, & skilled and worked so hard for 4 full days! They installed all the cabinets/drawers, knobs/pulls hardware, under-cabinet lighting, & sink! During this time, they sent the stone vendor to our home to create a template for our quartz countertop. (Very happy with this company as well & will write a separate review). By now, our kitchen is almost complete, but my husband basically went over everything with a magnifying glass and had a few things he wanted addressed so Field Supervisor, Fausto, returned to take care of every last thing! Fausto is a SUPER STAR! Next, the counter and backsplash were installed. Field Supervisor, Claude, delivered the supplies in advance and confirmed plans with us. Then, Edvin, spent two full days, installing the backsplash perfectly! It's time for the final touches! Mr. Cabinet Care sent Jose & Alex out for a full day (along with Supervisor, Fausto) to install kitchen sink, potfiller, all our appliances, custom drawer inserts, etc. These guys worked so hard! We are so close now! But there's just one thing I don't love so Fausto comes up with a genius way to finish off the sink design with a custom trim that he creates a template for and then returns to install. Now we can honestly say our kitchen is PERFECT and we absolutely LOVE it! Thank you to everyone at Mr. CC for creating our DREAM KITCHEN! Your whole team is the ABSOLUTE BEST! Worth every penny!

My appointment was rescheduled four separate times, often last minute. As a mom of 10-month-old twins, my schedule is very structured, so the repeated changes were especially disruptive. POOR PLANNING, POOR EXECUTION…read more We needed our kitchen cabinets resurfaced. This outfit was understaffed, showed poor planning, poor judgement, unprofessional job standards, and poor clean-up. The good news is they fixed all the problems ... well, mostly. The bad news is that there were just so many problems, causing endless delays. Staff was not available; planning was improvised and sloppy (requiring work to be redone again and again); work quality was indifferent. In the end I had to finish the clean-up, and I'm still fishing loose steel screws out of the cabinet shelves. Delays turned the promised 3-day job into 8 working days spread over two weeks, leaving us with no kitchen and a house mess for much longer than we planned. In the end, we got our kitchen cabinets resurfaced, and it looks fine. But what a frustrating, amateur road we travelled to get there. Cannot recommend this outfit.

The shelves collapsed because of loose screws from lazy installers at Taranto Construction, Inc. It's infuriating to have to pay someone to come solve an issue that goes back to completely loose screws in the hardware that would've taken an extra 5 seconds to properly tighten at the initial install. But they know people won't see it, so they cut corners. DO NOT EVER USE TARANTO CONSTRUCTION INC in Claremont CA for a kitchen install, or any Lowe's in the surrounding area, as this is who they refer the work to. After spending a short amount of time with Walter, it's clear he knows what he is doing and is a professional. Walter worked with us to pick the right product and colors. We went with Shinnoki real wood veneer panels. They are beautiful and durable. They even painted around the drawers where you can see very little of the painting they did. That shows a lot of pride! Walter also gave us the look of frameless cabinets even though we would have had to replace the cabinet boxes in order to make them frameless. That's a lot of extra work. In one photo in which I have a drawer pulled out with hot pads in it, Walter designed that and made it fit. There was not a drawer in there before because it's under the stove and the gas line was in the way. But Walter moved it.
