His guarantee was he would repair, replace, or pay face value for items broken or damaged. Sounded good. He told me packing material would be about $300 - ended up charging me $1100. How as a professional be that far off?? The packers were always about 1 hour later than scheduled. We had to be out of the house by a certain day and i knew based on the progress it would not happen. I ended up packing many non- fragile items to speed up the progress. So many things went wrong- they broke so many items and hid some of the broken items so I didn't know until days later. He pressured me to sign papers and settle very late at night before I had a chance to check on things. Many things are missing and I don't know if they were left at the house or disappeared in the move. I have moved many times and never had such a bad experience. It was a stressful time - he told me he would take care of everything - a very disappointing experience. I would avoid this company if you have items you care about.

I was called and told the boss took me off the schedule already, I was told that I was trying to get one over on the moving company, which made no sense as I was trying to discuss the specific item an my options and even the cost for the extra movers. VERY impressed by these guys. I talked to WAY more movers than I would have liked over the last…read moremonth, and Mike, Sandra and Chris really followed through. I'd scheduled Stallion Moving to perform my move-out at 4:30pm on a Tuesday. I'd booked them at least a couple of weeks in advance. When an hour went by and I hadn't heard a peep from them, I started calling around to evaluate a back-up plan, and Mike from Pride was EXTREMELY helpful, saying that as soon as his guys got back from their scheduled jobs he'd send the first crew out to help me. I ended up sticking with Stallion (even though they ended up being FOUR hours late), but kept Pride in mind for the future. Good thing I did - I had Strong Arm moving scheduled for my move-in the following Tuesday morning, and when I called to confirm at 9am they informed me I was scheduled for Wednesday, which of course was not what I'd originally booked. They also failed to inform Hire-a-helper that I'd changed my move date, so my move was already charged to my account, but thankfully Hire-a-helper was able to refund my money. I then called back Mike from Pride, who put me in touch with Sandra at the office, and she coordinated the move with the Denver office and had a crew to my home within an hour - Incredibly impressive for a call out of the blue. What stood out about these guys was not only their dedication to helping you with your move, but also how incredibly personable they were. Chris from the Denver office explicitly told me to call his cell phone if I had any concerns, showing he knows how nervewracking moving can be! The two crew members that assisted me were incredibly friendy and efficient, yet careful with my belongings. They may not have all the bells and whistles of a huge company (hence the 4 stars - they didn't have their payment system quite figured out), but they did the job right and I am thankful I had them to rely on!

However, it was not perfect. Two major negative experiences: 1) the drop off contractor did not have two of my boxes - he had to return to the mother truck to pick them up. My dresser's knobs were broken off (not fixable) and my bike frame was bent (fixable but a royal pain) I liked Long Distance Movers and I guess no moving company is perfect?

The first time was when we needed a Senior Move Manager Company to help us downsize my in-laws from their ranch house (2000 sq ft) to an apartment (1107 sq ft). What a challenge! My mother-in-law had a very hard time letting things go. We interviewed 5 different Senior Move Managers, and we hired Luann and People Helpers. They do it all! They help to declutter. They help to decide what can go to consignment and what can be donated, and what has to go to the trash. They even supply the trash dumpster! After going through the house for 6 weeks before People Helpers showed up, we had made a major dent in things. People Helpers then came in, and went through the house with us, and then they went to work. They had my in-laws downsized to their new apartment, the house completely cleared out too. WOW! You can't go wrong hiring People Helpers! update: 1-18-2022: We are now using People Helpers again, as Luann and her crew were FABULOUS the first time around! This time, my father-in-law has passed away, and we needed to empty out their apartment, as my mother-in-law now lives with my husband and I. Granted, it was a lot easier this time around, as emptying a 1107 sq ft apartment is so much easier than a 2000 sq foot home. Luann and her crew, did a fabulous job! I called her, and told her of my father-in-law's passing. We got on her calendar, and the apartment was packed up one day, and emptied the next. Luann and People Helpers did it again! Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and care! You are all wonderful people! The service you provide is wonderful! Thank you!

She even re-dispatched one of her trucks to pick some additional items I needed to move. In her walk through she identified items that would to auction, items that would go to consignment, items that would be donated, and finally those items that would have to be junked. Finally, this move was both an up and downstairs project that her crew negotiated like old pro's even though they were all young! A terrific experience for me during a time of great turmoil.
