I am super fussy about my nails and have ingrown toenail problems with my feet. I am super super picky about my nails I like them a certain shape with my edges always straight and I can never pick a color. At any other place those might be an issue; however here, they never let me leave unhappy. They always sit me as soon as I get there & they start conversation and are so friendly ! It's a clean decent place to go when you're desperate. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The lady who did my nails (fill-in) was nice and corteous at first. She applied the acrylic first and then trimmed the nails down instead of cutting the tips first and then applying the acrylic. She didn't bother shaping my nails with the file. I actually had to do it myself to correct her sloppyness. Afterwards she just rough-handled my fingernails as she got busy trimmimg away. I came in here based on a recommendation. The woman who did my manicure was not overly warm or friendly, which didn't bother as long as she did a good job. My pedicure was good, Nothing over the top. Then I got a gel manicure, she didn't really clean up my cuticles really well (which is one of the main reasons I get manicures). However, what continued my "ehhh..." experience was that the color was not was I had asked for. I asked for a one of those dark colors with alot of glitter. However, it had very little glitter and was VERY transparent, when I told her that wasn't the color in the sample she seemed irritated that she had to put on more coats. Even then it wasn't even close. But she never bothered to ask if it was okay or if I was satisfied with the results, she just put on the clear coat and asked if I was paying in cash or not :/ read more

I really like this shop. The people are nice. The shop is clean. My pedicure last for weeks. There is one problem. They do not make appointments anymore. Walk-ins ONLY. I guess they do not feel your time is valuable. Sometimes you have to sit and wait awhile for your turn. The reason I keep coming back is that I have not found another place that my pedicure still looks good after 3 weeks. When I find a place makes appointments and has a lasting pedicure I will probably switch. read more

Party of 6 came in for mani-pedi. They took three of us back to start on our toes and the others had to wait for chairs to open up. By the time the other three were called the first three of us were done. Now you would think they would start on our fingers while the others were getting their toes done but instead we all sat under the dryer watching other people walk in and get helped first. No one who came in and got helped before us had an appointment. So now all six of us are done with toes and waiting for them to finish the people they pulled ahead of us. Now they are painting our fingers one at a time rushing and doing a terrible job and being terribly rude. My little sister (12) and cousin (9) moved a little bit while getting painted (which is expected from a child) and the lady yelled at her and said she is in a rush and doesn't have time to fix mistakes and made one of them cry. My cousin smeared hers by accidentally hitting it on the fan while drying it and was too afraid the lady would be mad at her so she didn't say anything to get it fixed. We have been here for THREE HOURS now and she is just now starting the last person in our party. read more

I have been a patron of Brian and Lisa for over ten years in Rockville, MD, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Brian is without doubt the best manicurist I've ever had; he is efficient but thorough, and I always walked out of the shop feeling like I had been taken care of. Lisa is also a superior manicurist - for sets, fills, and pedicures - and shoulder massages! They are always up on the latest technology in their field and they always look for ways to improve their offerings. I also really appreciated that they took appointments (!) and also graciously helped walk-ins. The shop was clean and neat and provided much-needed relaxation from the world outside. I was sick when they said they would be moving to California and I really miss them - not only because of the shop but because I was (and am!) so fond of them. Very discouraged when I saw someone use a gift certificate. The woman checking her out did not know how to take the tip out of the certificate which forced the customer to use a credit card to provide a tip (didn't have enough cash?) and there was a hefty minimum amount for charging too. The customer could have skipped paying the tip in this case. It's nice she didn't. Hopefully the company has since learned to adjust gift cert for tip. read more

I am very disappointed with the way Lisa treated me after being a loyal customer for over a year and having referred over 6 clients to her shop. I simply explained my frustration that charging an extra $6 because I forgot cash was extremely pricey after my daughter and I's pedicure and I would be fine paying the fee they are charged for my card, but $6 was steep for 2 standard pedicures. She began yelling at me and I explained I didn't appreciate her yelling, especially in front of my 10 year old daughter and I would most likely not be back. After 15 minutes, my daughter was finishing up and Lisa was still angry and insulting me to another customer that "people just want everything for free." I have spent many hours and tons of money here and found that do be very disrespectful and unappreciative of her customer. I will miss Brian greatly, but Lisa's awful customer service has given me no choice but to never return. Raise your prices, since that is one of the things you were yelling to me, but don't charge a ridiculous amount of money so your customers have to pay cash! Charging a merchant fee is much more professional and reasonable. read more

Absolutely awful experience. I clearly stated what I wanted (pedicure and fiberglass nails, with french manicure polish) and staff misunderstood, but did not ask questions to clarify. Put white tips on for pink and white. When I questioned this, the man argued with me and tried to blame me for not using the right terminology. Give me a break...I'm not in the nail business! He then took the tips off and told someone else to give me a manicure...wrong again! I questioned this and got more arguing. Left with pedicure but no nails. I guess they need to go to ESL class...but doubt that could fix stupid!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR WAXING SERVICES!!!! Lisa Dang the manager at MC Nails in Placerville, CA completed wax services on me on 2/2/18. I walked into a small room at the rear of the salon that said employees only. In the room was a small bed covered in a sheet. There was a stain on the sheet. She placed a small amount of butcher paper over the stain. I asked for a Brazillian wax and underarms waxed. Lisa did not wash her hands or wear gloves during the services. Lisa began the services by taking a wooden stick and dipping it into a wax warmer. She then applied the wax to my genitals and placed the same used wooden stick back into the wax warmer. She did this multiple times before throwing the stick away. She did not wear gloves at any point. She continued toward my anus area and used a new stick applied the wax to my anus area then placed the same stick back in the wax warmer. After the services were completed she pour lotion into my bare hands and told me to rub it on the freshly waxed skin so I can check for stubble. She then began waxing my armpits with the wax from the same wax warmer that was used for my genitals. I was left more sore than ever before. I have received wax services from multiple salons throughout California and I have never been left this sore and bleeding. read more
