My experience with this repair shop was extremely frustrating. I trusted them with my BMW, but after multiple visits, I continued to experience new problems shortly after repairs were completed. After one repair, my check engine light appeared. I was told the issue was related to oil, but shortly after, I noticed a coolant leak. These were problems I had not observed before bringing my vehicle in. I had also recently completed bumper repairs and carefully inspected my car before dropping it off. The customer service was equally disappointing. My vehicle was kept for three days without a single update. I had to repeatedly contact the shop before receiving any information. When I finally spoke with Sam, I was told a turbo was failing and was quoted approximately $7,000 for the repair. As a customer, I expected transparency, communication, and repairs that solved the problem. Instead, I left with less confidence in my vehicle and more concerns than when I arrived. Noticed this place doesn't have enough reviews. I wanted to share my experience with sam and his team. it was great! I was looking for mechanic that specializes in german engineering. I had a 2001 BMW e46, I called them up and told them i was burning oil and i might need a PCV valve but i wasn't too sure since i'm not to knowledgeable in BMW mechanics. Anyways, took it in, Sam hooked up his Scanner to find my hidden code. Seen it has an inactive code for the oil separator. we chatted gave me a price, i thought it was fair after doing a bit of research before hand. Got the car back within 5 days. I was pleasantly surprised how amazing the car ran after. sadly i did not have the car for long after or MBA motors would had a long time customer. I've been driving around for about three weeks knowing that I need and oil change. I own a new Mercedes Metris van, and have been hesitant to take it to a Jiffy Lube type place. The fact that I knew I need to this service, but hadn't gotten it done was weighting on my psyche. So, I was thrilled to find MBA Motors while driving down PCH the other day. On am impulse I parked and walked in to inquire about the service. Sam was nice enough to drop what he was doing, to take care of me right away. He used premium Liqui-moly oil, which isn't cheap stuff, so I thought the price was reasonable, especially given the while-I-wait service. Knowing my van was new to me, and I was curious, Sam didn't mind letting me watch him work -- which might annoy someone else. He was very kind and professional. I don't live in Long Beach, but I would make a special trip to see Sam, in 10k miles, for my next service. read more

Sam and his crew are amazing. It all started when I took my car in after it was at another shop for over 6 months because the mechanic didn't know what was wrong. I took it to MBA and Sam returned my car back to me in under two hours- fixed. He is amazing and knowledgeable and I highly recommend going to him if you have an foreign cars (Volkswagen, bmw, etc) I unfortunately bought a lemon of a car so it's constantly needing repairs and I only take it to Sam now. I feel bad for him (my cars a pain in the a**), but he is always willing to help me and he gets it done FAST. As good as an independent gets. I had a VANOS issue with my 2003 BMW M5, and spent months chasing its solution. Having background as an auto tech, I was pretty certain what the issue was but did not have the computer to do the work. I talked to a ton of mechanics who were completely worthless and told me a bunch of BS. I took it to Long Beach BMW where they tried to charge me 5 hours for diagnosis after I paid them an hour. After seeing his shop on PCH I stopped in and he was the first person who could competently explain the VANOS system and was able to diagnose the problem in 45 minutes. He fixed it for less than the dealer wanted to diagnose it. Most importantly, I feel comfortable with him working on my car. He is straightforward and friendly. I now have him do work on my M5 that I would normally do myself. The only issue is that he is too good and thus busy, so don't expect to be able to waste his time or push him around like a normal shop. read more

I brought my 2010 Volkswagen GTI to this shop to replace my trunk latch (Good old VW quality) and get an oil change. For the oil change, Sam said his shop uses a fully synthetic oil called Liqui-moly. I've read that this is one of the recommended oils by GTI Enthusiasts (Another popular one being Motul). The oil change cost me $90. It does seem pricey to the non-GTI driver, but my oil changes with fully synthetic has run me about $80-$90. Sam, the owner I believe, said that I do not have to get an oil change for 10,000 miles. This is the first mechanic to tell me that I don't need to bring it back for 10,000 miles. I've been told to come back at 5,000 miles. (I know fully synthetic oil lasts for 10-15k miles, but mechanics have never told me to come back after 10k). They replaced my latch. It took an extra day for me because VW didn't have the part on hand. Sam showed me what happened to the old latch. Good experience. As long as I am working in Long Beach, I'll be back. read more

I was getting some repairs for my ML 320 somewhere else but they were unable to fix my car, the check engine light kept turning on. I brought my car here and he was able to fix it. The 'check engine' light was finally cleared. I came back after driving my car for over 50 miles to get the smog check & to get my front brakes. He was so kind to drive to the smog check in the corner where I had initially done my smog test and asked the guy to extend the "Free 2nd smog test within 10 days" since my car had failed the smog check and it had been more than 15 days. I am extremely happy with the work they did here.They went out of their way to help me, he even fixed the Center Console Window Switch for FREE. I will go back in a couple of weeks to do the tune up and will refer my friends to this shop. read more
