I'm rating a 2 because I am hopeful that our food is of good quality.(edit the hand tossed crust was given to us by accident so ordered the pan style-we were not a fan it's gritty and cardboard like- the boneless Parmesan wings were excellent and my husband said his Alfredo pasta was good) My family and I stopped here traveling from Alabama to California , because Yelp said the restaurant was open till 10:00pm. After checking into our hotel less than a half a mile away-we arrived to the restaurant at 8:50pm an employee immediately advised us that we can order to go only because they dining room closes at 9:00pm. The door stated they closed at 10:00pm. Too tired to try to find a place we ordered to go. 5 minutes after placing our order-they delivered food to a table in their dining room. The salad bar was also fully stocked. Feeling rushed, we quickly ordered. We arrived about 30 minutes before they closed. We worried about being an inconvenience to them since they were probably cleaning up to go home. They were very friendly and didn't make us feel rushed or a bother. The pizza came out fairly quickly and it was delicious. We were traveling through the state and decided to try this place for the first time. When we travel through again we will definitely visit here again. read more

I love this Mazzio's...the salad bar is great with lots of choices and if they don't have your kind of pizza on the buffet, tell them, and they will make one for you, come to your table and give you as much of it as you want, and put the rest on the buffet! I was hoping for a handmade calzone, like 1Guy's in Lubbock. No such luck. It looked and tasted like pre-made frozen. The highlights were the salad bar was fresh and the food was plentiful. Also affordable. Nice staff. I give it a meh on a scale of yummy to oh hell no. read more

We were in town for a couple days and this place seemed busy every time we passed it. When we stopped, they had dirty table tops, we had to clean our own table to have a place to sit. The table next to us gave us a rag they got from one of the workers and some spray...lol. Their buffet line was sparse, they couldn't keep up with the rush I guess. I have only eaten at this chain twice in my life. If we stop, it is usually because the other restaurant choices are few and far between. We had been traveling quite a while on the turnpike heading north. Tried stopping in McAlester to eat, only to realize what an armpit of a town it was. Ughh. Seriously, if you are thinking of getting off the highway for a rest stop in McAlester, don't! So anyway, we went further north and it was a toss up between, KFC, Braums, and Mazios. I had the lasagna the first time I had ever eaten at this chain and was not impressed at all. This time round I ordered a Hoagie, which is listed as a new menu item. Anyway, I had the chicken, bacon, tomato, lettuce, cheese version which is served on a toasted roll. Much to my surprise, it was actually very good. I would order it again. If you have never eaten at this chain, it was apparently a pizza chain for a long time. They still sell pizza there, but now have expanded the menu to include other items. I would say the Hoagies are going to be a popular item on the menu. So if you are on the road and have a craving for a sandwich and a rest break, stop and try a Hoagie here. Update: We stopped at another Mazzios in a different town. This one was definitely an old old restaurant location that was about 20 years past remodeling time. The bathroom, ughh...time for the demolition ball. So be aware, not all the places are going to be recent new construction. read more

We ordered tonight... Our first time... Had some good points and some low points... the "calzone" ring - the dough was dried out and hard to chew, there was very minimal cheese, the meat was good but we could not even taste the bacon in the ham bacon and cheese and we could not taste any garlic in the garlic butter on the dough... The caramelized onions on our meat feast pizza came out burnt because they were put on last, this left a horridly bitter taste in our mouths and we could not even fully eat it and we even tried just eating the stuffed crust... but they forgot the bacon that we paid for :-/ we ordered a stuffed crust taco... asking for the cold stuff on the side so the lettuce wouldn't wilt... they put the box where it would get warm... so the lettuce was a little warm but thankfully not wilted... the roma tomatoes... were NOT ripe... so I gave them to my Aunt cause she enjoys early tomatoes... I dressed up the taco pizza with the toppings, adding white diced onion (because the red onion they gave us was VERY little) added diced roma tomatoes and diced green bell pepper, I then drizzled the southwest sauce on top and then drizzled some salsa con queso on top of that... Everyone devoured that... and enjoyed the heck out of it... I wish I could say that it was enjoyed straight from Mazzios but unfortunately it took a homemade spin on it to make it to where my family could/would eat it... I guess I will just stick to making it from scratch at home from here forward :( read more

Terrible establishment with subpar employees. They are consistently, and when I say consistently, without exaggeration, they are without ham almost every time I call to order. Therefore you can pretty much never order a ham bacon cheddar calizone which is by far one of mazzios best items. They claim the calizones are premade but my knowledge and experience working at various pizza establishments tells me that while dough and crusts are premade and kept in a cooler for hours at a time...toppings are not stored in a luke warm freezer where the dough is stored. I've ordered calizones with extra things on them before from mazzios so how is the premade? It's not and their employees will lie to you so they dont have to do "extra" work I guess. I hate this mazzios and I have for years...I wish theyd hire a new franchise owner and hopefully quality would change. read more

Apparently they think it is more important for the staff to hear music and adjust volume continuously until customers are sufficiently angered than to take a customer suggestion to LEAVE THE FRIGGIN volume control alone. I told some female person and she told me she couldn't hear it in the kitchen. Then, I suggest management fire her and find someone who is more concerned about WORK than getting her Kenny Chesney dance step on. read more

After a long drive, we decided to stop at Mazzios. I felt so welcomed by the staff, especially Susan. She was so friendly and made us feel at home. The pizza was delicious! Good food at good prices. I got the pizza / salad bar combo and it was under $8. The salad bar had a pretty good selection, including pasta salad and potato salad. My pizza was the Greek pizza. It was really greasy, especially the bottom of the pizza, so I had to soak it up with napkins. But it tasted really good, especially the feta cheese and artichoke hearts! My husband got the chicken bacon swiss sandwich- that was also really good and less greasy than the pizza. read more

Food was cold . Salad at bar was browning not very freash looking . Pasta sounded promising but was cold and not appetizing . Service was poor woman yelled at another as we ordered while looking at us with a blank face had no personality .
