Ambiance is wonderful, service is great and the food is amazing! My three boys loved it!

Going to a Mexican restaurant while on a keto diet can be tough. Basically, all you can order is a salad. I ordered their steak salad and asked them to add avocado, sour cream and cheese. The steak was partially cut so it wasn't super easy to eat without a knife. There were a lot of huge pieces of iceberg lettuce and not a lot of the green parts. There were also carrots that I wasn't able to easily pick out. Wish I knew since I can't eat carrots on keto. I didn't end up using the dressing because it didn't seem to go well with the other flavors. It may have been a caesar dressing. Overall it tasted alright but the surprise was when we got the check and it costs $4.75 for half an avocado sliced. That is some ridiculous upcharge! The iced tea also tasted meh, watery and not fresh. If I come back here, I'd definitely go when I'm not on a strict diet. Also, I'll bring my own avocados. read more

Just left Mazatlan restaurant about 50 min ago. I mention this incase management wants to review charges and speak with waitress after looking at time stamp. My husband and I dined with my daughter and and her fiancé. My daughter and I ordered a chicken and steak fajitas and requested an extra side of beans and rice, 1/2 tortillas corn and 1/2 flour (that should be 2 tortillas of each). We also asked for some additional guacamole because a couple teaspoons between the two of us would be hard to enjoy. They do not have menus at table due to covid and we ordered as we usually would. We enjoyed our tasty mean and when we received the bill we were surprised that charged us $42 for fajitas for two, a $6 beans and rice side, a $7 tortilla side, and a $9 guacamole side. Either charge us fajitas for two or charge us for fajitas and extra side of beans/rice and guacamole, but don't charge us fajitas for two, AND extra beans and rice, AND extra guacamole AND extra tortillas. Further my daughter ordered a Shirley temple with a shot of well tequila and was charged for a shot of tequila and full price for Shirley temple in addition. Making a glorified well tequila and sprite a nearly $15 drink. The other couples who joined us at the tables had similar experiences: one ended up with a grilled chimichanga when she just wanted grilled chicken instead of shredded in her chimichanga (also paid, but didn't eat) and one person ordered a Mai tai with captain instead of well rum and was given and charged for a mai tai, a shot of captain, and a captain and coke. She returned the captain and coke. Extremely annoyed and vocalizing our questionable charges we decided her inept ability to understand anything we said warranted just splitting the bill and moving on. We gave her the bill and asked her to split it on the two cards. 10 min later she returned to tell us we needed to tip it before she could split the bill. All four of us were offended even further that she wished to know her tip before she ran the charges.... releasing us from our obligation to this restaurant. We typically tip high and all decided to do the 15% instead. It then took another 10 min for her to run this transaction. An absolutely incorrect, uncomfortable and inappropriate, situation. We typically order from this restaurant a couple times a month through Uber eats and come in every few months. After paying $220 for 2 margaritas, 1 Shirley temple with 1 shot well tequila, 1 pina colada, 2 beers, 1 appetizer, 1 burrito, and a fajita... We just can't return our business. read more

This restaurant was excellent. The decor has a lot of details that feel like they are capturing the essence of Mexico. Although recently short-staffed, the server helped us and brought all our food at an amazing speed. My wife ordered the largest margarita they had and I hate to say it, but it was too big! She also ordered the fried ice cream and it was too much for two people. I ordered the steak fajitas, as my typical favorite at a Mexican restaurant. The steak was huge and cooked to order. The grilled onion and peppers were absolutely perfect, the right amount of freshness with distinct flavor and the sweet caramelization I love. I only wish I had more time in Everett to go back again. I've been ordering Togo since covid. This place hands down gets all my props. They have never messed up 1 order. Always extra sauce and we have instructions on our diet they always kill it! The Borrego is amazing. My husband doesnt like seafood but he loves the bacon wrapped prawns. We always get the relleno with creama sauce and we are never disappointed. I highly recommend! Our server was young and you could tell it was her first job. She was not knowledgeable of the alcohol/bar menu so couldn't answer our questions related to that. She brought out the wrong kind of beer and charged us for it. She also put in the wrong dish for me. The food was mediocre and the beans smelled like they had turned. We usually order to go fiesta platters from them often and are always satisfied. This was the first time we sat and ate in the restaurant and I spent over $140 for my family to have dinner together and I won't be doing that again. read more

I came occasionally until one day I can in to pick up my food and one of the workers took me towards the back so I could pay and grab my food and after I paid he gave me my food and I proceeded to walk out and a lady who I recognized who worked there ran after me and asked DID YOU PAY??? I stopped in last night and had a great experience. The owner (Marci) was my server. I was not aware she was the owner until I was telling her how nice the experience for me was. I attempted to order an iced tea. Their equipment was down, so I pivoted to a Paloma, which was very refreshing. I did not ask what tequila was used, so their house tequila was used. The put Tajin salt around the brim. Really good. I normally do a typical burrito, but asked what she recommended. She mentioned a few of the most popular dishes and her favorite which is anything carne asada. For me she recommended a plate called Mar Y Tierra (steak, prawns and chicken) with rice, beans, pico, guacamole and tortillas. A vey large plate of food. This dish was great. Steak was tender, chicken was moist with great seasoning and the prawn was spectacular. The presentation was great and I wanted to eat it all. Thankfully I did not over due the chips and salsa, but still couldn't finish (I did finish all the protein). Definitely recommend! read more

Pretty disappointed in my food from here tonight. Nachos ended up being refried beans and cheese on a pile of dry chips. No onions, tomatoes, etc. Some salsa on the side. Took hour and a half to be ready. For $16 I'm disappointed. read more

Ordered from uber eats and it was super fast! I'd only eaten at this location one other time in person and it's been good. The prices are a bit high but as you can see you get a lot of food. I had the carne asada and my sister had two enchiladas. The guac is a little bland but fresh. Definitely have enough leftovers for another meal. read more

Bummer, I love Chile Rellenos but when I received mine I thought they were enchiladas. Mistakes happen, that's fine but then I started eating it and realized these are their Chile rellenos and yuck! I placed a takeout order here after arriving to my hotel later in the evening. The order was ready quickly in 10-20 minutes. I thought it was a bit pricey at first but the portion sizes were very large. The guacamole appetizer is substantial, chunky with fresh tomatoes and onions on top. I wish there had been more tomato and onions. The chips were mostly over done for my liking and compared to most other Mexican places I have been to. The carne asada burrito was five and could feed two average individuals. While good it was nothing that knocked my socks off. The red sauce was good and the meat inside cooked well. The tortilla seemed fresh and good but overall the dish was kind of meh. The portions were large, the turnaround for takeout fast, and the food was good but not stellar. A solid option for a meal when nearby and in need but not somewhere I'd intentionally make my way back to. read more

I just wanted to update this review because we decided to have Mazetlan cater our wedding with a taco bar. Not only was the food amazing, Marci and Ricardo were so amazing. The communication was awesome every step of the way, and they offered us the flexibility of next day pickup of their catering equipment. All of the guests were so impressed with the food! I like their food. It's decent. But ordering take out is extremely frustrating with them. They always find a way to foul our order up, no matter how clear you try to make it. Last time they forgot our sour cream. Which makes for extremely dry/plain tacos. After trying and eventually succeeding in getting them to comp it on our next order, they gave us 2 enchiladas when clearly we ordered 3. The receipt showed that. The chips are good, salsa hot. But take-out can be hit or miss. You'd be wise to check your food before leaving. read more

This is seriously one of our favorite places to eat. Everything is good and my husband stuffs himself so full he practically needs to roll out the door. He loves that they have Modelo on tap. I'll post pics of the queso and fresh guacamole, both of which were a delightful start! It was until our plates were almost empty I realized we dug in and chowed down before I got to snap pics. We had the carne asada julisco enchiladas and chicken chimmi (which had amazing flavor!). The rice is soft and cooked perfect. It honestly is the best Mexican you can find. read more

The night I went to have a great time at the bar...I didn't realize that a rock band was there. A mix of Mexican and American folklore... that food was great . We ate here at the Everett Mazatlan before a concert at the Performing Arts Theater. The restaurant is very close to the theater. The streets around there are torn up with a major refurbishing so be patient. We saw signs directing us to parking for Mazatlan. It was a garage with direct access to the restaurant. I especially liked that I did not have to go out into the cold and walk around the block. The decor had a sophisticated, modern Mexican feel to it. Carved wooden booths with stucco and brick walls. It was quite and conversations could be heard. It felt relaxing and restful. The food was plentiful and good. Our choices were the Chicken Chimichanga and Carne Asada Burritos. Service was just fine. All in all an enjoyable meal and a great Mexican restaurant. read more

First experience was a very last minute closing in 5min kinda take out. It was amazing. I can't remember what we had but we knew we were coming back. 3/16/19 we're back and able to sit at the bar and get the service we didn't experience from before. We ordered fish tacos that were dry and no taste. Fried fish plate and it was the best. Perfectly crisp and moist. Great flavors. And the cheese quesadilla was very bland. The tortilla or pita or whatever flat bread it was was stale. Cheese was just basic cheese. And Michelada was so sour and was not spicy at all. Sorry but no pic of the quesadilla. read more

Meh food, but amazing service. We came here after visor in a friend at the rehab center down the street. I'd been craving Mexican food, so we decided to give them a try. First of all, the food is pretty pricy. We tried to order on the cheap, but got out of there for over $30 for a kid's meal, taco salad and tamales. My son ordered Horchata, and it was nasty. It was almost like it had been sitting and was about to go bad. But, the star they may have lost, they gained back when they exchanged it for a soda without any issue or argument. Once our food arrived, we were pleased with the portions - my son's kid burrito plate was actually plentiful. The burrito was a great size, and he was completely full at the end. My taco salad was amazing, too - the chicken was nice and tender as well as marinated to perfection. My niece had tamales, but she said she didn't like the outside. I tried them and thought they were pretty good. All in all, it was just an ok experience. I think we would only go back if we were really hungry and in the area. read more

We ordered yesterday. The chimichanga and the mole enchiladas. When we open the take out boxes, they had put a slice of American cheese over the top of both the chimichanga and the enchiladas. When you usually order mole enchiladas it's just the mole sauce maybe a sprinkle of Mexican cheese with it, but this had an entire large slice of American cheese over the whole thing. Completely ruined the enchiladas. The chimichanga had the same thing. Big slice of American cheese over the whole thing. My husband had the chimichangas and wasn't sure they had given him the right thing and had to cut into it. His was okay. The enchiladas were not good. Could hardly taste the mole sauce which is my favorite. since it was like 40+ bucks for two meals to get DoorDash delivered, I definitely won't be ordering from here again. Not worth the money. We were there only 2 hours after they opened for their first night. The food was better than average. The staff was very pleasant and at times amusing. Just attentive enough. Drinks were better than average. The menu seemed less deep than the Mountlake Terrace location. This is now the best mexican in or near downtown Everett and i expect it will get better. read more

I arrived at 9:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night on my way to the hotel. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted and orderedmyself a drink. I ordered it with a lemon and I was served with a lime. The bartender advised me that it was a special taco Tuesday night and I could get 3 beef tacos for $6 that were also unlimited. I enjoyed the 3 tacos as it was plenty of food and did not need any more of the all you can eat special. read more
