My wife and I moved to GP a year ago, we love mexican food and have tried lots of different places, there are a lot of good ones. We found this place and by far it is the best around. The food is great tasting, big portions, try the fried tacos (I can't remember the name of them) from the combo menu, they're my favorite but everything we have eaten here is great. Most of the time there is only 1 waiter, 2 at the most but the service is always great and fast. Great margaritas too, try the cadillac one, it's my favorite. This place is down the street from Costco so we always go eat before going there. read more

True Rating: I'd give 4.5 if I could! These spot is a gem. Full of flavor, beautiful upscale setting without being over the top. Most importantly...the food!!! We dine here often. The service and food are amazing. Ambiance is beautiful, you feel like you're in Mexico. Today was my day to cook. I ordered take out. It was SO EASY! Order placed within a minute ! A $19 carne asada quesadilla. Huge. Easily could share. Lots of quac and sour cream. Chips and salsa included. Packaged in a nice foil tray. Kept it warm. This place has been a staple in town for so many years, it was so great to visit the new location, absolutely gorgeous! We ordered the steak tacos with beans and rice. It was so of the best tacos I've had in a long time. They also serve chips and salsa along with beans to dip your chips in. I was full from the dips before I even got my entree. The food is decent but we were asked to move to the bar after we had been there just under 2 hrs. It wasn't full and there were at least 4 other tables/booths available so it didn't make sense to us. We stopped her for an early dinner, around 445pm. We had never been and figured we would try it. We were SO glad we did. The restaurant was very clean. We were greeted and sat quickly. The service was good. The food WAS OUTSTANDING! I had the Rojo Tacos and they were exactly as advertised. Crunchy and juicy! They make their own horchata in house and we had to take some to go! The food portions are large and they have space for large parties. My husband has been raised on authentic Mexican cuisine and he said, "They past the bean test!", if that means anything to anyone. We have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant and especially like the salsa. As always, we were provided with the complimentary chips and salsa, then ordered a combo platter to share. We are seniors so not able to eat two separate meals. My husband asked for a little extra salsa to put on his enchilada, but he was told NO. Because we didn't order two meals they would not allow him extra salsa for his meal. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment. An extra few tablespoons of salsa should not break a restaurant, it's too bad that they left us dissatisfied. read more

The food, service and restaurant decor were spot on the one time I have visited. The evening my friend and I were there, we (unfortunately) were visiting the same evening the restaurant was mostly filled with a wedding party. The noise was deafening, and I'm not kidding. That was unpleasant. It was a relief to get outside and stop the ringing in my ears. Very good! Carlos our server, and the whole staff were excellent. It's been hard to find good service in Rogue valley, they have it! I had the Fajita Burrito at Carlos recommendation, between it and the Carne Asada burrito, great call, but will have to come back for the Carne asada. I had the Carne Asada and my wife had the Taco Salad lunch. Taco salad was nice size good portion of shredded beef; did not have any refried beans in the Taco Sald. The Carne Asada consisted of 2 very small and thin pieces of Flap meat, refried beans with cheese, Mexican rice; good rice. There was a grilled Jalapeño and 2 grilled onions that were very tiny. Dish also included guacamole and sour cream and some sort of chopped cabbage and tomato side. Taco salad was a great deal; Carne Asada was a bit skimpy for the price. read more

From the moment you approach the door, it is evident this restaurant has nice decor, is super clean, and is appealing. It is a definitely a step above most mexican strip mall restaurants. The layout & bar is welcoming. Now about the food: The chips are warm, salty & good, the salsa is excellent, and they serve the chips & salsa with a small plate of creamy refried beans - this is as first, and a great idea! Our margaritas were both excellent, and served in a nice glass with garnish on the rim. The menu has a lot of choices, and some are very unique. They offer both whole & refried beans. Our waiter was patient, add he did a great job with service. The food was really good for both my wife & I (Birria Tacos & combo cheese enchilada & chicken taco) - Problem: We were stuffed, more than I can remember anytime recently! When the check came, the pricing was reasonable for the quality of the place, and the service & quantity of food. If we lived here, we would be regulars, without a doubt! read more

You can tell a lot about a Mexican Restaurant from the beans they serve. These beans are straight out the tin can. My raw oysters that were supposed to be cold, seemed as if they were sitting in the hot sun. Rest of the food is very bland even their Micheladas lacks the taste of authenticity. Pretty disappointing . . . my wife and I wanted to try the new location to see how it stacked up against Comal. We showed up for dinner around 6:30 - the place was busy, but not packed. Chips and salsa were delivered promptly. However, that must have made us invisible as we waited and waited for someone to take our order. There were two waiters in the dining room, and not so much as "I'll be there to help you shortly." The waiter in our section walked by our table several times - not even a glance or nod of acknowledgment. He seemed to be attentive to his other tables however. When one of the assistants came by to offer more chips and salsa I asked her if someone could please come and take our order. Finally, our waiter arrived. Nearly 20 minutes had passed. I wonder how long it would have taken if I hadn't asked. Food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Food was OK, although not as good as at the former location. My dish was supposed to have chicken and fish in addition to the shrimp - none was in evidence. $8 for a 5oz pour of box cab. Meh. We probably won't be back. Comal it is. read more

Ate once in restaurant, once for take out. Good: Decor, drinks, chips & salsa, service. Bad: Food is average, and not worth going back a second time (my mistake). Booth seats are extremely uncomfortable. If you deal with back pain, use the standard seats. If you're going for drinks, and sit in the bar, you should have a good experience. read more

We planned on going to Crater Cafe for Easter brunch with the family but when we arrived it was closed for the day, on our way to another restaurant we saw Mazatlan Grill from the road and decided to try it - to our wonderful surprise the space was warmfuly modern with artfully crafted decorations, I felt like we stepped into a restaurant at The Domain in Austin Texas. Food was good. We were excited that we didn't have to wait until arriving in Tacoma, WA to eat at Mazatlan. The chicken molé was good, but not as spicy as it used to be. Hubby was disappointed that the tortillas weren't homemade. My son said his Alambre was really good(beef, bacon, cheese, Bell peppers, and onions). I had the taco and enchilada(shredded beef). It was good, the meat was tender, but there were thick pieces. Service was great though. Definitely didn't have to ask for refills. Oh, and the horchata was really good. It had more rice flavor than sugar like most places. Looking forward to trying the margaritas next time. read more

I purchased a large salsa two weeks ago. When I picked it up the gentleman that helped me explained that they now charge a $1.50 for the bag that the items go in. He also said that because I was just purchasing salsa he wouldn't charge me. Today my husband went to purchase the salsa again and was charged $1.50 extra. When I called to find out about the extra charge I was told that it is now a surcharge. I paid $1.50 for a ten cent white lunch sized bag. I will not be buying anything from this restaurant again. Very disappointed in the service. I would happily take my salsa without a lunch bag! read more
