This place is great. We love their food and every time we go there the service is on point. Its a good place to take the family or for a date night. Great dining experience @ Comal in Central Point, OR. ! Beautifully upgraded and renovated Mexican Restaurant. We had the pleasure of dining here when it was the previous restaurant, so I have to say, they did an amazing job on the new layout and decor! The wait staff was top notch. Our server, Jason, was friendly, professional, and attentive. He checked in on us regularly and made our experience complete. We arrived around 5 pm, and the Restaurant wasn't that busy, so our food came out hot, fresh, and quick. We enjoyed our meals very much, including the chips & salsa. The food is very good. The problem is service. I stopped phoning in my take-out orders because they would frequently screw it up. And of course, you don't discover this until you get with the food. Now I go there and place the order in person, often pointing to the items on their menu so there is no miscommunication. And they still manage to screw things up. Last night I ordered a Fajita Taco Salad with chicken for my wife. I get home and it's carne asada, not chicken. Taking her dinner back while the other food gets cold is not practical. And on another recent trip I ordered the Birria Tacos WITH rice & beans (which costs extra). They charged me for the rice & beans, but I get home and you guessed it - no rice & beans. We are about to give up on Comal Bar & Grill and start going across the street to Mazatlan. read more

Couldn't get more salsa and chips and the staff ran around but never would even check on our table. I used to like this place but this was the worst $140 I have spent in awhile. read more

This is our go to Mexican food joint. Always pick up and bring home so we aren't familiar with the ambiance. Larger portions but great quality. Full of flavor and favorites are steak fajitas, enchiladas mole, and one of the specials. Giving a 4 because we ask for shredded beef and they have used ground beef in error. I don't know what the flavor was but it was rather chemical, not only that but it said it had rice and beans inside also and all I got was this mushy beef with a piece of rice mixed in here and there. Would you like plates? 4) when we cut burrito 1/2, one half was all sauce - the other half had all the meat. I guess you can say 1/2 was ok? Certainly, not great! 5) price is high! Approx cost of one burrito (actually, 1/2 burrito, since 1/2 was all sauce) 1 margarita and 1 corona was about $40. They did give 25% off for the mishap - but certainly not worth the return. I've really tried to give this restaurant a chance because it's convenient and I don't like to judge a restaurant based on one dining experience. I went in for lunch and they serve me stale chips that tasted like they were cooked in old grease, The salsa wasn't fresh either. The first time I went in alone and ordered a Arroz con Pollo and They put peas in it, and I couldn't find a single mushroom to save my life and they forgot to put the jack cheese over the rice before they put the chicken and sauce over the rice. if any of you don't know what this is a Mexican version of chicken and rice usually served with a rich sauce over the top but that wasn't the case and the chicken was tough. They just don't act like they care. My wife really wanted to try it even after I told her my experience and she said well maybe they're having a bad day so we went again and I went for a traditional dish, I ordered two enchiladas, rice and beans off the dinner menu wife ordered the Carne Asada. They are still using that same overcooked chicken for the chicken enchiladas and the Carne Asada steak was not good. I had a bite of it and it just seemed tough with a little bit of gristle. The chips and salsa tasted exactly the same as it did the first time I was there I wondered to myself could it be that they held them that long? I mean this was two weeks later. They need to change their oil and serve fresh hot chips. As far as their salsa goes, they just need to start over. Look a recipe up online for crying out loud. It's just not that hard to make a good tasting salsa. It's like this restaurant goes out of their way to be bad food. The final straw was when my son had it delivered by DoorDash and ordered enchiladas. My son will eat anything and won't complain. He didn't even finish half his dinner before he lost interest. I know this is a pretty scathing review, but I don't tolerate poor restaurants. go anywhere else and you'll get better food than this. read more

I was dining in with a friend catching up; we were sitting at the bar and so was an employee just getting off work. My friend and I were having a conversation and were shocked at the volume and tone this manager had with the employee. This manager(Eric) demanded the employee to return and "redo her report" in a demeaning harsh tone and manner in front of other employees and customers at the bar, this was all out loud and in Spanish. I was embarrassed for the employee and shocked at the manager for having a disrespectful demeanor in a public environment, instead of asking to speak to her in a more private setting WITHOUT ATTITUDE OR RUDE GESTURES. read more

My first time at El ComAl in Central Point ordered a tostada it was 12.95 I don't eat meat so I asked if they could substitute my meat for rice over the beans when I paid they charged me $2.60 for a couple of tablespoons of rice on my tostada..really..meat cost alot more than a few tablespoons of rice ..how rude service was horrible and after paying almost three dollars for a very small amount if rice I know I will never go back or recommend to anyone better off going to Taco Bell.. read more

They ran out of guacamole which was not prepared tableside, the staff was unpleasant and didn't look like they wanted to be there, and the place felt unwelcoming and very drab. But let's get to the food...I asked the waiter what the ingredients were of the salsa, and he could not tell me; my food was cold; I ordered fajitasthe chip basket was never offered to be filled along with drinks...bad service and lousy food..nothing authentic about this place I do not recommend it.
