I got my to-go order home, opened it immediately, and the taquitos were completely ruined. They had piled guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, and red sauce on top so instead of being crispy, they were gelatinous, slimy, and soaking wet. That might work for a dine-in plate, but for a to-go order it makes zero sense. By the time I opened it, the food was inedible. My husband did order it A la carte to try and avoid this exact situation. At the very least considering it was a to go order they should be more mindful of how things keep in a hot foil wrapped plate. I called to address it, and the employee was incredibly unhelpful. They kept insisting on speaking to my husband, even though I paid for the food and I'm the one calling. That was frustrating and completely inappropriate. At the end of the day, I paid for food that was prepared in a way that didn't withstand travel(mind you it's only 5 minutes from my home)and couldn't even be eaten, and the customer service made the situation worse instead of trying to fix it. Really disappointing experience all around.

The service was wonderful! All the people there were kind and attentive. We were catching up, so we chatted for a while before ordering. The server brought us chips, salsa, and drinks and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu. We were all hungry, so we decided to share the Molcajete dish. It came with a side of rice, beans, and guacamole. And tortillas. We ordered additional tortillas, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Carne asada, pollo asada, shrimp, nopales (cactus), chorizo, fresh cheese, grilled scallions... so delicious!!

I give El Charro Viejo its dues. They have some good authentic Mexican food. They get this Californian's approval! My brother had the Mar y Tierra and I just went with some carne asada nachos. From the customer service to the food, it was all good! I really enjoyed the Mexican art as well. Only complain was they only have one restroom for the whole restuarant.

I ordered the Carne Asada, no beans, no rice, no tortillas, added avocado, guacamole, and sour cream. My husband had Molcajete Charro, no beans, rice or tortillas, had a side salad instead. The meals were great but not over the top spectacular. With our alterations to the meals, I expected less, but received more! So on that note, I appreciate that they go out of their way to be sure your meal is prepared very well. Nice accommodations, and very accommodating staff. Music is played in the background so that you can have a nice conversation and enjoy your meals. We will be back.

Hopefully this is the same business listed on the grants Pass growers market website. They had a crowd all morning!! Between breakfast items and regular tacos and burritos, the food smelled and tasted amazing. Walking the growers market we decided to grab breakfast burritos from the El charro food truck but ended up with ordering carne asada tacos. They have a regular which comes with guacamole onions and cilantro or a mini that has no guacamole. AMAZING. Hours later we are still talking about the tacos. Go there and get you some delicious food.

Just look at that cheese, be still my heart!

It's time I updated this place to 5 stars. We lived in Grants Pass for 4 years and this was one of our go to Mexican places to eat. When we came back into town for business yesterday we came here for dinner, and all I can say is wow, did they hire a new cook? The food last night was absolutely outstanding! I ordered my recent favorite, the skirt steak combo with the chilli relleno, and I almost licked the plate clean! The relleno was super good, and all the flavors were so on point. It was good before but this time I felt was an upgrade to tasty land. I will come here for Mexican every time we are in town!! See you soon guys!!

Tlali does this through every layer of the experience, from the artwork on the walls to the colors and textures of the space, and into the richness and intention of the food itself. Pink is my favorite color because it represents the heart, and this place is pure heart. While the prices may be a bit higher than some Mexican restaurants in town, what you are truly investing in is care, integrity, high quality ingredients, and an environment that feels genuinely good to be in. This is food that loves you back. It is worth it, and your body will be happy for it. Everything is made fresh daily, including the tortillas and salsas, and you can taste the difference immediately. There is something sacred about eating food that is prepared with respect, presence, and ancestral remembrance. Every bite feels intentional. The staff are radiant. Always smiling, always kind, always vibrant. It is beautiful to witness people who are clearly supported and happy in their work, and that energy carries straight to the table. Every time I eat here, I feel a deep sense of home and community. I feel held and welcomed. Tlali is a true gift to Ashland, and I am so thankful they are sharing their culture, their sparkly magic, their art, and their heart with this community. This place is special, and you can feel it the moment you walk in.

The cocktails were extremely well made and beautifully presented. The mixed salsa appetizer (Salsas y Tostadas) is a must to try ~10 different house-made salsas. The taco plate (Tacos de Carnitas) was the standout entree but we enjoyed them all. The flan dessert was solid. Only downside was due to popularity it was quite loud and the music bass was turned up so loud it was irritating and difficult to hear. Next time we will ask for the quieter, "secret garden" seating outside in the rear. All employees were friendly and they even squeezed us in last minute without a reservation! Not cheap, but a great date night spot.

We ordered the asada gourmet tacos $10, asada burrito $10, and Combo 1 pork pupusa with fried plantains and rice & beans $5.50. My favorite was the pupusa. Soft, cheesy, and good flavor. The sides of salsa were sooo good with everything. Their tacos came with handmade tortillas and the "guacamole" was perfect. Again, add some of that salsa with it. Now, I don't typically like my asada burritos with beans, so I asked if it could be made without it. They said the beans were mixed with the rice. I decided to just try it in the burrito. The rice & beans was soooo good, even on its own! Black beans is definitely the way to go. I was also surprised that I liked the fried plantains. I've tried a it a couple times in other places in the past, even a few spots in Miami. However, I was never really fond of them. It's still not something I would regularly order if it wasn't included as a side, but this place was the best I've ever had. This food truck is not pretentious and you get a lot of food for your money. Go check them out.
