Amazing. We were able to place a last-minute catering order for our baby shower, and Casa Amiga came through! They've catered other events I've attended in the past, and this time they worked with us on ridiculously short notice--just 23 hours, lol. Great prices and communication. All we had to do was pick up the food before the event (which came in a convenient refrigerated container for easy transport). We ordered two trays of 24 tacos--carne asada, chicken, and carnitas--along with generous portions of toppings, beans, rice, chips, salsa, and sauces. The food was fresh, and our guests were well-fed and happy. Side note: I dined in once years ago for a large family gathering and remember being really pleased. WOW!! What an incredible experience at this restaurant! We had a a group of 20 for a celebration and our original restaurant had to close when we showed up! Casa Amiga not only accommodated us last minute, they did it twice as we had two people from our group call at the same time LOL. Luckily it came together without having to set up for two groups but they were so very gracious about the whole thing. The service could not have been any better! The staff was so attentive and friendly, every single one of them! We had our order taken and served surprisingly fast. Never had to ask for water refills. Plenty of chips and bean dip for all! The food was fresh and delicious to boot! I just can't believe how wonderful it all turned out. I would highly recommend and plan to go back anytime we visit the area. The food was just ok. I had the chicken tortillas soup, bland no spice, just tasted like chicken soup with too many soggy tortilla chips. My husband ordered the shredded beef taco combination plate, I had a beef taco. We both found the beef under seasoned, bland and the beef wasn't very shredded. The food is excellent. Went to an event where this food was catered. I almost forgot how great this restaurant is. I'll make sure next time we're in the mood for Mexican food to go to the restaurant. This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have ever experienced, and I almost missed it. Traveling through from out of town and I asked the front desk of our hotel, "if you had one last meal in Grants Pass, where would you go?" She said Casa Amiga. WOW was she correct. Incredible food. The salsas are homemade. Highly recommend the carnitas plate - so tender and so, so good. Great service - came by enough to check on us but not too much. We even got to meet the owners. But just the other day I had my favorite burrito. They make a killer machaca (sp?) burrito stuffed until it almost exploding on the plate! All wrapped up in a steamed flour tortilla, ladled with their red diablo sauce (wet), sprinkled with white cheese and set on a platter. Man, it's all you'll be able to eat all day. I think it's one of my favorite Mexican joints in GP. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is festive with colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling. For 10 years now, my wife and I have been enjoying the food, the excellent service, and just the care that Jose and staff put into every dish they create!! We've eaten at the restaurant, gotten takeout countless times, eaten at Grants Pass Downs during the race meet, and had Casa catered events! Never once have we had anything other that excellent food, service and a positive attitude from the efficient, friendly group of people. Mucho Macho Nachos, Burritos, tacos, and a bunch else, have all been fantastic. By now, after 10 years here in Grants Pass, we've eaten at every Mexican restaurant in town, and we always comeback to Casa Amiga! Sorry but to those giving this place 5 stars...what the what??? Yikes. Usually Yelp doesn't let me down this badly, but today it did. First off let me say that I know my Mexican food! I know when its authentic and good, or Americanized and good. Or when its just downright neither. Sad to say, this place is neither. First off, thickly cut cold tortilla chips served with refried beans and zero salsa, just spicy hot sauces in open bottles. Not great. I ordered my all time favorite Mexican dish, that I usually get in order to judge how much I might like a Mexican place. I get the Chili Verde plate. If they can't do that right, I do not have high hopes for anything else. And my Chili Verde tasted flat out weird. Honestly it tasted kind of like, really swine-y. Just an odd flavor and to be honest I was not sure if that sauce flavor was supposed to taste that way or was kind of spoiled. Either way I just did not like it at all. The refried beans had NO melted cheese on top, just a sprinkling of the dry white flavorless cheese. The rice was bland and boring. The tortillas were also boring, much like Mission tortillas from the grocery store. Sadly, when a place is this big a disappointment I just won't come back, there are way too many other Mexican options in town to try. Don't waste your time, Chief. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find: -EXCELLENT Customer Service -Authentic Mexican food (not at all greasy) -Hearty Portions *thumbs up* -Reasonable Prices -Complimentary chips served with a couple of bottles of salsas to choose from. Edible but not good. I don't know what all the hype is about. We came from San Jose, CA (lots of great taquerias to choose from) and have lots of homemade Mexican food all the time in our family and this just wasn't good. I can make better by myself at home. My burrito had 3 tiny slices of completely brown avocado on it, like who wants THAT? That should be common sense for a restaurant. The carne has absolutely no flavor. I don't think they seasoned it at all. Beans have no flavor, either. Honestly, everything was pretty bland. Only thing that gave it flavor was the quacamole I stole from my husband's plate and their salsa. Chips aren't good either...hubby had the carne platter and he said well never go back, and I agree.
