Awesome little hideout. In the back of the gas station which was pretty odd but the food more than made up for it. They had crawfish actually flown in live from Louisiana. Amazing inexpensive food. Not a place to miss. read more

Broke my heart when they moved to the other end of Logan, however the payoff is a larger, more consistent menu. Everything I've tried has been at least semi-authentic and always very tasty. An opportunity to experiment with unusual items for the valley. Last time we tried fried oysters, marvelous and the hushpuppies were hushpuppies. The staff has always been very accomodating and friendly. I can't recommend it highly enough! read more

We were camping at Hyrum State Park but it was a rainy afternoon so we decided to go out to eat for lunch. I picked MayMoes based on the great reviews and the fun Cajun menu. It's a fast casual restaurant so you order and then take a seat. I ordered the zoodles with chicken in a slightly spicy cream sauce that was delicious. My husband really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. It was loaded with pork and a great bbq sauce. Then we split an order of fresh hot delicious beignets. Our meal was served quickly and the manager came over to make sure everything was alright. We'll definitely eat here again when we're in the area. read more

If I could give this place -10 stars I would. IT IS HORRIBLE! Even if I weren't from New Orleans my opinion would be the same!!! The grilled cheese shrimp sandwich had wayyyy too much cheese and maybe 1 shrimp total and 1 tiny scallop. I couldn't eat it so I sent it back and the fried shrimp were just as bad. Jambalaya and red beans looked like they had been cooked last week. Save your money, eat at McDonalds! read more

We went to Maymoes after a trip to New Orleans to see how it compared to the food we ate in Louisiana. Well, it exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds. The food was exceptional. We had delicious jambalaya and a burger to see both sides of their food. When we were walking out, we just kept going on and on about what we wanted to try next time. That's the kind of restaurant people want to go to! In addition, the service made everything that much better. The staff was well educated and quick to give thoughts and opinions. Not to mention, quick and efficient. We can't wait to go back. read more

Landed in Logan on the way home from a three week road trip out west. Landed at MayMoes because I knew I wanted some fried catfish. Not only was this the best meal we had on our vacation but it is the best food we've had in a very long time. Five stars are not enough! Also James was a peach. He couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. read more

Amazing food & great service, everyone is so friendly. I will definitely eat here again! We absolutely loved the food here, everything we've ate was delicious. read more

I was disappointed with the food. I have had real cajun food before in other parts of the country and this just didn't do it for me. I am not from here originally and have noticed that food here tends to be sweeter and less flavorful. My husband calls this 'Utah Cajun'. Service was fantastic, but I won't be back. read more

About the duck slammies: the bread was amazing, the frog legs were wonderful, the duck meat was cooked perfectly BUT I was not impressed with this specific meal! The shammies filling was half fat half meat and for the high price there was not a lot of food!! I'll probably try these guys again but no wow factor yet. :( read more

MayMoes - Great frog legs but disappointing duck slammies - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Logan, Utah

Cajun cuisine in Northern Utah? Don't doubt, just try it! Everything we've tried has been awesome, and we've always been treated exceptionally well. Seafood is always perfectly cooked, which is critical when you're this far inland. They nail our order every time with accuracy and execution. read more

Just tried here for the first time, and it was fantastic! I had the shrimp poboy and my mom had the fried catfish, both were delicious! The fries are the thin cut and seasoned perfectly. But even better than the food was the service. The gentleman that took our order was beyond friendly and super helpful. Both he and the owner stopped by our table multiple times to check on us and even brought us a free dessert to sample. Amazing service. Will definitely be back! read more

I'm visiting my daughter from texas! Well went here for lunch! I must say some pretty amazing food! You know its good when all the working men lunch there. Some of the best Catfish and hush puppies I've have taste like a touch of New Orleans! Well most definitely come again! read more

This place is awesome I've eaten here twice these burgers rate high on my list. I love a good burger and am always in search of new hidden gem. They got special version of fry sauce they is just perfect highly recommend read more

Great food at a reasonable price. The specials are incredible. Very authentic. The food seems to be prepared fresh and fairly quickly. I will definitely be back. read more

If you've ever been to NOLA it's as close as your ever going to get outside the state. Seriously don't go anywhere else. Never has shrimp this fresh anywhere off the coast, the bread is perfect, the sauces are perfect. It's amazing. Seriously, if you're in Logan, why go anywhere else. My only "complaint" is his roast beef recipe is different from what I'm used to at my favorite place in Metarie, LA. That's hardly a complaint. read more

I only have one complaint. The shrimp pasta is a little skimpy on the shrimp. I only got 3 pieces in my whole dish. Will stick with the chicken. Other than that, fantastic food and sad to see them move. **updating to a 5 for owner response and the food really is great. read more

This place has truly tasty Cajun food! I was so impressed. Wish it was in my town. We were just visiting in Logan.

This is a pretty cool place. It's in the back of a gas station, but the food is restaurant quality. It's best that you think of this place as a restaurant where you can gas up rather than a place to get gas station food. I've been three times and got a burger, a seafood platter, and a lunch special. All were different and all were tasty. My only complaint is the portion size, but maybe that's because it's just that good. read more

Seriously the best Cajun food. If you desire authenticity this is the place to go! Staff is friendly, extremely friendly from the front house to the back. So similar to the New Orleans culture. Very passionate environment! I ordered the special mahi mahi etoufee. I'm pretty particular with the way my fish is cooked , especially being from Hawai'i, expectations are high. They perfectly cooked the fish! So perfect and honestly what restaurant in Utah has mahi mahi on their menu for a reasonable price. You ABSOLUTELY have to order the beignet's. The taste was spectacular from the first bite to the last. It was like eating a sugary cloud from heaven! Seriously. I'm sad we were just passing through, but now when I'm traveling I'll be sure to set my travels with a stop at MAYMOE'S read more

My wife and I stopped by here because we were passing through Logan and it was recommended to us by a family member and Google. We got the chicken poboy with sides of jambalaya and hush puppies and some beignets for dessert. We were so impressed! The service was incredible and far exceeded expectations. It took less than five minutes to get our food. The price was less than what I would have expected for somewhere with comparable style and portion sizes. Kaden at the front was able to give us great recommendations and tricks to get the most out of the menu, and was a perfect example of the Southern charm that the restaurant radiates. If you find yourself in Logan, be sure to stop by! read more

MayMoes - Chicken poboy with a side of jambalaya and hush puppies, along with their amazing sauce! - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Logan, Utah

Delicious food! Everything we've tried we've loved. The staff is very helpful and the owner is so kind- talk about genuine southern hospitality! Some of our favorites dishes are the red beans and rice, all the bisques, catfish and the chicken. read more

Wow. No. No. No. The best thing about this place is the fancy chalkboard menu (even though it includes no description of items). What's a "Utah Burger"? No idea. ‍ -$70 and not one of us enjoyed our meal. -Fries arrived cold-not semi-hot, but cold. The food runner was apologetic, and then never returned with new fries. -Fried Green Tomatoes-batter not even attached. Yeah, no, yuck. read more

This is a strangely located restaurant in the back of a gas station. It got really busy at lunch which leads me to believe it is really popular. Food was okay and unique cajun offerings. Beignets were not up to par. The person who waited on us was very friendly and happy to explain menu and options. But were not overly impressed. May go back, but not for awhile. read more

Everything I've had here is delicious. Veggies are perfectly seasoned and never soggy, the burgers are juicy and full of unexpected flavors...today I had the monte cristo (a special I hope they'll make a regular thing) and it was incredible. Helpful and friendly service too. read more

This is the best food in the Valley, but probably also the best in Northern Utah! His food is DELICIOUS and he is kind and caring. He actually cares about the food he serves and the people eating it! He does so much for the community, and a lot of it he doesn't advertise. His food reminds me of being back in Florida and I especially make sure to stop in anytime he's serving gator because I haven't found many places that can do it half as well as he does! The place is also SO clean, even on busy nights, I don't know how they keep up with everything so well, but seriously, love it! read more

More than a restaurant, they support the community and in return the community supports them. The food is amazing! Can't go wrong with BBQ burger and fries. Their baked beans are insane! Highly recommended. They know southern food as well as southern hospitality. read more

I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is amazing and the service is excellent! And their menu has a good variety, but not so big you can't make up your mind what to order. The shrimp and grits are hands down the best we have ever eaten. The staff are very friendly and interact with everyone. Can't wait to go back! read more

A little dive that is amazing! The shrimp are huge and succulent. The creole seasoning is perfect. My son cat the catfish...he's 12 and was in heaven! Will be eating here often! read more

We were passing through Logan and needed a spot to eat. Maymoes had high reviews so I called to see if dine-in options were available...COVID right. A guy named James answered and told me that dine-in is an option but good luck because tables were full. He was more playful with it and not mean about it. But a place with no availability has got to be good so we stopped anyway. Lo and behold James greeted us at the front and sat us immediately. This guy had much passion for the place he worked and the food he served. He was hustling all over the place to greet customers and clear tables. His attitude was welcoming and treated everyone like family. Food was out quick and was great tasting. I had the catfish PO boy. The bread was light fluffy and tasty. The fish was fried Golden, light, and not greasy at all. Red beans and rice had just a slight kick to keep me interested. Homemade sauces were tasty. The blue ranch was a bit odd...mostly because it was blue. Once you get past that, it's a good tasting ranch to dip perfectly fried French fries. This is a long way of saying stop by and here because the food is great and you won't be disappointed. Ah man! I forgot to talk about the beignets....delicious. read more

MayMoes - Catfish po boy with red beans & rice - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Logan, Utah

Everything my family of six tried was excellent, except the kids chicken strips. If you are even thinking of ordering those, DON'T!! The restaurant should be embarrassed that they even serve something like this. The two strips that come in the meal were not any bigger than the French fries. The most miniature chicken strips that I have ever seen and wouldn't even satisfy a 2 year old, let alone my 11 year old who ordered it. I don't like paying for a meal for my child and they still leave the restaurant hungry. read more

First time here. Shrimp and Grits!!! Even if you don't like grits you'll love this dish. Along with amazingly authentic beignets. I can't wait to drive the 60 miles from my house to try something else. read more

I like this place overall, especially when they were up north in that gas station. However, I went there last week and was excited to show new friends the restaurant and food options. We waited in line forever as there was a huge group in front of us with a lot of unsupervised children (not the restaurants fault I know). People just don't watch their kids anymore, running around all over. Anyway, the place is just loud in general with the high ceilings. Ok so, the food. I ordered the shrimp PO boy, as I have many times before, but it was terrible. The bread, which I typically love, was frozen, FROZEN! I ended up picking off the cold shrimp to eat, along with the lettuce and tomato. I was so bummed, that place is usually very consistent. My girlfriend and I paid $30 for a very small lunch. I'll go back and give it one more try, but honestly, my last visit was absolutely terrible. read more

I had heard great things about this place and was always reading about the charitable good works the owner does (Though my opinion greatly diminished when I learned that after the first organic coverage after he offered free meals during a flood and got statewide and viral online attention, he now regularly does it and then immediately informs the press for more coverage. Still charitable, BUT...) and finally decided to go in when the child of a family friend started working there to get money for his mission I went in to surprise them. The owner made my burger and it was *terrible*. It was cooked ok if you like it raw in the middle, but the seasoning was AWFUL. Way, way, way too much seasoning. I like things spiced inferno hot but this was unreal and totally inedible. I asked my waiter about it and they got very embarrassed. Later, after asking why on earth the owner couldn't make a decent burger, I found out the owner was on serious amounts of medication and often was during work. I asked if it was legal and they said that it was, he had a problem with his foot or ankle. They said he pops prescription drugs like candy all shift long and that they had asked other people for their medication multiple times. Food screw ups are common with him, but his staff does all they can to cover it up. Apparently it is the unspoken secret that isn't really a secret. This is not someone I want preparing my food. However, this experience was also some time back and I have also had a brother with life long pain that spiraled into an addiction and so I was hoping that with time he got help and decided to give it another try. This time, someone else cooked my food and it was ok. Not really up to the standards of the ravings of other people but it was pretty decent Cajun food. Thus the 3 stars instead of 1. So, I guess go there if you want something different but I would still treat it with some hesitation. And pay attention to who cooks your food. I'm not looking for explanations or excuses or denials from the owner (which I expect are coming along with a whole bunch of huffiness from reading responses to other negative reviews I have seen online). I have heard them all from other addicts spawning from legitimate injury. I feel for you but this is a warning to the consumer. read more

Full disclosure up front. I know the owner. Having tasted his food before, I came here with high expectations. I was not disappointed. The food arrived hot and fast. The staff were professional and courteous. Today was catfish Friday. The fish were perfectly cooked, tender and moist. The shrimp add on were also done right. Had crab cakes as a special. Pan fried with tons of crab and few fillers, they and the baked beans were the best I have ever had. The fries are hot and crispy with a tasty seasoning perfectly applied. My seafood adverse wife had the mushroom burger. She said it was very good. If you knew her, you'd know that is high praise. MayMoes is located at the back of the Tesoro gas station. You order your food, pick out your drinks from the convenience store and sit in the table or booths in the back. Spread the news about this tasty, Cajun, Creole, Southern treat. Call ahead and take it to go too. One negative for two of our party. The southern hillbilly music made our ears bleed. Obviously, the member of our party, Keith, was raised to appreciate weird whining sounds. Some southern rock would be better. read more

Walking into here I had high expectations. I feel like the meals could have came with more for the price. I got shrimp, fries and slaw. I only got 7 small shrimps in my meal which was highly disappointing. The slaw I feel like could be more juicy. My husband got a pork Sandwhich, it was good but I feel like it could have came with more. Overall I give 3 stars. read more

Good burgers and po boys. Looks sketchy from the outside but comfortable and clean inside.

I had never heard of this place before but I was scrolling on Instagram looking for places to eat in Salt Lake being new to the area and after searching I came across this place. I made a trip 3 weeks ago late on a Friday after seeing a special of the day come across on Instagram. Needless to say, not only was I amazed, it was the best meal I have had in years. I will make the drive again. I am now dating someone since I moved to Salt Lake and we may come for Valentine's on the 13th. If you have never eaten there you are surely missing out. read more
