I just moved out of this building, and I had to come leave a review. The building manager at this place is the best I've ever had. She's wonderful. Always willing to help and listen, and if there's ever a problem, she makes sure it gets taken care of as soon as possible.
There is VERY limited parking in this building, so if you do move in there, even if you don't have a car but are planning on getting one in the near future, get on the waiting list for parking. Otherwise, you're left to street parking, which is hard to come by, and you have to contend with street sweeping.
I would have preferred better laundry facilities, but they're not bad, and the building is gorgeous. It's a 1920s building for bachelors, complete with shoe portals for the maid to pick up your shoes to shine (no longer in use).
It's a secure building, blocks from Lake Merritt, the casual SF carpool meets at the Valero station just down the street, BART is just around the lake, and the NL bus line will also get you to SF from just down at Grand Ave. Nice spot for an SF commuter without a car. Overall, I will miss this building. read more
