So pretty
Cecilia H.

I wanted to have afternoon tea while in London and found out about this place. I was excited that they had vegan and vegetarian afternoon tea. We were immediately greeted and sat since I made reservations online. Customer Service was amazing and we were checked on often. The food was so good and there was nothing we didn't like. When I am in London again, I will definitely be returning.

3 layers of decadence

Visiting my son who booked the chocolate high tea service. FANTASTIC! The atmosphere was swank-of course. But the food was really impressive. I'd planned on trying a variety of English teas and this was the perfect time. I tried each one and our waiter, Janos, was quite helpful. He even let us have extra sandwiches. His service was impeccable without being stuffy. Which was unexpected because there were folks there dressed to impress but I'd been up 24 hours traveling and looked like hell. But he treated us just as well! Be sure to try the hot chocolate! The sandwiches look so plain with that soft, white bread. But they tasted so good that we ordered some duplicates. All included in the price. The scones were nice but I prefer clotted cream to chantilly whatever they served. Don't get me wrong, we finished that too. The chocolates at the top were fabulous. So decadent! Tiny, little tiramisu! I wished I had room left because they would have brought more! Don't miss this if you want to try a proper English tea service and love chocolate!

I slouched on the rotating armchair with the 3 tier afternoon tea served up in front of me, as my eyes worked from top to bottom admiring the pattisier's work, the engaging colours and arrangement of the food and begin to wonder how I should approach it. [pic] the most eye catching, colourful, sinful desserts are strategically placed on top. And so, I started with the savoury sandwiches which constitues of: 1. treacle cured salmon, lemon mayo and watercress 2. roast ham, piccalili, mustard cress 3. cucumber cream cheese, dill on tomato bread 4. somerset brie with plum chutney. The bread had dried out forming a slight crust, not visible to the naked eye but was undeniable when we ate. The quality of the bread was only merely average and the filling was so thin that it seemed tightwad. The scones were very buttery (and nice butter too) but were a little dry. The selection of cakes and fancies did better than the savouries. We had strawberry macaroon, millionaire shortbread, fruit tartlet, super moist chocolate cake, pimms jelly and chocolate eclair. The winner was the super moist chocolate cake followed by a highly commended fruit tartlet. The May Fair Kitchen was very comfortable and I could imagine myself quite happy being left alone in my own world, sipping the bottomless tea and coffee. Luckily they gave me a doggy bag to take, because I am not quite used to eating so many sweets at once. I hope that my lucky trail is a never ending path because afternoon tea is something I could have more often. Especially when it is an indulgent one. Cheers!

It was like watching surgeons work together.....bravo to them all for providing such wonderful service and making each dish a standout. Open air kitchen where the grilling is done counter side. Fresh fish galore (it's on ice within eye view) the fish is selected and grilled based on order. This tapas hot spot should be top on your list of places to eat. Sharing plates is all the lure of these dishes. I have never been a fan of peppers but these grilled padron peppers with oil and sea salt were superb. The ribeye cap was bought to use with a large serving spoon it was beyond tender (yes the spoon was adequate to cut this succulent meat). It took barely any effort to chew since it was so perfectly prepared. The grilled octopus with paprika was the phenomenal. We should have ordered a second serving, it was a real palette teaser. The prawns were a lot of work and extremely hot, they were bought straight out the skillet to table so pack on the patience removing the shell. The mini meatballs along with the grilled squid with ink sauce is a must try when selecting items from the menu. Don't leave without ordering the flan, it was probably the best I ever tasted. Thank you for a memorable birthday dinner, Barrafina gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

The restaurant was a little small but it was cozy and the atmosphere was perfect for a girls or date night. My favorite was the tuna tartar tostada and hummus and pumpkin tostada. This was probably my favorite restaurant while visiting. My absolute favorite tapa was the tuna tartar tostadas. We also got the lamb, albondigas, and sliders. We didn't leave a crumb! My sister and her husband also ordered the hummus tostadas, roasted cauliflower, and grilled carrots. She's not the biggest tapas fan so I was so glad she enjoyed the food as well. We got a pitcher of red sangria to add to the experience and ended dinner with the Pan de Elote, which was quite the crowd pleaser. The restaurant is definitely in the "it" part of the city, lots of foot traffic and so many things going on around the place. The setup is real cool too. We sat at the bar, which is right in front of the kitchen so you get to watch as the cooks prepare the dishes. The service was real fast too. It is a bit on the pricey side, but if you don't mind splurging a bit, it's definitely worth trying!

Date-night-worthy Italian…read more My wife and I came here for an early dinner date while we were in London without kids and were impressed. We got the meatballs arancini balls on pea pesto, papardelle with wild mushrooms, rigatoni with basil pesto burrata and pistachios, and potted tiramisu. The standouts were the aracini, burrata, and tiramisu, but everything was quite good. The arancini were good for what they were but helped a lot by the being paired with pea pesto. I now wish arancini was plated on top of a counter-balancing sauce or food more often. The burrata was just fantastic and combining with pistachios and basil pesto brought the whole dish together in a way that really pushed things beyond the norm. The tiramisu came in a pot with a mint leaf sticking out the top. As with the other standouts, the tiramisu itself was good, but the whole presentation just really nailed things. The mint leaf went beyond decorative to actually boosting the whole dish. They also had a solid wine list and were willing to let us re-cork and take the rest of the bottle back to the hotel.

So you have to try the pasta. The waitress brought out some focaccia bread for us to try. It was delicious! We ordered some wine and calamari for starters. The calamari comes with 4 large rings. It was very good! The breading is light and it is cooked to perfection. For dinner I ordered the sea bass. It is a small fillet and comes with the skin still on, with a small side of grilled romaine lettuce and sits on a green sauce that looks like chimichurri, but doesn't taste exactly like it. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. It was very good. The portions are small compared to most places. But, then you may have room for dessert! For dessert my husband ordered the lemon sorbet and I ordered the deconstructed lemon posset. It was delicious! I probably could have gone without it, as I was a little too full afterwards, but it was totally worth it! I highly recommend trying Morso. Get there early, or make reservations.
