We hired Maxx Industries to purchase and install new laminate flooring after a flood. They did a great job. Maxx Industries also have a connected company called Stardust Const. Inc. which are both owned by Sasha Novakovic. Later, we employed Stardust to install four door and baseboard/crown moldings. This one didn't go so well... Stardust Construction and Maxx Industries in Palm Desert are connected companies. We employed them to install bathroom/bedroom/living room doors and base boards. The owner, Sasha is personable. He and his team arrives when they say they will unfortunately it all breaks down with the quality of work. Unfortunately, we had a problem with them fitting one door and to get them back wasn't I would say - difficult but we had to follow them up a couple of times to get them to return to fix one door that wasn't hung properly. The quality of baseboard installation was not very good. Most of the joints were butt-jointed vs 45 degree. (Unprofessional in my opinion. Almost all "tradesman" will tell you they only use 45 degree joints as they're less noticeable.) It doesn't take any longer to cut a 45 degree joint than a butt-joint...) On one occasion in the living room there were 3 joints in a 4-foot length. Poor. Some joints have 1/8" gaps and though less noticeable, one in the closet has a 1/4" gap. Horrible customer service. They do NOT back their work or the materials they resell. They will not return your phone calls, they will waste your time. The owner is rude and will lie to your face. Reading the reviews on this page you can see how even his employees lie on his behalf. In one review, the employee comments back that the owner of Max Industries has nothing to do with Stardust Construction YET google and the BBB have different information. Less than 1 star. Nothing they did was correct. We hired Maxx Industries to remodel our home. We were told that it would take a couple weeks, but it took 3+ months. Not only that, but we were charged $10k more at the end than we agreed upon. Since that time we have had to replaced almost everything Maxx did, and none of the other professionals fixing the problems can believe how bad the work is. We have lost thousands correcting things. What prompted me to write this review is that yesterday I had to have a plumber look at my kitchen sink because there was an intermittent leakage of water on my back patio. Right away he noted that there are no CFI plugs in the kitchen (including the outlet directly below the faucet. I asked about that when the workers were here and was told it was fine), the sink is mounted incorrectly, and there is no air gap in my drainage system. He commented that he couldn't believe we hadn't had major plumbing issues. There was a small leak in the plastic piece where the drain cap is, between the cabinet and the wall. It was cracked through the threads and to the seat on 2 sides, so the piece fell off when he took the cap out. It was held together with a cheap sealant that fell apart in his hands. Also missing was plumbing tape. My plumber spent at least 5 minutes trying to come up with a scenario where that plastic could be broken, and all he could come up with was that it was overly tightened by some tool, cracked, and rather than fix it, a sealant was put on it to told it together for the time being. $2400 later, I have a new lower drain, a panel to access the area, and a double loop in my drain pipe to create an air gap. Now all I need is an electrician to fix the outlets. Another $1k or so, right? I have also learned that I have black mold in my wall.... So yeah. Don't hire Maxx unless you have the money to fix things in the future. read more

They charged us 200.00 for freight to get flooring from one of their warehouses to another local warehouse. It wasn't expedited situation, we still had to wait for it, and to top it off it wasn't on our original estimate. When I called to question the charge, I was told it was SOP. simply bad business! read more

Maxx industries removed all of our existing flooring in our home, we just purchased, it was carpet in bedrooms and baths, and old 18x18 thick tile thru the rest of the house. They have now replaced my home with luxury Vinyl flooring throughout. In addition, they added doors to what is to be an office, added a framed in window above that, installed all of my new toilets, adjusted the old cabinets, doors etc. These guys are Excellent!!!! The crew never complained, there were a couple of changes we asked them to do because we changed our minds. If you have a smaller job he might have a close out that can save you hundreds. I don't like to usually throw down competition but I had a very well known flooring company come out for an estimate for laminates in 3 bedrooms. Used this company for installing my flooring DISHONEST! The instillation was suppose to take 3 days but ended up taking 6. Maxx industries claimed that they had to charged an additional 16 hrs for Grinding the floor to level. The claim was false as I proved that there was no grinding and that the sub contractor (ADOLFO) was not being truthful along with (MARIO) who was portrayed as the foreman. The installers insisted to run my air conditioning at 78 while leaving the door open next to the thermostat on the first 2 days, thus my power bill for the 6 days was and added expense I was not ready for. TRASH and FAST FOOD was strung around the house that I had to clean up daily as I stayed at the house during the install. The workers arrived at 830am and dropped everything at 3pm and went home. i WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE..BUYER BEWARE Always ask if Base is finished and caulked as mine was left unfinished. read more

They did not finish on time, even though I told Mario of my move date, thus losing $400 in wages and $150 to reschedule my mover; charged me $245 to move my furniture and washer and dryer event though Mario never mentioned in his visit to my home to give me the estimate; did not finish the job by leaving the nail heads showing on the baseboard; adding insult to injury, the workers took/stole my Burrtec brown and gray trash barrels. read more

As I left, she handed me a catalogue for what was not in the showroom. By the end of the day, I called and ordered from the catalogue at a very competitive price. I am not doing home improvement as much as I am recovering from a house flood which destroyed my floors left my home in a mess. I've been comparison shopping at the showrooms and onLine, so I'm familiar with what's available. The owners of Maxx, Sasha and his wife, provided customer service that was in sharp contrast to the often rude and/or non-existent service at the big box stores.
