    Kare kare

This is the best Filipino food I've had in the seattle area. We ordered the Kare kare, Laing, and the whole fried chicken. The kare kare sauce was super tasty, but wish there was more oxtail and veggies for the amount of sauce there is. I have been craving Laing as well and this really hit the spot. The chicken skin was also sooo good, but the banana ketchup was really watery and was sweeter than actual banana ketchup. I also really enjoyed that they gave little cups of shrimp paste on the side and are able to get extra. We got our food quickly and had multiple people check in on how we were enjoying the food. They also have a party room in the back so we had groups singing karaoke in the background. Overall, loved the vibes and definitely need to go back and try more things on the menu.

Got here on a Friday night around 6pm and my party of 3 got seated very quickly since there's tons of tables and booths and it wasn't busy at all. Place is very clean and spacious, so it's surprising that the location of its front door makes it feel like a literal hole-in-the-wall joint. This is your regular dine-in restaurant with a good selection of food. My group and I ordered a whole fried chicken, a lechon kawali sisig, pork adobo and a large bowl of garlic rice. We overestimated what we could get here, but it was still worth getting. - The fried chicken was definitely the best part of the meal. The skin was flavorful and crispy, and also came with a small set of fries. There wasn't as much meat as I would have wanted in both pieces, though. - The lechon kawali sisig was a nice mix of salty and savory at the same time. Some pieces were harder to chew than others, and adding the lemon somehow added conflicting tastes to the meat that I'm just not sure how to describe. Combining it with the garlic rice is definitely a great way to enjoy it. - The garlic rice was all right, nothing special about it. It was white rice with garlic bits sprinkled and mixed. - The adobo in my friend's pork adobo dish was yummy as well. Dishes here were overall just all right, otherwise the quality could have been better for some of the stuff I got.

When you have a filipino wife, you have to find filipino food. We've tried several maxs. This was one of the better ones. Sisig is always one of my favorite dishes here. The pancit was very good. Pretty good sized portions.

How do you promote a promotion for your $8 chicken in your 80th anniversary and not be prepared for the demands? Saw one person working in the front to care for dine in patrons, give out already ordered $8 chicken, and can't take new orders. Less than 20 people when I got there and watch the unorganized promotion run by a business that was definitely act like they are new. I understand understaff but definitely should have been more prepared.

Ambiance. Very open, lots of seating especially for large parties. Eating alone would look awkward. Modern and clean lines. Service. Friendly and accommodating. Products. Always does not compare to homemade, but better than decent for restaurant quality. The Lechon (pork belly) was my favorite, but need a lot more sauce. Of note. Lot parking and loos clean and stocked. Overall. Good place to take a newbie. Would rather do takeout.

    "Remade" Bistek

Ordered the Bistek and it seems we got oil with a side of bistek (see video). Asked the manager if it was normal and she said yes but then instantly took it back to get remade. When asked if we could just take it off the tab she said no as it was already being remade. Not even 2 minutes later the "new" bowl (photo) came out. If it was normal the first time why get it remade? And why did it only take 2 minutes to remake it? Disappointing considering this dish was $17. Service wasn't that great either.

Though we originally came for the chicken, we ended up getting more than we needed! We could wasily make what we got here at home, but why not! Since we came the moment they opened, service was quick and fresh! You could hear the best songs playing while you hear the chefs singing their hearts out tg! Bunch of laughter and fun-a pre-mothers day dinner!

Food came out quickly. The fried chicken has unseasoned skin but it is crispy. The meat itself was a bit too dry. Sinigag with pork was good. Garlic rice used the pre chopped garlic from a jar so the garlic scent wasn't as strong as I would like. Halo halo had pieces of jelly and flan, Rice Krispies and a piece of flan. I'm more into the batter of the chicken skin so this isn't quite my taste.

We decided to come here for a lunch with the fam and it was pretty good! We really enjoyed the pork sisig, lumpia and the kare-Kare. The service was AMAZING!

Large garlic rice. Enough for 3-5 people

Service is nice and restaurant clean. Food is good, garlic rice $12 large good deal. Small garlic rice for $7. Sago gulaman $6, many toppings. Lovely, average price compared to other places. Lechon kawali sisig delicious, they don't have an egg tho.... That kinda sucks. The lechon was super crunchy, some parts of the meat were juicy and hints of the crispy fat was amazing. We're on the hunt for the mayo style sisig, but this one is still good. We'd love to come back and try the chicken. Saw other customers get it and it looked very tempting. Quiet during a Sunday night dinner before 7pm. We had plenty of sisig and rice to take home so we had it for breakfast and added some mayo and egg. So good!

I'll start with the bad. This place is severely understaffed, and even more so when they have a large event that they have to cater to. They have a room in the back for parties and celebration that can accommodate about 30 people. This is my second time going to this restaurant and each time we're left waiting for a good amount of time to be seated and to be served. Even paying for our check, we're standing at the front desk desperately waiting to pay and leave. They got a couple of orders wrong on our second visit to this place, like incorrect drinks and sides; if i'm you ask for garlic rice you may get plain rice, if you ask for sierra mist you may get plain club soda. Okay the bad is out of the way, the food is phenomenal, their sigsig is nicely marinated and sizzling upon arrival; it pairs well with their garlic rice and karekare. Karekare has a good amount of peanut sauce, a fair amount of bokchoy, the oxtails have decent amount of meat attached. Their lumpia shanghai is addictive, especially when dipped in their in-house banana sauce. Pinakbet is marinated nicely in its shrimp based soup; it has a generous amount of gulay, vegetables like squash, eggplant and string beans. And their half fried chicken is on point; not too greasy and the skin is thin with the right amount of crunch; this is worth pairing with their garlic rice with their signature sauce. I'd come back again, the food is quite authentic, but anticipate some order mix ups and mediocre service!

Soupy and overcooked : look at the vegetables Look at pansit canton
    Hazel A.

The food is definitely max restaurants quality: the not chopsuey is soupy : over cooked: look at the pansit canton : disgusting : they even use the pansit miki: not pansit canton : this is an insult to what we know of max restaurant : chicken is over priced at what it is : I can make better chicken than this : if you are looking for max : go look somewhere else for sure

I've wanted to come here for quite a while because I've never had Filipino food before and wanted to give it a try. The main problem is they don't have enough people working at the restaurant; we stood at the front area waiting for someone to seat us for five minutes. We were about to leave when someone finally came out from the back (after I ran the bell, which felt very weird). We ordered right away, and the food came out in a reasonable time. The chicken was definitely crispy and cooked perfectly (delicious skin!). It was tasty, but very plain as it had no added flavour. We tried the banana ketchup + Worcestershire sauce + hot sauce mix. It wasn't a great flavour because the banana ketchup is so overpowering. It's a good-sized chicken, but 12 french fries, some of them half-sized? Really? Potatoes are cheap, and for $21 you'd think you'd get more. We finished up and waited to pay, but no one ever came back. I had to go find someone and was the same overworked lady who seated us. They don't have tap to pay either, which is surprising in the year 2024. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, and we won't be back again.

Again, it's been years since I last came here, but I was in the area and knew that Manila Sunset was nearby. I suggested to my family that we eat there for lunch. I wish I didn't. The food was delicious, but it would have been nice to have more of it. The portions have been reduced, especially the BBQ dish. I was expecting 4 skewers of meat, but instead got a small pile of pork with 2 huge scoops of rice. The rice is a filler for the pork that they have reduced. We were still hungry, so I had to place another order of food to feed us all and order some additional items, causing me to spend more $ than I thought I would need to. What I do appreciate is their honesty. There is a sign posted at their register that discloses that they have had to go up 10 percent on their prices due to the economy. But they don' tell you that they have also shrunk their portions, so you are paying more for less. Totally get that all the tariffs are out of their control and that they are just trying to survive, but I can't continue to support a business that makes such drastic changes to their food. Conditions have also declined. The silverware in the back was all filthy. It had old food and stains on it and I had to pick carefully to find clean silverware. We had water which was in the dispenser by the silverware. It was gross because there was some kind of debris in all our water. We decided to not drink it. We had a small child with us so I ordered the spaghetti. The gal at the register clearly wasn't familiar with the menu, so she had to go to the back to ask. She quickly came back and told me that they don't do the spaghetti anymore. Ok well update Google and your menu on the board. Disappointed, I accepted the gal's recommendation of the pancit, but that too wasn't very good, and not enough to feed us all. I really hope that Manila Sunset can keep the doors open and I hope the community continues to support them. Unfortunately, I won't be returning for a while after the last experience.

They do have a really nice meal deal during breakfast where if you buy one breakfast combo meal then you get one for free and it seems like they will go past the allotted time as we got it minutes before it ended but they were doing it for customers after us. The food here is alright, it's not really food that tastes like it was prepared with love and care like homemade meal but again just to satisfy a craving or get Filipino food. The BBQ skewers here are good and that's what my boyfriend's mom gets for us whenever she is in the area. The kare kare here was pretty meh and definitely not worth the price. The pancit was decent but I definitely make it better so not worth getting. The chicken tocino at breakfast was delicious and I have not seen chicken tocino served at other Filipino establishments so it was neat that they had that as a option. Located in the Renton Shopping Center near Fred Meyer, this buffet has really surpassed the test of time. I remember coming here when I was a kid during important family events, however I think the last time I came was around 10 years ago! I think it's pretty safe to say that things have remained consistent over the past many years. To be honest, I'm not a big buffet person - I feel like the quality of the food is often traded for quantity and at my big age I really cannot force myself to eat more than like 2-3 plates of food anymore. But I will say, Feast definitely exceeded my expectations! It has a lot of great asian choices, as well as options for children/people with different palates! I've was a huge fan of the sushi/seafood options, especially the salmon sashimi they had. It was SO fatty I had so many bowls of it. There wasn't really anything that disappointed me, though the crab/lobster line was long (as expected). Staff were kind, and were pretty consistent in clearing out my table and I thought everything was pretty clean! Honestly I'm tempted to return (maybe for lunch since it's cheaper) but I do think that Feast Buffet is definitely a gem of Renton.

Feast Buffet or East (not King lol) Buffet?! IYKYK…read more I was on travel to work with a team up in Renton, WA, and they went out for a lunch buffet here during my time up there. I was intrigued at the name Feast Buffet, but moreso because I had been to an East Buffet the previous year close to where I live, hence the first line of this review. Feast Buffet is located in Renton Shopping Center on the west side of Rainier south of Sunset. If you know where the Fred Meyer is here, Feast Buffet is on the opposite end of the plaza. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a rather spacious lobby where you can see a TV that shows the pricing for both lunch and dinner. We went on a weekday at lunchtime, which is the cheapest option at $24.99 per adult. Weekend lunches are almost 50% higher, but the same price as dinner on Mondays thru Thursdays. If our team had gone for dinner on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, we'd be spending an additional $20 more per adult! The lobby also had some nice decor. Even though I posted this review in January (I was on a brief review hiatus), our visit was back in November, and they had some snowmen decor by the right wall as well as a Christmas tree by the check-in counter. The selection is incredible! Much more than what I was expecting that I circumnavigated the buffet area like a labyrinth. I was hoping to start off with salad, but accidentally started off with some cold seafood before I was able to find the salad bar. Don't forget to grab some utensils! They're located by the salad bar. Our team sat at a side dining area akin to a banquet hall with a huge TV on the end closer to the front door. We were on the far corner, and one of the TVs was not functioning, unfortunately. There are three drink dispensers in the beverage section, but I made the mistake of getting a coffee cup for a Pepsi Zero Sugar LOL. There are taller blue cups that I should have gotten instead, but one of my tablemates noticed a leak in her cup and informed a staff member about it. As with any buffet, one of my grievances is that they spread themselves too thin that the quality of some of the foods is sacrificed, and that is the case here, though not nearly as much, fortunately enough. Only the Mac & Cheese was the most forgettable after my first two plates; I probably would have preferred the macaroni sitting on the top layer of the heating well. The fruits were also not fresh, though I can't say I was expecting them to be. Otherwise, most other food items were good enough for buffet standards. As I was getting some sushi, I got some wasabi, but didn't see soy sauce. When I asked a sushi chef where the soy sauce was, he replied that it was on the tables albeit in a rather condescending manner. Okay, so my bad on neglecting to notice the first time, but this is how I get treated as a visitor from out of state?! I got some cuts of meat at the same time, but one of them was full of fat and/or gristle! The noodle bar stood out to me most because I don't ever recall seeing a noodle bar at any other buffet! It's kind of similar to the Mongolian BBQ station where you select your raw toppings and hand them to the chef, who cooks them for you. In the case of this noodle bar, you select from one of four broths: Wonton, Udon, Beef Brisket, and Tonkotsu. Just let the chef know which of these four broths you'd like, and they'll cook it for you! One drawback with this station is that if there are multiple customers' ramen bowls being cooked simultaneously, you may end up grabbing someone other customer's bowl. I also got to try some cotton candy, and that's only because as I was walking by the desserts section, there was an employee finishing up a cotton candy. Since there was no other customer nearby, I simply waited until she handed me the cotton candy. Otherwise, there will be a stand with holes that will hold the cotton candies. And for the (real) dessert, I went with a small bowl of cookies & cream ice cream. I made the mistake of attempting to open a stationary glass panel, thinking it was a sliding door of an ice cream chest LOL. An employee noticed, and I had to tell her which ice cream I wanted, though I also had to ask her what the flavors were since I didn't see any flavor labels. Ice cream was pretty good! Good way to round out a decent lunch buffet! One thing I didn't like was how inconsistently non-punctual they were at picking up plates. I know I shouldn't be comparing, but there was a time when I had three empty plates next to me that weren't picked up! Yet after my first plate, I saw it was taken away when I came back for seconds. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Feast Buffet, and I would prefer Feast Buffet over East Buffet even though I actually gave both the same rating. However, East Buffet is lower than a 4.0, but I'd rate Feast Buffet higher than a 4.0, though not that much higher to earn the 5th star. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a feast of a buffet, look no further than Feast Buffet!
