7/11/26 Celebrated our friend's birthday here, food was delicious, service was attentive and the accommodations were fairly comfortable. Our server was Angie, friendly, hospitable & polite. We ordered the traditional Filipino fare and it was served family style: sizzling pork sisig, fried bangus (milkfish) , pancit, pibakbet, beef & pork Sinigang, bbq skewers, of course steamed rice and garlic fried rice as well. There were 12 in our group. Our dishes arrived one at a time and with good succession (about 5 minutes apart) The only complaint was our server forgot to bring out our beverages (buko, sago/gulanan juice) but she apologized. I really preferred to drink my buko juice during my meal. At some point during our dining experience, it felt very warm. Some of us clearly had beads on sweat on our faces. We have dined at the Max's in city of Glendale, Ca. This experience felt a bit odd because this shop is not as crowded and it looks very small in comparison. Parking is free and plentiful. Do not go here when there are events or catering happening. When it's a normal day with no events, the food is actually good and worth it. But during catering? Completely different experience. We were served what was supposed to be sisig, but it was basically chopped crispy pork with maybe three cubes of onion -- not sisig at all. The pancit was extremely dry... like really dry. The chicken didn't seem any different from usual, but everything else felt rushed. Even the rice seemed like it was thrown together last minute, almost like leftovers while they focused on setting up their catering orders. On top of that, the food took forever to arrive. And honestly, if you've been hyping up Filipino food to non-Filipino friends and bringing them here for their first try--this is not the experience you want them to have. The preparation just isn't good when they're rushing, and it doesn't represent the cuisine well at all. Overall: decent spot only if there's no event going on. I've been here a couple of times whenever the family visits Vegas and the food has always been consistent and good. Something we always get is the fried chicken and sinigang which are good. The garlic rice portions for some reason are smaller than regular rice. Another thing I'd say is that the service can be a little better and faster. read more

Seriously nothing notable to write about. Originally we were headed to jollibee until we remembered the delicious Karekare we had at the Max's restaurant in sf. This restaurant is located in a run down shopping mall although the outside seems ok, the interior of the restaurant is pretty run down as well. The women's bathroom is dark and pretty scary. The service was slower than normal considering there weren't many patrons. It took about 5 minutes to get seated, 10-15 minutes to get our orders going. Our server was ok. The food on the other hand was pretty disappointing. They were out of a lot of the dishes we were craving for. $200+ later we were wishing we just went elsewhere. read more

Gotta hit up my filipino spots when I'm in Vegas since there are none where I live. Max's was only a couple miles from my hotel and the food looked good so I have it a shot. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the Kare Kare which is one of my favorite dishes and ended with some Halo Halo of course. The Kare Kare was cooked very well and was delicious. The garlic fried rice that came with it was also very good. Only complaint was I feel the portion size of the Kare Kare should have been more given the price. The Halo Halo was excellent! Overall great experience and I'd stop by again. read more

We came for dinner last night and of course it was always full !! I tell you what their food is delicious, my kare kare was perfect and shanghai was crispy and the fried chicken was tasty. The refresher drink was good but they put a lot of ice instead of the actual drink. However the food is expensive for what you get. And you have to buy the rice, not part of your meal. Arrived here at 1pm on Monday and were told it was 25 min wait even though the place was not busy. They let us know it was due to being short on servers. Once we finally got seated 53 minutes later they brought the food to the wrong table next to us, and that table tried to take our food! I am appalled at the service here. read more

Aaaahhh Filipino food is not always a daily thing for many of us but can't really ignore the occasional celebrations that forms part of the cultural identity of our friends and families. This is where Max Restaurant comes convenient, so we were invited to attend a birthday party in Las Vegas. Here, they provided a space for our group of 30 and lavished us with the food of royalty and grace. The Crispy Pata and iconic Fried Chicken are the best crispiest food I have in a month. The meats were soft and tasty and very morsel makes you want for more! Their other foods like Pinakbet (vegetable stew) is the best I have tasted, the bitter melon wasn't really bitter while the okra sounded like firecrackers as you chew on them during dinner. After an hour walk in the sun, I wanted halo halo but when we got here, we ordered Crispy pata, fried chicken and milk fish sour soup to try too. 5 stars go to the pata. It was well seasoned , crispy and the meat is tender and juicy. Chicken was okay and the soup was a little too sour for our taste. Every one was friendly and cute decorated for events. So I am going to give 2 different rating here. First the food. 3 stars! Why 3? Food was good and decent. Long story short will I eat here again? Of course. But let's talk about inconsistency. At the time of this writing they said they couldn't do the fried crispy pata. Which makes no sense as they could do everything on the menu that was fried. So I ordered sisig. And usually every sit down restaurant that serves sisig usually comes on a sizzling plate. Mines did not. It did come on a heated grill plate but it wasn't that hot. 15min into me eating my food and the guy next table orders the same exact thing about its steaming and sizzling. I'm pissed. Mind you it still tasted good. But the presentation was so lackluster and inconsistent like 2 different people played the food. I love having my plates sizzling makes me happy. Next the service. On my table we had 2 waters and a diet Pepsi. Every single time a server would walk by and never looked at our empty cups. We had to wave a server down and ask for a refill. Every refill. Not once but 4 times total. But didn't hesitate to drop off the bill as soon as we ordered our food. Didn't even make mention our bill was on the table. Just walked by put it on the table and continued with walking. She seemed nice but not without proper server etiquette. And last but not least. The bathroom. Don't look at my pics of the bathroom. But it was poorly cleaned. It has a checklist of when the bathroom was last cleaned. According to the chart it was last cleaned on Wednesday. And today is Saturday. Doubt it was never cleaned since then but the upkeep isn't their. Hand wash paper all over the floor. Sinks have soap and calcium all over. Even the bathroom toilet doesn't flush. Came to Vegas and saw this spot. I've been craving Filipino Food. It has a cool atmosphere and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The service wasn't the best nor the worst. It took a while for us to get seated. We ordered the Whole Chicken with Garlic Rice, Pork Barbecue Skewers and Lechon Kawali. I did not care for the fried chicken. It tastes like the chicken we make at home so nothing special. The Lechon Kawali was really good but the Pork Barbecue Skewers were the best! I think if you can cook Filipino food or have been around it your whole life, eating out can be hit or miss. I'd give the food 2 stars. It had flavor, but the texture was off and the taste wasn't what I'm used to. The kare-kare (not pictured) was very watery. I'm used to a thicker sauce with a stronger, peanut-forward flavor. It also barely had any meat literally about three pieces which was very disappointing. The palabok was wet and soggy. The best thing I ate was the whole chicken it was crunchy and juicy. The ambiance was nice restaurant felt clean. My server was very attentive no complaints on that, but I'm not sure I'd come back again. Mom wanted to come here and eat some Filipino food. We ordered pancit canton , fried bangus, garlic fried rice and pork sisig. Everything was delicious! My one gripe was the pork sisig. I assumed the pork would have some sort of crispiness to it but that was not the case. Taste was good but in my experience, sisig should be crispy. I looked at the menu again and they had lechon kawali sisig which is the crispy one but they charge you 2$ more . Next time get the lechon kawali sisig if you want that crispy pork bite! read more

Max's in Vegas has comfort Filipino food ready for the taking! Huge parking lot so finding a spot will def not be a problem. We were also seated right away on a busy Sunday afternoon. Service was so kind but also so slow. I don't mind food taking awhile to come out, kitchen backups happen. However, being finished and waiting~waiting~waiting to try to flag someone down a bunch in order to get the check - that I do not love. The restaurant was not busy but it's as if our server had the whole place to serve. I saw him literally running around the restaurant. If more servers are needed to chill out the atmosphere and also properly serve the customers, may be something to consider. Now, that being said, we ate like monster kings while there - Max's half fried chicken ($14) was plump and juicy inside, though I wished the skin had a bit more flavor. Lechon Kawali ($18) was a huge portion of crisp but tender pork belly pieces. Garlic Rice ($8) was solid, and actually my favorite thing of the meal! You can never go wrong with garlic rice. We also added Calamansi Juice for $6 and a Sierra Mist for $3. Overall, good meal with a TON of leftovers for us to feast on. We were there 5/24 arrived at 12pm. My friend called for reservation for 12 people for 12noon. We arrived and were told to wait for 20 mins. We notice that people who came in after us were seated earlier than us. Groups of 2, 4, 6. We asked TWICE and were told we were next. After 1 hr 40 mins, the hostess said she can sit us in 2 tables. I was so upset already, after waiting that long, she would still split us! I told her had we known we're going to wait for 1 hr 40 mins, we could have gone somewhere else. We had 3 diabetics in our group. She should have been upfront with us with the waiting time! She didn't even said sorry. She just kept saying "I know, I know", which she obviously didn't! Max's you need to be transparent in your waitlist system! Even just using pen and paper with numbers of people, their names, would be better than your computer, with only the hostess who has access to! She could have seated us earlier, when 4 or more people left and waited for the next table to open up! Your tables are moveable which was what she did when I already got angry! The thing is, no apologies from her! That's why I couldn't stop myself from being angry. She should know how to prioritize her waiting list! Or at least use Yelp system for reservation! You make a lot of money judging from all the waiting guests last Sunday, you should be able to afford a new system for your waiting list and train your staff! read more

Unsatisfactory. I have not visited the establishment in the past four years. I recently had a desire for their fried chicken, so we decided to order takeout. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry, the pancit canton was extremely dry, the kaldereta tasted like afritada without the usual potatoes and olives, only carrots and bell pepper were present. The Kare-kare only had 1 teaspoon of bagoong and 2 pieces of meat, with the vegetables drowning in the sauce. The tofu sisig was cold and was smothered in mayonnaise, and lastly the halo-halo contained ONLY beans which was not fully cooked rendering it hard. The only positive aspect was the polite demeanor of the order taker. However, I do not plan on returning in the future. Maxs need to shape up. read more

Walk in 15 min before closing ( 7 pm ) they say 5 min and in 5 min we were called. We ordered and I will say about 10 min our food was at the table , it was very good. We keep seeing more and more people walking in after 7 and they were not turning people out. Big families and small gatherings were walking in like it was 4' o clock. They were all welcomed and taken to their tables, staff were very friendly, the place is very clean, atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. They were also hosting a family event in the salon next to us. We ordered way more food than we could eat so we take most of it home. It's home away from home! Food tasted delicious and authentic. Servings are big and totally worth the price. It was a very hectic Friday for the restaurant but the staff were all polite and attentive to check on the waiting guests and tried their best to serve as efficiently as they could. Well done and thank you! It's my third time coming here and each time, there's a bit of a wait so take that into consideration. I guess their food is popular. There's plenty of parking space in front/at the side of Max's. It's nice inside and clean enough. The first and last time I will ever eat Philippineo food. My girlfriend and I arrived shortly before closing. We both had looked forward to this experience. The staff was great. We ordered the filipino pork barbecue, skewers, garlic rice and the Lechon Kawali Siaig. None of it was really hot. Luke warm at best. All the meat was tough as can be. Like it had been cooked earlier in the day and stuck under a heat lamp. The BBQ skewers had chunks of cold grizzle in there I wouldn't feed to my dog. The other dish was so over fried that half of it was unedible! Shortly after leaving the restaurant both of us became nauseous. Back at the room. I started throwing up. A couple hours later my girlfriend started throwing up. We had to rent the room another day and we're unable to do any of our planned activities. 24 hours later and Im still laid up in bed only to get up and run to the toilet where we both have been experiencing explosive diarrhea! Ack. This may be an isolated incident.However, I've lost my desire to ever try filipino food again. It is definitely impacted my entire vacation to Las Vegas. read more

We've been before but most recently at the San Diego location which wasn't all that great for some reason. My pork belly sisig was perfect and had leftovers enough for 2 more meals!
