We already had an existing NEMA backup system, and they worked to tie it into the new system so that it will continue to serve us when the grid goes down--which unfortunately happens fairly often in our area. The entire crew worked hard, paid attention to the details, and made sure things were done properly. I will be honest and it was or maybe still as the transition from SunPower to SunStrong has not been the smoothest. This transition left those of us with contracts in limbo waiting to find out who does our servicing which in the end went to Sunspear Energy. It took quite a while BUT in the end the work performed was done professionally and well. Much thanks to Zack for taking care of the initial request and getting the panels up to par. Many mahalos to Issac, Issac Jr and Isaiah for the care they took in removing and then reinstalling our panels for roof work. I have been helping my parents with their home, and noticed that the solar water panels on the home…read moreseemed to be leaking. We decided to contact several companies for a quote. Sean from Island Solar Service contacted me the same day, actually within an hour of me entering my information on their website. He was able to visit my parent's house the next day and provided me with a quote. We decided to replace the whole system, the panels and the water heater, since it was old. We were able to schedule the installation pretty quickly especially with a lot of homeowners trying to get their systems installed by the end of the year. Prior to the installation, Sean informed my mom of what needed to be done to prep the area for the install. Basically clean the area surrounding the existing water heater and the space needed. He called a week prior to confirm the install and to start the permit process. The team of installers arrived early that morning (7:30 AM) and was done by 1:00PM. They did a terriffic job. Through out the job they informed us as to what they were doing and were very professional. Once completed they went through the system to provide us with information and how everything worked as well as who to call if anything comes up. Overall GREAT service and value. Very painless process. I'd recommend Island Solar Service to family and friends.

( two houses on one lot ) ( 440-442 ) Therefore Enphase would not honor the warranty. They said the micro-inverters had been moved ! Ms. Reed was extremely rude and unprofessional. Rather than trying to help, she ( relied ) on the fact that the same DBA was dissolved in 2017 following the death of her brother. Poor customer service................. Would not suggest using this company

Fortunately, the issue with our battery resolved itself. However, a phone call from Haleakala Solar would have been appreciated to acknowledge the request and offer support. I submitted a second request for a call on September 16 and again received a message promising a response within 72 hours. Once more, no one contacted me. This lack of customer service has been a reoccurring issue with Haleakala Solar. When we first installed our PV system six years ago we had issues with our solar water heater. Getting someone to answer and respond to our calls was very difficult. We finally received service when my husband drove over to their warehouse to talk to someone there.

The work is solid, the installs are well planned and look nice. However, HSR's terrible at responding to other inquiries and repair requests. Their tech line almost always leads you to a voicemail that will never be replied to. Online requests go ignored. I've literally gotten spam emails from Haleakala saying "let us know how we're doing" that go unanswered. Sometimes I end up begging Enphase, the equipment vendor, to get Haleakala to respond. My core problem is that my system's reporting in terms of production and usage is way off from what HECO reports. According to Enphase, I'm sending a net surplus of power back to the grid monthly, meanwhile my latest electrical bill is over $200! That's with 30 panels AND battery backup! I want to get to the bottom of this. I'm guessing they have staffing issues, like everyone. And honestly, if I got an answer copping to that, I'd have more understanding. Instead it's radio silence. It's a shame because the product is good.

Now days I call the mainland when something goes wrong with the system and get better results than dealing with the local idiots. Chris was sent out to repair my system Chris was amazing!! He got the system working better than it was when it was new. Sunrun would be a great company if they focused on customer service and hiring more people like Chris. They should be able to fix problems in a more timely manner. When there are no problems, the system works perfectly like it supposed to. If Sunrun hires more people like Chris, they could have 4 and 5 stars reviews. Sunrun has tried renaming to avoid bad reviews but no matter what they name themselves they get 98% negative reviews. Some advice for Sunrun. Hire more honest salespeople, get more competent administrative personnel on the top, service what you sell in a timely manner, and stop using cheap parts. They should promote Chris to a supervisory training position because he knows how to treat customers and can train and teach others in the company to be just like him. Honest, hardworking, and knowledgeable. Chris goes up and beyond the call of Duty to make sure your system is working perfectly and he makes sure you are completely satisfied before he leaves. Although solely owned by us and being put on their non-existent do not disturb list, they continue to pester us. Today was no exception and a sales rep walked past numerous signs for no trespassing and no soliciting. Telling me he wasn't with Sunrun but also worked for Sunrun. Stupid? Yes. Then he proceeded to ask me why I was such an a-hole on my property. Must be part of the great Sunrun sales training to include that in your sales pitch. Never. Ever. Choose. Sunrun.
