While driving home from meetings out in Riverhead recently, I noticed the massive building that is Maximum Motorsports on my left-hand side. In dire need of a moped helmet, I pulled in to browse around (I hope my folks don't read, but at least I'm practicing safety first!). Also, from all the super nice ATVs lined up outside, I couldn't wait to see the rest of their bikes, jet skis, etc. To be completely honest, I was a little hesitant walking in, as I sort of expected a tough sell on price points beyond my budget. I only say this based on my previous experiences at car dealerships, but what I experienced at Maximum Motorsports was nothing of the sort. I got to browse literally the entire store without anyone looking over my shoulder. All of their employees are super chill and down-to-earth yet very knowledgeable and are around if you need extra help. Shoutout to one of the managers, Tommy, who noticed me looking a little lost and confused in the helmet section (what an awesome inventory, by the way!). Without any pressure whatsoever, he really helped me narrow down some options based on my budget, own personal preferences, and riding styles. He even searched in the back to locate an amazing helmet that happened to be on clearance sale. He scored me such an awesome deal off the original sticker price that I was able to purchase some great riding gloves and even an extra part that I needed for the fuel tank. We shared riding stories and even showed me a couple of photos of his own personal builds. I love meeting people that are passionate about what they do, and Tommy definitely knows his stuff. On the way out, I took a liking to one of their 2023 Kawasaki bikes, the Z125 PRO. With end-of-season discounts and rebates, it was only about $2,500 or so. Such a great deal for such a beginner-friendly yet fun modern bike! I don't quite have the space, but it's definitely on my radar down the road. It's an easy 5/5 from me! read more

Lets start with the loan paper work fruad that they stated almost 4000 dollars in accessories that where never sold to me.I do not recommend this place I have had issues since I went here. Danielle who did my loan paper work was a nightmare. Spent the hole time telling me how her and the owner do drugs in hotels and she was having trouble with my loan paper work because she's new. Told me mac wouldn't help her because he had a thing for her but found out she's messing with the owner. Had to redo my paper work 3 times and when I finally left still got a call from the bank for mistakes she made. The the zx6r I bought had a recall and they told me my parts weren't there till kawasaki told me the day they where delivered and I told them I knew they had the parts and I threatened to leave this review. Now a few months later and the bike has a recall for the same issue with a do not ride order. Which is Kawasaki fault not there's but I asked for a letter stating there's no fix and john who works in service tells me he can't give me a letter because he has no time to write one which is a lie because he spent more time talking to me then it would of taken to write the work order. After telling him I didn't need the letter I recorded the conversation in which he clearly says theres no fix and that I can ride the bike its not serious just going to be another check. He kicked me out of the store and told me I'm not welcome there as a customer anymore. Avoid this place at all cost they only care about the sale especially for a mechanic to tell you go ride the bike its not serious when the engine can seize at any moment. Which i have on recording! They also didnt pay my loan of when they were supposed to. When I called to tell them its been a month and the bank is calling me they made a 500 dollar payment to my bank. Instead of paying it off in full. Which I was giving a first service free for the inconvenience but I literally have had to fight to be treated decent at this place since they sold me the bike. read more

Manager MAC no where to be seen for 6 months. I keep on getting John service manager or some other random person call me back. ITs ridiculous whats going on over there. Oct 16th 2025 and they are not winterizing Jet ski yet. Puchased two from them two years ago and nothing is every there fault and service time is ridiculous. Imagine bringing in your car for service and getting it back A MONTH LATER. WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN !!! AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER!! John is rude to customers and VAUGN lives on another planet. read more

this is a good dealership. just got a lovely xsr900. john helped me put everything together. he was helpful and not pushy. the service department are nice guys as however it can be pricey, and sometimes complete jobs faster than their estimate but still stick to the quote. Also they dinged my rim on tire change (very small i didnt catch it at the time, but definitely worthwhile to have the guarantee no damage.) A recommended dealership. Had a desmo service here before heading to Florida. Went to a ride 1st time from Miami to palm beach and I get no clutch in the middle of the road. Paid a lot of money and they couldn't not even check that. Now my clutch is totally mess up and have to pay extra money for that. 1st ride. Call up every Ducati and they all check clutch basket/ disc / etc. not at maximum. The only Ducati in USA that don't check that. Now I am here without a motorcycle for a week and a big bill to pay. Will never go there again. read more

Much that I generally tend to support the reviews of consumers vs businesses, but my personal experience at Maximum Motorsports was the opposite of the previous reviewer's. I was pleasantly surprised at the no-pressure sales first at a different bikes sale place in Bay Shore, and then in my visit here to Maximum in Riverhead. The guy I spoke to on the phone, Derek, was a hard core rider, with tattoos and other interesting personality traits. :-) But, a really sweet, friendly, caring guy and thorough gentleman. He was awesome to deal with. A no pressure, very easy to work with, and make a deal with salesperson. I had waited 30 years to get my 2nd Yamaha, and they had the 2011 Red/Black YZF-R6 on display. I was able to spend time with the bike, I wanted a couple of pics taken, and they obliged (before I even spent a dime). I came back the next time with cash in my pocket. They made me a deal which I felt was reasonable, and fair. I even spent extra money buying the Yamaha extended warranty. Again, this was all personal cash out of pocket, so the no-pressure sales attitude was appreciated. Then Derek, another really cool dude Chris, I think, and a guy behind the counter (sorry forgot his name), ALL answered any questions I had... and helped me pick out helmets, and whatever else I wanted. I tried on some jackets. They offered me good discounts. I did not buy one. No one's attitude changed. I have since gone back just to say Hi. The deal was done with no problems, the paperwork was done quickly by the lady who handles that. The bike was ready when promised. It was delivered where I wanted and when I wanted it. Derek spent time briefing me on it's use, in my driveway, more out of decency and courtesy, than some assumed part of the deal, hours after the deal was done, even thought it was already 7 PM on Friday. On my follow up visits, Derek, Chris and 2 other people took a lot of time even going over multiple requests from me, eg, showing me catalogs of this or that gear maker, finding matching gloves, etc. Everyone was great. I will see how they treat me when it is time to get the 500 miles, and future services, etc. But, so far, I heartily recommend, Derek, and this establishment for your motorcycle, scooter, and, I believe, jet ski needs. I wasn't in the market for a new bike but the sales manager John Schultz made me feel so comfortable and gave such a great price I couldn't pass it up. Went shopping for a new helmet. If you are truly safety minded you know you can by a new lid off the internet sight unseen. A helmet must fit like a glove and be right for your head. To add some complexity, I wanted a convertible helmet which not many paces carry much selection in. After stopping in about four other shops I get to Maximum Motorsports. After I see what they have on the varied shelves, the young lady behind the counter, Ashley I believe, tells me that they are willing to special order and price match anywhere else. I told her my predicament. Based on reviews I was between three helmets but needed to try them on to validate my choices. Her offer, she would bring in the different helmets in the various sizes for me to try with no obligation. I could try them on, find the one that works and they would deal with he others. We struck a deal on a Nolan N104, I left a deposit and the helmets were ordered. When they came in, and I got back from traveling, I went in, tried the helmets on and made my choice. That simple. At no time did they say "Hey if we go through all of this trouble you must buy our helmet." I could have done this with a couple of on-line vendors as well, but their typical offer was to send you one helmet at a time with free exchange. This would have taken weeks to find the right helmet and size. So I'm a fan of Maximum Motorsports for great service at the parts counter. After receiving my motorcycle license 2 months ago I began searching for my first bike. I had read positive reviews about Maximum Motorsports in Riverhead, so I went by for a visit. My experience at Maximum was great. Scott (Sales) and John (General Manager) made me feel very confident that purchasing a Triumph Bonneville was a great first bike for me. Since then, I went ahead and made several upgrades to my bike with the assistance of the service department. John, the Service Manager, is extremely knowledgable and talented. He took the time to explain to me the best options for my bike, and I am confident that the upgrades I made were the right ones. My Triumph looks sweet, and rides amazing. I just used them to buy a new Yamaha quad. The salesmen Scott was a-ok No pressure at all. and the thing I liked best about Scott was he did not talk down the competition. When I spoke of Hondas he knew everything about them. That's not something you see in salesmen these Days. Took delivery as they said they would fix , no problem. Definitely not the case, promised it was on order etc. , ended up having to call Suzuki America etc, and still ended up with no replacement. Thursday 31 August 2017 Dear folks of Maximum Motorsports, Recently, I had been by to visit the dealership for parts and service for my old bikes. That day, Nathan kindly took in yet another of my projects and got me promptly set up for the repairs; I am always grateful for his professionalism and help. As of late, I've also been working directly with Ryan from the service department and the experience has always been no less than wonderful. I really appreciate his kindness and being able to coordinate my projects for me. John, the master technician, ably handles what for me are small but critical operations. For him these are techniques he carries out with mastery. Despite what may be a routine job to him (but not to me!), I've found that he treats every project with the same importance and care as every other. -And I appreciate that! Then there's always a stop by the tremendously helpful and always patient parts/service people: Kevin, Alicia and the newest talent, Trish, who I suspect is already an asset and rounds out a really talented group of people in that department. I stopped shopping at Maximum when the head salesman Pete was caught stealing. I finally gave them another try recently but was disappointed. Two months ago they ordered a transmission for my 2015 R1 recall. I waited 2 months for it to be delivered as it has been on back order. I just called them as they never called me as they said they would. They confirmed they recieved the parts they ordered for me but they told me they are going to call other clients to see if they wanted to have the recall done using the part ordered for me. read more

As I was shopping for my bike the sales manager John introduced himself to me, his no nonsense and no pressure attitude made my experience that much better. When all was said and done and and I found the bike I wanted I was introduced to Melody. Melody was as excited as I was with my purchase. She walked me through the easy to understand paperwork which was exactly as John had stated. There was no wheeling and dealing in the whole process. I brought my jetski here to be repaired and they lied and completely ruined my season....I dropped it off in the end of July and just got it back in the beginning of October and they didn't do 1 thing to my machine. I called constantly every week and they said I will call u tomorrow or right back with a estimate and never ever called back and lied about the whole process. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Had to go there un-announced and demand my jetski back. After I drove home a hour away I realized they never gave me my battery back either. They finally said when I got there that I need a whole new engine 10 weeks later costing around 3 grand. Never use this shop they lie and have horrible customer service and never fixed any problem I had previously brought it there for. The mechanic John lied to my face multiple times and I will never do business with this place again. read more
