I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! So delicious! I had the carne asada and it was a big portion. The mango margarita is my favorite. There's lots of seating and the waiter was really nice and attentive. Every time I come here, I have a great experience. I love the environment. Definitely a must stop!

What a breath of fresh air! We had an authentic Hacienda vibe...beautiful decor...cozy, with music to fit the vibe...delicious fish tacos topped with pico de gallo, lettuce piled high on a flour tortilla ...chips and salsa (green and red) Dean had crunchy carne asada tacos with a fried flour tortilla piled high served with 2 salsas (green and red) ..the margaritas are half price during happy hour...so we will return to try them! We loved the building and overall space embracing the Mexican culture.

The enchiladas were really good! The real star of the show however was the flour tortilla chips with queso.. highly recommend!! We got margs, fantastic & the service was great too!

Maximo's Cantina is a cute place in downtown Elkhorn that is comfortable, with kind service , and pretty dang good food based on two experiences several years apart. On this occasion, we stopped by because we happened to be in the area. Gotta say that the prices were shockingly high. I know restaurants are having a difficult time, but $16+ for guacamole and about $14 for 4 stuffed jalapeños? I don't know if they're good because we aren't paying that. We did pay $4.40 for chips and salsa to start. The chips were spot on. You get two salsas, one is a regular red salsa which was great. The other is a creamy, onion, avocado dip which was out of this world. I wanted more (and the recipe, please!). For an entree, we shared the Enchiladas de Res, with shredded beef and verde topping. You get two enchiladas with beans, rice, and a small handful of lettuce. Oh my. Very flavorful overall! The beef was moist, oh it was good. We left satisfied in the stomach and a little sore in the wallet.

We had a great experience here! I visited with my mom and sister after a girl's afternoon. The flour tortilla chips are an absolute must order. The margaritas are tasty, but not the best you'll ever have. Each of our meals was delicious, especially my BBQ enchiladas, which were a surprising favorite. The outdoor atmosphere is fantastic, and I definitely would recommend sitting out here if you are able to. I will say, this is pricier than your average Mexican food spot. Each entree was $20+

I love the atmosphere. Beautiful patio setup . We were seated right away but it did take longer than expected for service. We had already decided what we wanted so drinks and dinner were one and done and easy on the waitress. The enchiladas were good but not really $24 worth. I'd have gotten queso but too expensive. The atmosphere was my favorite part

Lives here for three years and have not taken the time to try this place out. Had a late night softball game and stopped in Friday night for some quality food and great reverse happy hour that was from 8 to close. The service was fantastic and we really enjoy this place. It will become my go to for Mexican food in Elkhorn.

    Almost $5 for one taco?

Beautiful atmosphere. Horrible pricing. Insane prices. Am I at a four seasons on a tropical island? No. I'm in Elkhorn Nebraska. How are the prices for average Tex mex blah made from from Sysco foods on par with V Mertz in the old market made by true chefs with top notch ingredients? This is clearly bonkers. This place could be 2x busier with a 40% reduction in price.

Tinga chicken taco and short rib taco. The tinga taco was amazing, but the short rib taco was to-die-for. Would definitely eat again.

The food is fantastic--certainly the best Mexican I have had and my favorite place to eat in Omaha whenever I am in town. The drinks are cheap and delicious--it is the perfect place to go for a date or night out. The service is fantastic, the waitresses are all so attentive. The food is authentic and of high quality and certainly worth the price. You can't find this level of food just anywhere.

Food was ok. Won't be back the prices are outrageous! Almost $18 for a nacho appetizer and you have to pay extra to put meat on them.

Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

The portions are pretty big, and my burrito was absolutely filled with heaping portions of shrimp, chicken, and steak. The fajuitas has a wonderful crisp taste seasoned well and super hot like it should be. I will admit the service was pretty mediocore in my opinion. I do not mean to diss the server, but I was more than halfway done with my food and when she finally came to check in on me. I had to ask another server for another water since she wasn't anywhere to be found, but my food came out fast and hot so I was pleased. Would most definitely come back for the food!
