DO NOT use Max Haas Septic. https://www.facebook.com/MaxHaasSepticService We have only used Max Haas since we built our home 8 years ago to service our septic system. No issues previously. Max Haas Septic is not responsive to issues they caused. Use them with caution and expect lack of follow-through. Had our septic serviced 4/2025 and ONLY Max Haas has serviced our system in past 8 years. This year, the cement cover was on tight and technician broke it up with sledge hammer into pieces. Reminder, it was a Haas technician that put it on previously. Contacted the office and finally it was determined that they would replace the cover they broke. Mike (Owner) was gracious and came out to inspect. It was determined they would need to have a cement lid replacement custom made. Texting back and forth with Mike, he indicated several times he would be in our area (Mooresville) "next week" or "soon." The last response from Mike was 8/19/2025. now over a month later, no response. Mike gave nice responses in the beginning and I actually thought he would follow through. It has a now been almost FIVE MONTHS since they destroyed our septic lid with NO RESOLUTION or replacement for the cement lid that Max Haas employee broke. IF Mike finally resolves this issue, I will fully support their business again. read more

We just moved into a new home and it turns out that our septic was completely full. The gentleman from Max Haas beat the price of the competitors in the area and was out very quickly. He gave me some good tips for better maintaining the system so that it would last. More than anything, I was just pleased that he was a hard worker and was to the point. He was finished within 20 minutes. One random plus that helps, they accept credit cards without charging a fee. Some that I called charged a $10 fee. We have used Max Haas before and as always a good neat job. Gentleman was very friendly and giving us a few pointers on how to keep the septic tank clean. Pretty soon the city will bring in sewers in to our neighborhood so we won't be in need of a septic tank cleaning before long. But if I did have a septic tank I would always use them. I own a house in Pike Township and the sewer septic needed cleaned out. I call Max Haas and they came following day. Dave was the technician Very cordial on the phone, but when he came out he supposedly cleaned septic tank. I owned this house for 15+ years and only have had this tank cleaned out a total of 2 other times. I was not on site when it was supposedly cleaned out, but the following day the tenants contacted me and stated that the toilets and tub was backing up. When I went out to review the situation, I see that the tank was full! I called Max Haas and she had me on the list to come back out. Dave then called me and stated that I accused him of lying about the septic tank being full. I never accused. As a matter of fact, I am convinced that they cleaned out the wrong house when cleaning the system. Max Haas sent out another driver and he stated that indeed it was full, but he was going to have to charge me another $300 to clean the system. HE stated with all the rain and snow that it must have filled up again! I am sorry but after having this emptied only 2 other times in 15 years, I refuse to believe this. I refused to let him pump it out again. He then stated he was going to charge me a service charge for coming out. This was insane. I stated that he would not do that. After further discussion, he agreed not to charge the service charge. I now have another reputable (5 star) company coming out same day and charging less per gallon after 1000 gallons than this company does. I will not use this company again! My husband and I are in the middle of purchasing a home and Max Haas was chosen by the seller (and paid by the seller - not us) to complete a full inspection on their septic system. The inspector (name has been removed) reported that the septic tank was in good condition (evaluated by probe), the distribution box was in good condition, and the finger system as well. They reported that all of the fingers were ranging between 2-2.5 feet in depth, with only one at 3 feet. After calling every septic company in the Indianapolis area, I was able to determine that Max Haas is the only septic company in Indianapolis that does not believe in septic dye tests. I spoke with over 10 reputable companies that all rely on this as a major component of determining if a septic system has failed. After having another very reliable company come out to inspect the septic system for another option, we were able to determine that Max Haas reported incorrectly on all of their findings. 1) The septic tank is not in good condition. In fact, it did not have a baffle installed. Max Haas did not even report this. 2) The fingers range between 3 and 5 feet deep. This tells me that Max Haas did not even actually check the entire finger system as the inspectpr reported very differently on the depths of the fingers/laterals. 3) There was no disturbance around the distribution box. When I spoke to Max Haas over the phone, they assured me that the D-Box is the heart of the septic system and this told them everything they needed to know. When we found the D-Box during the 2nd inspection, there was absolutely no disturbance in the area to the grass or dirt. Please tell me how you can inspect a D-Box without disturbing anything around it? For those of you who don't know, this is underground. 4) If every reputable company in the Indianapolis area relies on dye tests, Max Haas should do. This is an industry standard and should be treated with professionalism. The dye test was able to tell us that there was a drain in which the dye and sewage was leaking from and going into a nearby creek. We tested all of the drains on the home and found that when we put water into two of them (we waited for each to drain in full before moving onto the next), and sure enough, the dye and some sewage came out of the drains. These drains were buried and somehow (intentionally or unintentionally) went over the finger system, causing the sewage to connect to the drain and leak into the creek. It sounds to me like Max Haas gets great reviews on pumping systems, but they really did not perform at all for an inspection. They charged the seller $300 for a faulty inspection, assured all of us repeated times they were confident in their evaluation of the system (they reported it was in good, working condition). Yet the home has sewage leaking into a creek that connects to a major lake in the nearby area. This was also posted on Google Reviews. read more

Max Haas was wonderful. Our lift pump went out, after being only 15 months old. The initial plumbing company had the incorrect diagnosis. Max Haas came out to pump the pit, but realized it was the pump that was not working; not a problem with the pit contents. They saved me from the whole ordeal of having a septic hose brought into the house and down to the basement. They also helped with getting the initial company to honor the warranty of the very expensive pump. I cannot praise Max Haas enough: professional and timely. He spent over an hour at the house, plus made numerous phone calls on my behalf. And when I asked what I owed, he said the diagnostic visit is "no charge"....just asked for a small donation to a charity. read more
