Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. Although the final decision was ours, his experience was a definite help. 3) Efficient. The whole process from start to finish only took three days. We used the opportunity for a little vacation in the mountains and came home to beautiful floors! 4) Professional. Kevin, the project manager, came the weekend before to assess the job site and answer any questions. Alberto hung plastic and taped off the areas to reduce dust and vacuumed any remaining dust before the final coat. I asked for it to be glued down, tiles selected had instructions for gluing but they were not followed. I was not told during the project the installer was not gluing them down per instructions until the project was done. I am now having to consider replacing it since the floor pops and snaps when we walk on it. I also just discovered that when the trim they removed was replaced the caulk used was kitchen caulk (not paintable) so I had to scrape it off and redo it.

He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.

After connecting with Simply Floors early 2026 because of the shredding carpet and after a couple of inspections and coordination with the manufacturer of the carpet, I now have the replacement installed (June 1, 2026). The installation was a good process this time and the carpet will most likely hold up very well. Good installation, done within a reasonable time frame and confirmation of details beforehand was achieved. Would have given 5 stars if this was how it went in the beginning. Although I wouldn't recommend one company over another, I would recommend solid communication with all involved, especially with the install crew and company together so everyone is on the same page from the beginning and not just futile lip service. Follow-up inquiries are also important. Would I work with this company again---probably, since they came through with corrections.

Anthony and Mark came out and let us know it might look a little off to have an older kitchen floor with a new dinning room floor but gave me prices on both options - just the dinning room or refinishing the kitchen floor at the same time as the dinning room. No pressure just gave me the options. I'm glad we chose to refinish the kitchen floor at the same time because now everything looks perfect. Those guys work hard and are very fast! Jennifer who runs the office was very responsive to all my questions and texts before and during the process. As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.
