I went here yesterday with my mom. I'm an out of state student at Bay Path and I'd heard good things about this restaurant. We were seated in the middle of the dining area where the tables were pushed as close together as they could possibly be. A waitress came around and took our drink order. Well, my mom's drink order anyway. She completely ignored me and it was so loud that there was no way to call her back to our table. Nice place to get a burger. Although its a burger place I also recommend the meatloaf sandwich it is very good. Also the truffle spuds are amazing. The one things I didn't like was the kobe burger as I've had them at a much higher price point and this cheaper one didn't compare. Soup is also usually good. Don't even touch their tuna hamburger! I went there with a friend for lunch. I wanted to treat her before I moved out of State and so we headed to what we thought was going to be a pleasant experience. She had a tuna hamburger and after we finished our lunch she ordered another one to take home for her husband. Sadly, she got sick right after our lunch and her husband got really sick during the night and ended at the ER the next day. He was treated there for seafood poisoning. I called today to discuss the matter and spoke with Timothy who identified himself as the Manager. He denied knowing anything about it (my friend had informed him already of what had happened), refused to refund my credit card at least, was extremely rude, and acted like I was making the whole thing up. My last two experiences of food were blaah. The first time I went I found the truffle fries to have taken a complete hit in the mcdonalds drive through, served with hardly any flavor and just a bunch of parmesean cheese dumped on the top. Once upon a time, they were cooked properly and had just the right amount of truffle oil spread through them with parsley and sprinkles of cheese. Most recent I went I went and replaced the fries with salad ...way too much dressing on the salad. The burger meat has taken a turn for the worst too, bland and tasted like something a blend I'd get at stop and shop. I was also told they raised their prices...no, I do not look at prices when I go out to eat, it's something I love..but seriosly...you are going to raise the prices and cut your quality? read more

Let me start by saying the food here is super good. The service on the other hand has its on and off days. Tonight was one of those off days. I came in about an hour before they close and we're seated immediately. There were probably only 3 other tables of customers there. Service in the beginning was fine, but after she took our orders she didn't ask if we needed anything after gave us our food. She didn't refill our water. Never came to check back on the table. She also took my plate without asking if I was done with it. She only came back to give us our bill. Let me repeat it was not busy at all especially on a Monday night, so there isn't an excuse for bad service. She checked on the table next to us a gazillion time. Well past time I left a review for Max burger. My wife and I love these folks. We have small children, and we never feel like we are a nuisance. Meaning placed in the back near the bathroom or the kitchen. Max burger can be loud and our little ones noise is drowned out....so A+ on that. I typically get a burger and sweat potatoe fries...my wife tuna burger and truffle fries. Kids, well that depends. Service is usually consistently good. My favorite part is the rotating beer selection...draft and bottle. We take friends from out of town often, and they typically love Max burger. Sometimes we have a busy week, and just want to go somewhere special w the family...or my bro and I go to spend a hour or two catching up at the bar....always have a good time. we may participate in the mug program.... We went to Max Burger yesterday for the first and probably last time. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, and that may be high. I ordered a Black Jack with "8 oz. blackened, jalapeño jack cheese, roasted green chiles, guacamole, honey-chipotle onions, artisan roll" I like hot food, like the Burnin' Love burger at Red Robin. First the positives: good beer selection, decent seating outside (plastic tables), great fries (comparable to Five Guys fries). Now the negatives: Poor service, my first beer went empty for so long that the glass dried! Our food was served and we didn't have napkins or silverware, Jill had to swipe some from another table. Fries: "Hand-cut fries", really? No, they used a fry cutter, I know, I have one. They tasted good, but Five Guys are just as good at half the price. Burger: I expected HEAT, I got a burger covered in a mass of green flavorless substance that I assume was once mild green peppers. The cheese was also flavorless, a white coating of what could easily be mistaken for American Cheese. NO comparison to a Red Robin or Five Guys burger. Want cheese, mushrooms or other items on your burger? Each one is $1 more, REALLY? You charge $12-$17 for a burger and you want us to pay for cheese? Our server asked if we wanted to join their frequent diner's club to earn "points", I politely declined. Save your money, go to Red Robin if you want atmosphere and beer, or Five Guys if you simply want a good burger for a reasonable price. read more

Very friendly staff. The manager always greets you and makes you feel welcomed. Food is always high quality. It's also pretty clean for the most part. On occasion I'll get a glass or plate that still has stuff on it but it's rare. The burgers are just as good as Bobby Flay's burger down at Mohegan. Best burger around this area. read more

This place is amazing, a true favorite of ours. We've been coming here for years because they have such great food. Awesome beer selection. Tonight it got even better...someone in our party has a milk and egg allergy. She thought she was ordering an allergy friendly meal based on her own knowledge. She mentioned to the server she had an egg and milk allergy. Our server went above and beyond to check the ingredients of everything she ordered without being asked and came back to warn us the roll did have an allergen in it and gave her non-allergic options. I know allergies are a pain to deal with and I know it's up to the customer to manage this, so we are beyond grateful that the restaurant went above and beyond like this. This vegan walked into Max Burger (with her parents...I normally wouldn't waltz into a burger joint and expect special service!) and was blown away by both the service and the food. I was going to get a salad, but my dad insisted on asking the server about vegan options. She was very gracious and, after asking someone in the kitchen, revealed the array of vegan options. I had the veggie chili sans cheese and the veggie burger (no bun) - both were absolutely delicious. I ate at Max Burger on a Saturday night with my mom and sister. We arrived at 6:15 and were told by the host that it was a 25 minute wait. No problem - they took our cell # and said they'd text us when a table was ready. We headed to the bar and had a round of drinks. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. My sister asked for a draft recommendation and tried the Ommegang Witte as a result. She enjoyed and my mom like her Moscow Mule which was served in a cool copper cup. After about a half hour, we hadn't received a text, so we ordered another round and chatted with the people eating at the bar. After 45 minutes, my sister went to check with host. He said our table was almost ready and that we should be the next party seated. Fine, no problem. We waited another 20 minutes and then ordered a 3rd round of drinks. By now, it was after 7 and we were getting hungry! We thought about ordering an app at the bar, but thought that as soon as we did, our table would be ready. We watched from the bar as 3 tables of 4 were seated. After 1 hour and 20 minutes my sister checked with the host again. He was quite rude. We don't mind waiting for a table, but don't tell us 25 minutes or that we'll be the next people seated if neither is true! Finally, at 7:30 we were shown to a table. Our waitress was efficient and our appetizers and burgers were good. My family had burgers off the menu while I tried the "low country boil" burger recommended by our server. This is my second visit to Max Burger in Longmeadow but only my first for lunch. We went there mainly because Berkshire Brewing Co "River Ale" was on tap. It is very difficult to find within an hours ride of north central CT so this was a treat 1/2hr from home. Ooops.......I did say WAS on tap. The waitress informed us that the draught menu changes all the time. So, ok, we order a bottle of a Scottish ale to split and find it "just ok". Checking the bottle we find the "Best By" date to be 3 mo. past due. "Stop ur whining" Just order an "Innis and Gunn". Always outstanding.. YIPES! ,! ! Skunky beer. My buddy calls over the manager, James, and expresses our concerns 1. Changing draught beers often 2. Selling beers that are past their prime. James was wonderful. Listened attentively. Was empathetic. Promised to take our concerns to the bar manager. Now the food. C'mon......it's Max. I have eaten at all of the Max restaurants and have never had a bad meal. Never had an average meal. That is what you come to expect. Always wonderful dishes, perfectly prepared, served by professional attentive waitstaff. This restaurant is no different. A burger cooked to my liking and just delicious while my buddy "got wild" and tried a steak hot dog. Both wonderful. Our suggestion.........set aside 5 or 6 taps for a core set of draughts that your customers appear to like ( the BBC River Ale sold out fast we were told) and rotate the remaining 10 + taps. I consider myself a bit of a burger aficionado. I lived in Longmeadow for years and we were sorely lacking for a real restaurant, so naturally when Max Burger opened, I tried it out the first week. When I still lived in western Mass I went probably every 1-2 weeks. I have tried almost every burger, and love hearing their daily specials and trying those out occasionally. I've never had anything but a burger so I can't comment on the chicken, fish, or entrees. I almost always get the amazing truffle fries and several glasses of the St. Supery sauvignon blanc. I've tried the gluten-free cupcake - delicious. The icebox pie was my least favorite menu item as it tasted freezer-burned. I've never had a burger I didn't love. I'm not crazy about bacon but I tried to bacon lollipops - they were interesting and tasty. The service is always excellent, the bartenders are friendly and experienced, the wait is usually shorter than promised (and they do offer call-ahead seating), and it's the only place in town open late enough to catch playoff games or stop for a post-night out drink or dessert. The manager (Tim, I think?) is always present and is professional yet friendly with guests. Everyone here makes you feel valued as a paying customer but treats you like an old friend when you aren't sure what to order. I have been to Plan B Burger in Springfield several times and while the menu is more extensive, they don't hold a candle to the quality and service at Max Burger. I do wish they would figure out the outside seating situation, though. Last summer, they apparently did not have the proper licensing to serve food or drinks, but people could bring drinks outside and sit at the patio tables. It's only just warmed up enough for that this year, and I hope they will offer outdoor service. read more

As others have said, the veggie burger here is to die for. Got it with the eggplant fries, amazing but not as healthy as they sound! My 4 yo loves their kids selection, which is actually real food, not frozen kids' meals. I haven't always loved max restaurants but this is a great addition to the Longmeadow shops area. read more

So mixed review on Max Burger. The atmosphere and look are great. I see this being a popular spot to grab a craft beer. The beer / wine selection was very good. Our waiter, Will, was excellent and attentive. So far we are 5 out of 5. The good was alright. Wife ordered a tuna burger cooked medium. The burger arrives well done and looks ground almost like turkey. Very odd for a Ahi Tuna burger. We asked the waiter about it and he sends the general manager over. The manager starts to explain it's a Tuna burger and starts cutting up the burger and says, "We ordered wrong!" We should have ordered rare because medium is the same as full. He then takes a piece of burger and says, "Smell this it's Tuna!" To say the least the general manager in is a complete A@@ and needs to learn how to talk to customers. The replacement burger arrived still over done and manager didn't come back to check. If it wasn't for the excellent waiter the rating would have been much lower than 3 out of 5. read more

OK, I gave the place 4 stars, but I'd give the location 1 star. I wish I could enjoy the best burgers on the planet without having to enter the dreaded Longmeadow Shops parking lot. After turning off Bliss, it's like I'm in an over-privileged version of Frogger: look out for that Escalade barreling directly toward you...oh no, teenage girl in fur and Uggs standing in the middle of the flow of traffic...crap, that Maserati is taking up four spots (how is that even possible). Once inside and safe, these guys almost always make you feel welcome, particularly if the manager is around. The staff can be AMAZING, but not all of the staff is created equal. An elderly member of my party once vomited up an entire meal in the dining room (nothing to do with the Max food). The servers were awesome and actually cleaned it up while being 100% cheerful and professional. Who does that? Anyway, the food at Max is always great. Bacon lollipops are killer, and their burgers are always juicy and cooked properly. Max Sauce is delish and their bread & butter pickles rock. They make a great Moscow Mule, too. The dining room is a little awkward in set up; I prefer the high tops in the lounge or the bar itself. I had a gazpacho there once that was out of this world. The outside dining is great! read more

took my two nephews out for burgers. They are teenagers and can eat a ton, so i thought this would be great. Sent the pulled pork back because it was super dried out. The waitress even laughed a bit when I showed her. My nephews wolfed down 'fatty melts' that they really enjoyed. My asian kale salad was pretty good. now for the fun part. I eat at max restaurants 3 times a week. The hall of fame location and Max's downtown in Hartford have great food and incredible service. However the bartenders at max Burger in Longmeadow(never been to the one in West Hartford) are absolutely terrible. It's been the same bartenders for a few years and they don't have a clue. Extremely forgetful (literally forget my appetizer every single time I sit at the bar no exaggeration). How they still work for max restaurant group is beside me. I've waited close to 10 minutes to get my water refilled before. With that being said, the food is 4 out of 5, service is 1 out of 5, so I gave them 3 stars. read more

Had the Fatty Melt burger which was supposed to be a burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. What I got was a burger in the middle of a grilled cheese sandwich with a thin slice of tomato. The crusts were trimmed from the bread making it too small for the burger. The bread was greasy and sogged out making it messy and difficult to eat. The server was very friendly and helpful with menu questions. Bar prices were slightly pricey but the drinks and the beer selection were good. Tried the bacon lollipop appetizer and they are a bit over the top. But if you are a bacon lover, you may like it. The pulled pork spring rolls were excellent. Overall I found it an expensive evening for a burger and fries that didn't impress. read more

Awful. Each time I have eaten there I get sick whether it's an upset stomach or digestive issues. I've tried to like it. A plain salad with chicken is fine. Their burgers are not that great. The buns are dry. The scallop salad is good but that is the one meal that I get sick off of. A few friends have too. The atmosphere is great friendly staff very nice manager , well run. I do not think this food is anything special at all. Max' tavern in Springfield is , but this place I avoid at all costs. read more
