I made an appointment for an inspection and received confirmation that the appointment via email. When I got there for the appointment, the guy told me they were busy and it would be an hour or more before they could get me in. I asked him what the point of making an appointment was. He was dismissive and told me anyone could make an appointment anytime...? I just left. I understand being busy, but why make an appointment for a specific time if they can't accommodate that? Today they tried to charge me $1150 just to change a small section of exhaust pipe. Meanwhile they made me wait over an hour as they stood in front of the car gossiping. While it took less than 5 minutes to actually look at it and know what needs to be done. They tried to scam me out of a full exhaust system, as well as new tires even though my tires are new. read more

I went back to have a meeting about my issue and Chris the manager was very nice and took care of everything for me along with Manager Wayne so all is well. My mother went to this place with the expectation of getting decent service. These people took BIG TIME ADVANTAGE of her because of her age. The total charge for an inspection with a discount was 1780.47 (dollars). This price is not acceptable at all. My mother doesn't do alot of driving and her vehicle is in excellent condition. And they didn't even do an oil change. They rip elderly people off. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Reservation is meaningless. While I'm paying the $104 bill, for a reserved appt oil change, inspection, I have to deal with tire upselling and on the way home, look at the sticker. NO INSPECTION was done. 90 minutes for a $104 oil change and no inspection, the reason I made the 'reservation' to begin with. Which they have no record of. Discount tire, you get what you pay for, so why wasn't my oil change a discount price? read more

Two times I was given an appointment and both times it was clear to me that its first come first serve. My oil change appointment had 10 people in front of me at the door and then I was told they couldn't do it my snow tire appointment at 6 p.m. being done by 8 p.m. turned out to be 10 p.m. read more

My experience with Mavis was rife with unprofessional and unethical business practices. When I called for an appointment, I was told that business was slow at that time and I could come right in to have tires installed. I quickly headed to Mavis, and when I arrived was told the wait would be extensive. When I told the counter clerk that I did not have time, she checked with the manager and said they could certainly work me in without a long wait. Fast forward two hours and they still had not pulled my car in to the bay. When they finally did, I asked if they could also renew the NYS inspection. Here is where it gets bad. They gave me a litany of problems that "had to be" addressed or they'd have to fail my car (which has fewer than 28,000 miles on it). Since I'd just had the car checked out by a mechanic when the oil was changed, I declined and they of course failed my car. Two days later I took the car to one of the highest-rated auto repair shops in the area and, surprise!, the car passed. No issues. Now, here is what really bothered me: the couple that came in to Mavis after me was given almost the same list of issues that I was given. They said they could not afford the high price of those "necessary" repairs, so the manager happily signed them up for financing. I checked their website this morning - their financing APR is 29.99%!! (And currently the prime rate is barely over 3%). The other issues were minor compared to these, but it is noteworthy that a couple of their mechanics got into a yelling match with each other while I was there, with one clearly intimidating the other. read more

Had an appointment for a simple inspection. Scheduled an appointment which I arrived to on time. After almost two hours waiting I left, called another place up the road and got in right away. There was a girl who had been there an hour before me who will still waiting when I left. She was there for only an inspection too! I don't know if they are short handed, horribly unorganized or what exactly the issue is but I can tell you from my experience that they don't value other peoples time at all. read more

Tried to buy front tires to match the ones on the back. Call Mavis and told 'Paul' what I needed. I was told that they don't have that tire (Kelly Edge). After explaining to him that I bought the rear tires there previously, the conversation was about over. After hanging up I looked it up on the internet and they do sell that tire. I called back and spoke to 'Chris' this time. he told me that if I saw them on the Internet I should order them. I told him I wanted them to order them not me. I made the appointment online. It did not provide a time. I got to the location around 12:15 pm. I walked in the reception area and no one was there. I waited a couple of minutes then walked out to the guy on the phone who indicated he was on the phone with his boss. Okay. A couple of minutes later he gets off the phone and apologizes for the delay. He pulls up my information and says someone will pull my car in. That was approximately 12:20 pm. I sat there for 15 minutes while 3 men were on staff yet no one was pulling in my car. The same guy that helped me was now back on his phone, another guy was working on a tire and another one seemed to be rearranging the stacks of tires. I don't know where the disconnect is but if someone makes an appointment, MAVIS website should allow a time setting, and also, a customer should not be waiting for 15 minutes for something that takes less than 10 minutes. In my own opinion, I don't think any of these men were doing anything critical. They could have handled my oil change and continued with what they were doing after. I didn't expect anyone to drop everything and cater to me, but if I make an appointment, at least act like that matters. Your staff was very indifferent about the fact I was waiting unnecessarily. make my reservation for 9 am for a tires replacement got there at 8:30 wait one yes one hour and nothing, ended up leaving of the building.. as far as i could see workers are REALLY REALLY slow and no one cares even the manager was seating in a chair doing nothing .. smh read more

Terrible location. I made an appointment for a tire realignment only to show up the next day and hear that their alignment machine had been broken for a couple weeks so they were unable to do the alignment. They didn't even have the professionalism to tell me about this predicament ahead of my visit. Avoid this place if you can! read more

Horrible service, do not go here ever! Took over 3 hours to get to me, in spite of my appointment. Then they failed my car for nys inspection saying the rotors were rusted. What a scam! If you want to go to a shop where they tell you to get things fixed just to make a quick buck then this place is great. They've lost mine and my family's business after my last appointment there, they always try up selling and convincing us to get things we don't need. Not an honest place. read more

I have had a great experience every time I have needed their services. When alignments didn't come out perfect they where very helpful and re did them promptly and without charging again or any drama. They also look under the car and let you know if you have any brakes, muffler or suspension issues that might be crawling. read more

I brought my vehicle to Mavis for a second opinion on some work that needed to be done after speaking with the manager he gave me a discounted price and agreed to do the work for about 20% less than his competitor after I drop my vehicle off he called me about 20 minutes later and informed me that in fact the work did not need to be done that I was misinformed I thanked him for his honesty and ask him to change my oil and flush my transmission fluid I would highly recommend this company read more

I recently moved back to the area and needed new tires. I shopped around and the prices were pretty comparable but went here because the service was impeccable! They didn't try to upsell or tell me I needed unnecessary service. The customer service was outstanding. About a month or so later, I had an issue with my brakes. I returned here because of the customer service. read more
