This place should be avoided. After selling me new tires, one went flat immediately due to a "valve malfunction", and another developed a slow leak right away. I brought it in 3 times to fix the leak, and each time they said there was "no leak". They even replaced the tire and it kept happening. I eventually took the car to another tire shop which found the leak at the rim (caused by improper installation by Mavis) within 15 minutes and fixed it. This place is ok for an oil change but don't go here for tires or any repairs, they aren't very good or competent. read more

Stay far away from this place. Staff seems unmotivated and under qualified. The manager is friendly, but that doesn't fix the entire array of issues I encountered during my tire purchase and installation: 1. A weird discussion with the first clerk who insisted my tires had not been delivered. Classic, after 5 minutes of insisting someone sent him off to check: bingo, they have been delivered all along. 2. The next discussion with another clerk who gives me a total price that didn't check out to me at first. Could have been resolved somewhat easily by showing me the itemized invoice, but it took another few minutes of arguing until that was finally resolved. Her aloof attitude did not help (the manager later apologized - but I doubt she was reprimanded). 3. During my tire installation which I watched the "mechanics" - most of them very young - dropped two of my wheels from considerable height, face first. On these wheels, maybe not the most practical design ever, that means metal-on-concrete impact. I can't say 100% for certain if the damage I see is curb rash or from the drop, but it surely can't be good for the wheels - and it is also straight unprofessional and negligent. 4. Unlike what Mavis advertises they blast down the bolts with the air gun and then somewhat symbolically torque them - but not to spec. I had to intervene and tell the guy what the factory spec for my car is, he was 30 ft-lb too low. 5. Two out of four valve caps were missing after installation until I complained. 6. Upon returning home I check the pressures: 3 out of 4 tires are at 40 PSI (the spec for the car is 35), and I also notice that they had only replaced 1 valve stem, and I paid to replace all 4. So now I have to navigate getting that sorted out.... Apologies for the rant, but in a nutshell: What are you thinking? It is inconceivable how you can run a business like this. I spoke to the (national) Mavis customer service who was very friendly and trying to be helpful by setting me up with another branch to sort out the missing bits (valve stems) since I am not inclined to let these guys touch my car or my wheels again. I hope that other location will be more professional. read more

Avoid. A simple tire change turned into a 5-6 trip follow up because staff could not get my "check TPMS system" light to turn off (it had never been on prior to the tire change). Each visit took 2 hours of my time and the issue never got resolved, although I was promised it would be fixed each time I came. Over the course of this 3-5 month ordeal, Management changed about 3 times so I think that speaks to the environment of this place. It wasn't until I visited another Mavis in the upstate area that my issue got fixed. It took them 5 minutes to fix what this location could not fix (again, it was their mistake) in 3-5 months. Not to mention the fact that i had an appointment on my first visit and was still there for over 2 hours. Interesting that the majority of the 5 star reviews are from accounts with one review lol. I purchased brand new tires in November 2023. After less than 5000 miles of city driving, the front tires need replacing. Mavis refuses to replace them. They were even trying to say that I didn't purchase it from them until I was ready to show my paper receipts. Why not replace when it's been less than a year of purchase. Summary to Part 1 On Google (I was so stressed while typing that, my apologies) The experience I had at this location was terrible. After paying for an oil change on Aug 18, I discovered that it hadn't been done correctly, if at all, which led to several issues with my car. I'd never previously had engine or oil warning lights, but soon after, both came on. I returned to the shop on Aug 31 to address the issue and was advised to buy genuine parts to fix the Engine light that came on first, which I did, but this only made the problem worse. They also replaced four tires without consulting me on the brand, then instructed me to pay in cash for a "better deal" on labor. The immediate day after, Sept. 1st, both Oil light and Engine light came on. Despite promises, I didn't get a receipt until I demanded it on Sept 3. To which the supervisor confirmed and I saw first hand (on video) Oil was extremely low. Supervisor also confirmed there was no leak, and after that, the oil light did not come on after she supervised it getting done. The supervisor eventually suggested I go to a dealership for repairs, which they should have recommended earlier, saving me time and money. At the dealership, they found faulty parts that Mavis had installed, which added to the problems. When I contacted Mavis' regional manager, Michael Medina, for support, he repeatedly hung up on me, and my emails went unanswered. His defense was that his team "just tried to help," which left me feeling deceived and overcharged. Part 2 (Revised): Is it normal to avoid documenting services and then produce a vague receipt only after customers demand it? This experience felt like being conned rather than "helped." I've provided proof of every interaction and timeline, but Mavis refuses to investigate further or even read the emails I sent to Michael Medina and their corporate office. Please remember that customers are the reason for your business--treat us respectfully. All I want is a refund for the faulty services and parts that were never properly installed. The first person I spoke to was very apologetic and said it was regrettable that I had such a poor experience; so, she said she would request that a manager give me a call to address the matter. And, about a half hour later, I received a call from another young woman who asked me to describe what happened so she could figure out how to rectify the matter. Made an appointment online for 2 pm, new tires. Usually a quick thing. Got there a few moments early. Got checked in and was told to sit and wait. 1 hr and 45 min later I asked for my keys back, since my car wasn't even inside yet and I was tired. Was told that I was next. It's NYC, no one gives a fck but I'd rather spend my money somewhere else. What's the point in making appointments? At mavis I came in and stated I was there for 2 new rare tires and that's what I left with, the price I was given over the phone is the price I paid. I was given a break down and comparison with all available brands. Once I decided what was best, I was offered WiFi and water along with treats they had set out for guest. Of course, we already knew they were not going to HONOR any type of REAL RELIABLE customer service support to us, that is why we did not call them back immediately after I saw their post. Before my husband called, we knew we were just going through the motion of calling Mavis, because we know they are NOT going to offer any type of support. I just wanted everyone to know the name of the person we would be speaking to at Mavis and what their comment would be, so that I can add it to this post. My husband spoke to Crystal this morning. Crystal told my husband the regional manager returned his phone call last month. Now that is very funny, since there are no records of Mavis calling my husband. We called the office and sent emails and the only time Mavis responded back to us, is when I posted the review on Yelp, which is when Mavis posted for us to call them, that's it, no other time. IF the regional manager REALLY called and did not get anyone, why did they not leave a message? We emailed them, couldn't they email us back, if they could not get us by phone? Is the regional manager aware that as a manager they are supposed to leave a message, for the customer to return their call. The regional manager is so busy taking care of what region, not the region I am in. Crystal is just the mouthpiece, repeating what the regional manager told her to say and do, where is her proof they called? That regional manager never called that is why I wrote the review. Don't they know there is a phone bill that can CONFIRM they called and or left a message. Again, Crystal said the rotors are over the 12K miles mark and there is nothing they can do at this point. We knew that already. Crystal is not saying anything we did not anticipate, again, she is just the mouthpiece, who is taking the heat for the regional manager; I say that because every time you call, the regional manager is NEVER available. Mavis website has the link to contact them, but Mavis do not read those emails, nor do they respond to them. Mavis ONLY responds to the Yelp post to make it look like they are concerned about your experience, and that they are willing to help; look at my experience, some help they are. Again, Crystal is just the mouthpiece, that has to say what they TOLD her to say. Forget about Mavis personnel having a CONSCIENCE or INTEGRITY. Based on their LACK of action, Mavis provides lack luster service, and once there is a complaint, Mavis does the bare minimum or NOTHING to fix the issue or come to an agreeable resolution for their customer. Sooner or later, Mavis' LACK of ensuring their customer is supported correctly, will have an impact on their pockets.
