Made an 8am appointment online. Was greeted warmly by Jackie. I felt like my car concerns were heard. The car was put on lift within minutes after checking in. The waiting area has comfy seating, tv and water. I took a short walk up Utica Ave. There are plenty of Caribbean markets. Did some fruit shopping. When i returned my wheel alignment and wheel balance was completed in just about an hour. Speedy and courteous service and reasonable prices! read more

Bought 4 tires online to be installed at Mavis Tires on Utica Avenue Brooklyn. After I got the receipt at the shop, each tire was charged for $15.99 more for a total of $63.96 dollars more than what was listed online and what the initial invoice said. I spoke to the manager and he gave me a customer service number to call. After several months of getting the run around. I stopped calling. The regional manger(who they said was the only one who could solve the issue) kept telling customer service he called me, when there were no missed calls or messages on my phone. And they had my correct number. After spending a total of $879.81 for the tire and installation I expected better customer service. This is not the first time I used a Mavis store, but it will be the last. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable of service and what is needed without being pushy. Very helpful with ordering tires and location was very clean. read more

Came in a couple of weeks ago for a wheel alignment. I usually make my appointment for 8:00am. First one in, first one out. 25 Honda Passport travels straight. Then I came back for a tire rotation, done in 20 minutes and no charge. That is why I come back! read more

This place should be avoided. After selling me new tires, one went flat immediately due to a "valve malfunction", and another developed a slow leak right away. I brought it in 3 times to fix the leak, and each time they said there was "no leak". They even replaced the tire and it kept happening. I eventually took the car to another tire shop which found the leak at the rim (caused by improper installation by Mavis) within 15 minutes and fixed it. This place is ok for an oil change but don't go here for tires or any repairs, they aren't very good or competent. read more

Richi is amazing. His customer service is impeccable. I have been coming to Mavis for years with no issues. Absolutely AMAZING staff. Dave is amazing as well. He's very thorough. read more

As soon as my vehicle was detached from the tow truck, a Mavis auto mechanic was driving it into a bay to plug my tire. I would have liked a plug from the inside of the tire, but I understand that Mavis doesn't provide this service. Excellent service all around and at a great price. Thanks! read more

Awful customer service. Manager and black guy at front desk have a very nasty attitude . Would not recommend.

Avoid. A simple tire change turned into a 5-6 trip follow up because staff could not get my "check TPMS system" light to turn off (it had never been on prior to the tire change). Each visit took 2 hours of my time and the issue never got resolved, although I was promised it would be fixed each time I came. Over the course of this 3-5 month ordeal, Management changed about 3 times so I think that speaks to the environment of this place. It wasn't until I visited another Mavis in the upstate area that my issue got fixed. It took them 5 minutes to fix what this location could not fix (again, it was their mistake) in 3-5 months. Not to mention the fact that i had an appointment on my first visit and was still there for over 2 hours. Interesting that the majority of the 5 star reviews are from accounts with one review lol. Will legit never return. read more

went in for tire repair excellent professional service also received free tire rotation, which was needed appreciated

I called to verify my quote and the gentleman I spoke to was very sassy and hung up the phone after verifying the price. No professionalism or courtesy. But you want $3000 for repairs!!! Kiss my ssa!!!! read more

Stay far away from this place. Staff seems unmotivated and under qualified. The manager is friendly, but that doesn't fix the entire array of issues I encountered during my tire purchase and installation: 1. A weird discussion with the first clerk who insisted my tires had not been delivered. Classic, after 5 minutes of insisting someone sent him off to check: bingo, they have been delivered all along. 2. The next discussion with another clerk who gives me a total price that didn't check out to me at first. Could have been resolved somewhat easily by showing me the itemized invoice, but it took another few minutes of arguing until that was finally resolved. Her aloof attitude did not help (the manager later apologized - but I doubt she was reprimanded). 3. During my tire installation which I watched the "mechanics" - most of them very young - dropped two of my wheels from considerable height, face first. On these wheels, maybe not the most practical design ever, that means metal-on-concrete impact. I can't say 100% for certain if the damage I see is curb rash or from the drop, but it surely can't be good for the wheels - and it is also straight unprofessional and negligent. 4. Unlike what Mavis advertises they blast down the bolts with the air gun and then somewhat symbolically torque them - but not to spec. I had to intervene and tell the guy what the factory spec for my car is, he was 30 ft-lb too low. 5. Two out of four valve caps were missing after installation until I complained. 6. Upon returning home I check the pressures: 3 out of 4 tires are at 40 PSI (the spec for the car is 35), and I also notice that they had only replaced 1 valve stem, and I paid to replace all 4. So now I have to navigate getting that sorted out.... Apologies for the rant, but in a nutshell: What are you thinking? It is inconceivable how you can run a business like this. I spoke to the (national) Mavis customer service who was very friendly and trying to be helpful by setting me up with another branch to sort out the missing bits (valve stems) since I am not inclined to let these guys touch my car or my wheels again. I hope that other location will be more professional. read more

I purchased brand new tires in November 2023. After less than 5000 miles of city driving, the front tires need replacing. Mavis refuses to replace them. They were even trying to say that I didn't purchase it from them until I was ready to show my paper receipts. Why not replace when it's been less than a year of purchase. I would not recommend anyone to visit this location and possibly all Mavis discount locations. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Mavis over 2 years now. I first came to them to replace my tires. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted with a friendly smile and professionalism of the Manager. The mechanics are very helpful and friendly as well. I usually take my car to my Honda dealer for regular maintenance but I find I can have most of the same services done at Mavis at a competitive price point. I've been coming here for various services ever since. If you're looking for a great location to service your car, tell them I sent you. BTW...the manager's name is Ash. Fast, friendly service at a affordable price ...you won't be disappointed. read more

To Pat s. my claim # is 941105, been calling for weeks. elizabeth mgr acts like she has no time yet she gossips, and makes up stories like my auto collision shop said an ex girlfriend must have done it because scratch looks like a g, When we went to the Mavis Islandia to take photos of which none of the cameras face the door in a quarter of the parking lot where the workers sit in the car and smoke pot, is where I am sure it occurred. They all told us that Elizabeth said these things, so she has time to mock us with false lies, and so do they but no time to help us. She never answered our calls for weeks. Best place to come have service done. Every time I come here I swear I'm in despair. Whether it's my tires, battery or having an oil change. The guys that work here always answer my questions, offer to help out and give honest answers. I had a bmw 535xi came here for service Now I have a Kia Sorrento and this is my spot. The office is small but clean, they have a little waiting area for same day repairs. The technicians and mechanics are professional and polite. The service and labor fees are affordable compared to a lot of auto shops near by, and around brooklyn. Believe me I spend hours analyzing what's the best option. You can make an appointment online or over the phone which is helpful. And check out their website they usually have deals and coupons to help save you a little cash! Thanks for the great work y'all Jamal is the best! read more

Made an appointment online for 2 pm, new tires. Usually a quick thing. Got there a few moments early. Got checked in and was told to sit and wait. 1 hr and 45 min later I asked for my keys back, since my car wasn't even inside yet and I was tired. Was told that I was next. I asked what that meant, was told "one goes out the other comes in". ‍ Figured I'd give it a few more moments. 10 min later one car went out. Mine didn't make it in. Another 10 min later. Another goes out, my poor car still not getting in. Gave them another 15 min. Nothing. Asked for my keys and left. 2hr and 20 min of sitting there. No "hey sorry". No water. Nothing. It's NYC, no one gives a fck but I'd rather spend my money somewhere else. What's the point in making appointments? If you don't care when you get your car back and can just let it sit there, drop it off and good luck to you. I drove 20 min to and from the place. The whole thing was just a massive waste of my time. A whole afternoon for nothing.Hope that helps. read more

received great service kaleel had my car in and out in very fast definitely going back for my next oil change

I've been coming here a long time to get work on my car and this is the only location I trust. The staff/managers are laid back, professional and are all pretty nice guys. They get things done on my car quickly and usually at a pretty decent price compared to other shops. Check online for the prices of tires because a lot of times they have sales that are not shown in the store. This way, you're able to purchase and set up your appointment services done They mostly deal with tires tires undercarriage brakes in that sort of thing but they continue a referral for other car issues as well. read more

I followed through and contacted Mavis as requested by the response to my first review. The first person I spoke to was very apologetic and said it was regrettable that I had such a poor experience; so, she said she would request that a manager give me a call to address the matter. And, about a half hour later, I received a call from another young woman who asked me to describe what happened so she could figure out how to rectify the matter. After I explained the matter and my disappointment in the work on my car and frustration in their customer service, she apologized and said she would have her boss (Medina) call me to rectify the situation. That was 3 weeks ago and nothing has happened. My treatment as a customer is completely unacceptable! Mind you, this was the Utica Avenue location! read more

Summary to Part 1 On Google (I was so stressed while typing that, my apologies) The experience I had at this location was terrible. After paying for an oil change on Aug 18, I discovered that it hadn't been done correctly, if at all, which led to several issues with my car. I'd never previously had engine or oil warning lights, but soon after, both came on. I returned to the shop on Aug 31 to address the issue and was advised to buy genuine parts to fix the Engine light that came on first, which I did, but this only made the problem worse. They also replaced four tires without consulting me on the brand, then instructed me to pay in cash for a "better deal" on labor. The immediate day after, Sept. 1st, both Oil light and Engine light came on. Despite promises, I didn't get a receipt until I demanded it on Sept 3. To which the supervisor confirmed and I saw first hand (on video) Oil was extremely low. Supervisor also confirmed there was no leak, and after that, the oil light did not come on after she supervised it getting done. The supervisor eventually suggested I go to a dealership for repairs, which they should have recommended earlier, saving me time and money. At the dealership, they found faulty parts that Mavis had installed, which added to the problems. When I contacted Mavis' regional manager, Michael Medina, for support, he repeatedly hung up on me, and my emails went unanswered. His defense was that his team "just tried to help," which left me feeling deceived and overcharged. Part 2 (Revised): Is it normal to avoid documenting services and then produce a vague receipt only after customers demand it? This experience felt like being conned rather than "helped." I've provided proof of every interaction and timeline, but Mavis refuses to investigate further or even read the emails I sent to Michael Medina and their corporate office. Please remember that customers are the reason for your business--treat us respectfully. All I want is a refund for the faulty services and parts that were never properly installed. For anyone with legal advice, I have all documentation, including pictures, messages, and bank statements. Mavis, if you value your reputation, address this situation to protect future customers and refund me what I paid. Reference number: 938481. read more

Customer service was A-1. Staff was very informative. Definately found a new auto shop.

I definitely would never recommend this place. Went in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Was told it should be done in 45 mins. After an hr an a half I realized my car was still outside in the lot and no work was done. Finally management bought my car in to start the work. After another hr and 10 mins finally my car is ready. Very unprofessional, management needs to do better. read more

I went into mavis today to get new tires and the customer service was excellent. I'm often nervous about going to take care of anything for my vehicle alone, thinking I'll be taken advantage of because of my lack of car knowledge. At mavis I came in and stated I was there for 2 new rare tires and that's what I left with, the price I was given over the phone is the price I paid. I was given a break down and comparison with all available brands. Once I decided what was best, I was offered WiFi and water along with treats they had set out for guest. It did take 2 hours, but I also didn't have an appointment and was told over the phone there'd be a wait. I will definitely make this my regular tire shop. read more

I wish there was an option for zero Stars. I arrived at 12 for my "appointment" there were 3 cars ahead of me. Told Jamie i drove 45 mins to get there in the rain, couldn't give a rats ass! Of course i ended up leaving, i said to Jamie how about im sorry, say SOMETHING ANYTHING for the inconvenience.
