Hey guys & gals. Please forgive me as I'm technically illiterate so I'll be writing this review by trial & error. On Wednesday 11-17-21 I visited Mavis located on Pennsylvania Ave. In Brooklyn New York. I brought my 2004 Nissan Sentra in for a tire rotation and tire balancing. I was greeted by Manager Reggie who could not have been any more accommodating, knowledgeable, & very funny to boot. I waited no time until a technician by the name of Tyrel to come over to my car so we could get my car into the bay to address my tire issues. Tyrel had this look about him that spelled warmth,,friendliness & knowledgeable. Tyrel took my car into the bay, rotated & balanced my 4 tires and when done, met me in the customer service lounge so I could square away my bill and be on my way. Reggie & Tyrel must be acknowledged for their efforts and professionalisms. I've been going to Mavis for so many years that I couldn't even count. Easily at least my last 3 cars. Obviously they have a customer for life and I'd recommend Mavis to any one needing tires, brakes, shocks, and all other under the hood needs. I came here after failing my inspection because my brake pads were too low. I found Mavis on Google and I called and I got a quote of $99 for each axle on my SUV. Service was good for a repair shop, they even told me I could go next door to get my inspection which came with a free car wash. The rep that serviced me, communicated well the whole process and how long it would take and what to expect down to the price break down. It took about 2 hours for the shop to change my brakes on all 4 wheels. It comes with a lifetime guarantee and they'll swap your brakes out if you change vehicles. Mavis staff are unprofessional and there mechanics don't know anything about cars, I have a warranty for my brakes for a year, and they are not honoring their own warranty, I figured they are waiting for my warranty to expire to recharge, crooks!! My brake pads feels the same after they claimed they replaced it, I have to press all the way down on the brakes and it takes a while to stop. The brakes pads feels low when I press on it, and it vibrates when I brake. I have scheduled twice with this place and they are not servicing me. The front desk clerk has no professionalism, seems like he was never train to answer any questions! Terrible place to do business with. If I could give a zero rating, it would be too high for the Mavis tire discount on Pennsylvania Ave. With an appointment, I waited way over 5 hours just for 4 new tires. I took a cab home and back and still had to wait an extra 90 minutes. When they were finally finished, my rims had disgusting black grimy oil on them which I pointed out to Reggie. He just simply looked at me. The tires although weren't the most expensive, did not look new. I expressed to Reggie that the "new" tires looked worst than my old tires. Nor did they look like the ones I paid for. The tires looked old, used and beat up. Before driving off, I came back in and asked why was the yellow tire light and red (check tire pressure) light on? He said not to worry. It will come off after I drove around. Needless to say, I came back twice (two separate days) due to both lights remaining on. They tried to remove the error messages with their computer but was unsuccessful. The manager Kevin, who I found to be very arrogant, told me I had to take my car to the dealer and ask them to remove the signals because they were not equipped to do so. I explained that you can not walk into a Mercedes dealership and expect them to undo their failed attempt for free. His attitude was basically, oh well! I also expressed to said manager, if their company is not equipped to remove an error message in which they created, then perhaps they should not service those particular cars. I also informed Reggie that my mechanic, not knowing that I just purchased new tires said to me, "when you get a chance, get yourself a set of new tires". At which point, I requested for someone to do a test drive. Which resulted in a failed attempt to try to convince me into spending extra money for something that was not an issue prior to coming into their shop for tires. Also, I would most certainly be remiss, if I failed to mention, in the midst of a global pandemic, while attending to customers at the front desk area, none of the workers including said mgr, Kevin, wore a mask. In closing, It is my belief, as being an elderly woman; that I was definitely taken advantage of. I would never recommend nor return to Mavis, especially the one on Penn/Ave. Women Beware! read more

The Customer service was great when I bought a tire. As soon as there is a problem it will come out of your pocket and they don't want to listen. I ordered a tire because it was not in stock I had bought a used tire while I waited in between. Once I got my new tire installed and balanced 200 plus dollars. I told them if I could keep my used tire they said they already recycled my tire and I wouldn't be able to get it back. A few hours later the tire burst. Probably over filled. This location is alright. I went here to replace 4 tires and windshield wipers. Let's start at check in. I made a reservation online for 9 am and when I arrived at 845 there were two cars ahead of me. Who knew that it was first come first serve and the reservation would mean nothing. While waiting the new guy arrived and I'm sure he worked on my car. The guy Reggie in the front was cool and checked me in and advised of the policy. I was kept abreast of the work being done on my car but when I got my car back and on the road the windshield wiper flew off and the huff cap as well. This was horrible. I called customer service and awaited a call for a manager. The manger at the store called back and was apologetic but offered nothing but a "discount if I came back or not" imagine coming back paying top dollars for service and everything is falling off that they touched. First of all tires are not discounted as they are advertised possibly cheaper than the dealership but you can get same prices elsewhere. Very unprofessional service. After I ordered my tires a day earlier I was told truck would deliver the next day at 1pm and they would call me to come in. 1:00 pm the next day called them truck hadn't arrived yet so I asked them to please call me as soon as tires arrive. 2:30 no call so I called them just to find out truck did come and tires have been sitting here. I got to the shop at 2:35 have been waiting 2 hours and my car is still sitting in the yard, no one has began service yet meanwhile I can see workers at least 3 just hanging around office just joking.
