I had to call them to see if my car was ready, and it was! I had to ask questions of the advisor that I should't have to. He didn't have any knowledge on the warranty, he told me to contact the manufacturer. I have never been told this by a PepBoys advisor. I asked because I didn't see any of these online while booking the appointment or purchasing the tires. I asked about the wheel alignment told it was included in the service. It was not checked on the courtesy inspection report. I asked about warranty and what's covered he did not know. When I received my email upon returning home it says in both queries that the customer declined warranty and wheel alignment which is not true. I tried contacting the number on the report for the manager. Left a message never got a respond. I tried calling the store back and got nothing. Although the advisor told me they were open until 6pm on Saturday. I've never experienced this service feeling unsatisfied leaving a Pepboys retailer. This location is kind of hidden. If you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Had a 10am appointment for an oil change. My car didn't get seen until 12:30 - 12:45. Got my car back by 1:30. So the turn around time was actually pretty great once a mechanic actually got to my car. With every oil change you get a new oil filter & courtesy vehicle inspection. My oil change package included tire rotation & tread check. Star & Amanda were very nice & super patient! There were a couple people that were there before me that were complaining & berating them & they never got an attitude. I personally wanted to tell them to shut up though. Since it's not a full retail store, there aren't many items to buy. Just the basics: air fresheners, tire pressure gauges, sun shades, etc... The waiting area is really nice, comparable to one in a doctor's office. Equipped with a large TV & seats! Not too many seats though. There's a keurig with a variety of coffee to choose from. There's also a vending machine & a water fountian. Even a reusable bottle refill station, I wish I had my water bottle with me! The bathroom is one of the better public bathrooms I used. Didn't smell & actually had paper! When it's really quiet you can hear people pee. It's probably not a big deal to you, but I hate hearing other people pee even at home. I brought my car to this place with some creaking on the steering, and a rattling underneath the car. An hour later I'm called with a quote of nearly 3000 dollars. I needed according to them, a steering column , four new tires, parts labor etc. I take my car elsewhere and they tell me everything is fine and can make the winter with tires I have. My bill was 0. My life would literally have changed for the worst had I shelled out this money on a job that wasn't necessary. This Pep Boys at 2015 Utica Ave. Brooklyn NY sucks. Don't ever give them your business. I would never come here again and I am going to complain to the corporate office. I ordered 4 new tires on December 2, 2019. They told me they were not in stock and had to be ordered but I had to pay in advance which I did. They said they should be in on Friday December 6th. I called on Friday and they said they were in. They gave me a appointment for Saturday December 7th at 2pm for the tires to be installed and a wheel alignment said it should take about 1 hour. I get there on Saturday on time for my appointment and was told I had a 3 hour wait. How is that possible when you gave me a appointment for 3pm. So I leave the car and get a ride back home. I get a call around 5:15pm that my car is ready. I go to pick my car up and I am told that they only installed 3 tires not 4 tires (that I paid for). I ask how is that even possible. They tell me only 3 tires came in. So I ask didn't you know that before you told me they were in and gave me an appointment to get them installed. He said It was a mix up we didn't know the other one didn't come in, we will have to order you another one it should be here by Monday. Now I know that was a lie it took 6 days to get the 3 in so how would this one only take 2 days. So I asked will this affect the wheel alignment since you will have to put another tire on later. He said no it is only for a couple of days it will be fine. So he orders the tire and said they would call me when it comes in. So of course on Monday I didn't here from them. Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday no call so I call them Thursday. Of course the tire is not in. I call back on Friday it's in and they give me another appointment on Sunday December 15, 2019 at 3pm. Mind you they close at 4pm on Sundays So I should be in and out. I got here at 3pm it is now 5:42pm and I am still waiting for my car that only needs 1 tire installed. I am furious. What kind of customer service is this. You inconvenience me by having me have to come back a second time and you make me wait for over 3 hours again. They will never get my business ever again. They worked overtime on a Saturday and fixed what could have been a nasty accident in the making; would definitely come back here, if near and an issue pops up in my vehicle. On the west side of Utica Ave. Sign is clear, but a big tree outside so mind you don't fly past it if driving from Ave. N, heading north on Utica. Shop has a set of windshield wipers, air fresheners, cleaning solutions. Wait room only have 4 chairs facing each other, and a bar stool with table, is what that is. The shop is clean, places to go get food/snack nearby, on the B46 route. ---- My reason for stopping in: Was on the NJ Turnpike, heard a sound like a distant helicopter propeller under my car...didn't like that at all. Stopped in PepBoys because it was near my parents. Issue was spotted on initial inspection but Raymond hopped to listen while we drove around the block; he heard it. Turns out my brake pads were worn completely down. Even found out a prior tech must have screwed the nuts on my wheel in too hard, stripping the threading on two. I scheduled an appointment at 9am and was the first vehicle to be serviced. I was just getting the tires replaced and an alignment. I was told it should take 2 hours. I called to check on the status and told that they had to pick up the tires from another store and it will be ready in 2 hours. After calling back After 2pm to check the status, I was told that they had a busy day and was short staffed and had other vehicles they were working on and my car was being worked on now and will be ready in an hour. I decided to go back to the store and arrived at 4pm. My car was on the lift and not being worked on. The employees were working on other people's cars that arrived after I got there. I questioned one employee why my car was just sitting there since 9am and now it's past 4pm. He started to double talk and lie to me that they picking up another tire from another location on 4th Ave and it should arrive in 20 mins. This employee started to become upset after I questioned why it taking nearly 8 hours to get tires on my car. He gave me so many excuses. On top of that lie about picking up the tires. Since I got there they already had the tires. I Started to become upset myself because he lied and because he kept cutting me off before I finished a sentence. I explained to him that I wasn't here to argue with him and why he's trying to be argumentative with me. I just kept quiet and had nothing else to say to him since he lied to me and just dealt with corporate. They have bad customer service and unprofessional. I never received an apology on the spot. Came here because I refuse to go back to the one on 4th ave that is full of rude and painfully a waste of space individuals that work there and the supervisor there condones in this lazy work from the workers. (Dated back in July 2017) This Pepboys is completely opposite of the other place and the gentleman in the front takes care of his customers. And he checks in to tell you the status of your car. Literally, the man walked into the waiting room and asked everyone which car was theirs and told them the status of the car. Honestly, all went smooth! And once again avoid Pepboys on 4th ave in Brooklyn by all means necessary and just come to this Pepboys instead if you want quality work, and workers who actually take their job serious.
