Booking the services was quick and easy with a phone call, and they were able to come out same day. Don arrived first to address my plumbing issue, and quickly & efficiently replaced a leaking hose bib after giving me a quote. He also took a look and quoted some other issues that I'll consider for a later time. Overall he was in & out in less than 30 minutes. John showed up after to take a look at my leaking AC unit. He quickly found the problem and cleared the clogged drain line, explaining throughout what had caused the problem and steps I might want to take to avoid future problems. He flushed plenty of water through to determine everything was functioning 100% again. He was extremely thorough and pleasant to talk to. I will 100% use Local Roots again for AC & Plumbing needs, and will likely sign up for their VIP Service Plan which seems to cover quite a lot for $200/year

After having a disappointing experience with another AC and plumbing company, I decided to give…read moreLocal Roots AC & Plumbing a try. They had already impressed me when they came out to evaluate my AC and confirmed that the issues I had been told about simply weren't there. That experience alone earned my trust, so when I decided it was time to replace my water heater, Local Roots was the company I called. Matthew C was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He arrived on time, was professional and efficient, and took the time to explain what he was doing and answer my questions. He was also incredibly patient and even let me lend a hand a little, which I appreciated. He showed me a couple of things I didn't know, and when we needed to move some furniture to get the new water heater through the kitchen, he went above and beyond to help. I really want to take a moment to recognize Matthew for the outstanding service he provided. He represents exactly the kind of person you hope to get when you invite someone into your home to do important work. I also want to say this to anyone reading this review: don't be afraid to get a second opinion when something doesn't seem right. My experience with my previous company left me questioning what I was being told, and Local Roots proved to me that there are still honest, professional people who genuinely care about earning your business. Thank you, Matthew, and thank you, Local Roots. You've earned my trust and my business, and I will absolutely recommend you to others.

I had no missed calls the other the other number that he had was my recently passed wife, but there was no reason for me to call that number. You had my contact number and he never called it so we had to call the office to get the to tell the guy to bring his butt back here. Mind you we're standing in the kitchen, watching this guy who said he came up and knock the door was full of it cause I have a green camera ring did not go off. There's no video of him showing up to the damn door. He never got out of the truck fortunately he did fix the problem, but this is example of their customer service cause they're not supervised properly .

Holdyn was prompt and courteous and did the job in half the quoted time. Although over half a…read moregrand to change a valve seemed excessive to me, I agreed thinking that was the necessary cost for the quoted 3-hour job. My issue was that at no time (until I got the invoice AFTER the fact) was I informed that more than HALF of the cost was to extend the pipe which 1st Choice decided I need but which I never explicitly asked for (while it was far off in the back of the closet I was still able to access the old gate valve which is much less convenient as it requires many, many turns for like a minute just to turn on and off, whereas a 1/4-turn ball valve is just one short turn). If I knew I was paying MORE THAN DOUBLE for that added convenience -- that also entailed more drywall cutting and a huge hole that they will not re-patch -- for something I rarely touch I would have declined and paid less than half the cost just for the valve change I asked for. Why was I deliberately not shown an itemized invoice or told all this until AFTER I paid? This seems even more suspect considering that their customary free onsite quote DID generate an emailed advanced estimate broken down by two line items ($0.00 for each), but not the actual job itself. Seems I was deliberately uninformed and quoted about double the money and time that was actually needed as a clever upsell and only provided the line item breakdown after I paid, showing two separate services, with the only one I requested less than half the cost. While I had no complaint with the quality of Holdyn's work, it appears that it was more than just an innocent coincidence that the optionality and separate cost of this additional line item procedure that was neither required nor requested -- AND which necessitated a large hole be cut and left in my drywall at more than double the cost -- went somehow undisclosed in both our verbal and written communication. I was later told that that was Holdyn's decision and that each of their technicians sets their own rules when it comes to invoicing and sales. If gambling that you can increase revenue by masking the details up front (since after the fact most customers won't notice or care), then you must also accept that for those who do catch on you accept responsibility, face the consequences and be prepared to refund the amount that was added on surreptitiously. While I understand the incentive for upsells in the service industry -- especially when it comes to larger outfits with a sizable overhead in operating costs which they somehow need to recover -- it is not my preferred way to do business; I prefer less "sales" and more "service". At the very least the cost breakdown and options must be made clear so that the consumer can make an informed decision.

When the AC failed again a week later, I called them back, but they couldn't send anyone until the following day. They confirmed the "white wire" AZ Perfect Comfort had pointed to wasn't even connected to anything. I am relieved I didn't pay AZ Perfect Comfort $240 to "fix" a non-existent problem.
