UPDATE: the owner assertion that "legal proceedings are done" is incorrect. The BAR (Bureau of Automative Repair) is now investigating this case due to my complaint. This case has not been brought in front of a judge so the owner claims that this case is legally done are false. Attached is a police report and my receipt from Mavi Auto Repair Shop. My Car wheel includes the rim detached while I was driving on the freeway, precisely 48 hours after a brakes change at Mavi Auto Repair. Their insurance , Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Company, is refusing to accept liability. The auto repair shop owner, Mala, stated that he personally changed the brakes on my car, initially apologized and said he "will take care of everything." However, now his insurance company is refusing to compensate me, claiming this incident is not the responsibility of Mavi Auto Repair Shop. I'm now without a vehicle and deeply traumatized. The tire crossed the Freeway from the South Bound to the North Bound and struck a brand-new vehicle. My car is a total loss, and there is a possibility that the other vehicle may also be considered a total loss. Remarkably, all three of us narrowly avoided fatal injury. I am now suffering from a sever trauma and I don't have a Car. I hold Mavi Auto Repair Shop accountable for the negligence that led to my car tire falling off and the traumatic accident as a result. They removed the tire to change the brakes. Tire fell off 48 hours later. I consider the tire falling off my car 48 hours after a brake change at Mavi Auto Repair Shop the mechanic's fault, and there are several reasons why:
* Improper Installation: The most straightforward reason is the improper reinstallation of the tire after the brake service. If the lug nuts that secure the tire to the wheel hub are not tightened to the correct torque specifications, they can loosen over time, leading to the risk of the tire detaching from the vehicle. This is a critical step that must be performed accurately to ensure vehicle safety.
* Incorrect Parts: If any parts related to the tire's attachment to the car, such as lug nuts or bolts, were replaced with incorrect sizes or types for your vehicle, this could compromise the tire's security. Similarly, using damaged or worn-out parts without replacing them could lead to failure.
* Damage During Service: During the brake service, parts of the vehicle's wheel assembly or the brake assembly itself might have been accidentally damaged or improperly reassembled. For example, damage to the wheel hub, wheel bearings, or brake caliper mounts could potentially lead to a situation where the tire could come off.
* Neglecting Signs of Potential Failure: A responsible mechanic should inspect related components for wear or damage when performing any service. Failure to identify and communicate about worn wheel bearings, damaged suspension components, or other critical issues could lead to unsafe driving conditions.
* Lack of Quality Control: Many reputable auto repair shops have quality control procedures to double-check the work done, especially on critical safety components like brakes and wheel assemblies. If such procedures were neglected or improperly executed, it could result in oversight of mistakes made during the brake change.
Each of these scenarios points towards the mechanic and the auto repair shop fault. It's crucial for automotive service professionals to follow strict procedures and standards to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicles they service. When these standards are not met, it can lead to dangerous situations such as a tire detaching from a moving vehicle resulting in accidents.
