Not long ago I decided I was through using my car brand dealership for repairs. When I was growing up, my dad repaired nearly everything on our cars and the few things he needed help with, he turned to Rosedale Automotive, so I decided to give them a try. My engine light was on and that seemed a good reason to ask for help. I was able to make an appointment the following day and all was taken care of within 3 days and a lot of good/clear communication. I'm never certain about what constitutes good value. Car repairs cost money, but everything charged was clearly communicated and I appreciate their expertise. My car runs well and they took time to explain what was going on and what I could expect for the future of the car and gave advice of proper future care. On May 2nd we called the location on white lane about our change the oil light lit up last week to change our oil. We just did our regular oil change with synthetic oil in February which didn't make sense because synthetic oil last for 5000 miles. We have been going to this location about 5 years since we moved to Bakersfield and we never had the change oil light come back on after we did our oil change 2 months ago. When we talked to the store manager, he pulled up a search on Google to show my husband that Chevy trucks change oil light lite up every 3000 miles. Well if they use synthetic oil it suppose to last 5000 miles. When we did get the oil change in February they also stated we had an oil leak. We went to Rosedale Auto shop and they did our oil change way cheaper and they didn't see any oil leak. They have been working on our truck when we do need repair also the mechanic that works on your vehicle shows you what they will be doing to your vehicle. Very professional n great customer services. It was a blessing that the change oil light lite up which changed where we get our oil change from now on. read more

I took my truck to Rosedale Automotive to get the trailer brake service warning fixed, the wiper sprayer's fixed, and the oil changed. They didn't have any luck with the trailer brake service warning, but they did the other two items. When I picked up my truck the last time they gave me a refund check in an envelope that I assumed would be the total that I paid them the first time minus the washer repair and the oil change. I went to Yelp to search for a place to find somewhere close to our house for a smog check. To our surprise our diesel truck needed a smog certificate. This was our 2nd year paying the astronomical California fees to renew the tags and then a smog for diesel, boy it never ends. Anyway this had a great review, but also came up as two different businesses. But both with 5*. I called to see if they did such a service and the gal on the phone Julie, which I think is always a nice touch when someone who answers the phone identifies themselves, was so friendly said they did do this quoted me a price and said they could get us right in. I asked exactly where they were located and easy enough. I actually was having a bad day finding out I had to mail all this stuff instead of doing any of this online, because of having a 1 ton there's a box you have to update about your weight. Really you can't check a box online how inconvenient!! So going here was so convenient. Upon arriving it looked really busy and we thought oh no we'll be here forever. As we were walking into the office the mechanics outside even greeted us. Once in the office we were quickly helped and Julie at the desk is very friendly and personable. The whole test took maybe 30 minutes which was painless as I said their lot look really busy and we thought it would take forever. But no in and out. Very great service and we passed our test. This place is very professional in how they work and take care of your vehicles. I have a 1957 pickup that I thought failed a brake pressure switch. After trying several days of getting it out I was unable to do it. I tired heating it up and everything else in between. It needed to be put on a lift so I called Rosedale automotive. They were able to get me scheduled asap and I brought it over for the repair. About a hour later they called me to say it was not the pressure switch but a broken wire instead. They could have charged me way more and never told me about the wire but instead they said they found the problem that was much more simpler and charged me only 1 hour shop rate. Their honesty and integrity speaks volumes in this situation for me. I never and rarely have a shop work on anything for me as I'm pretty capable for the most part, but when and if I do, Rosedale automotive will be my place I take my vehicles when needed. Their service is top notch and their honesty and integrity is exactly what you need in a car shop especially when you need to get back on the road but have no idea how that happens. I took my car in here because it was squealing pretty bad. I was prepared for the worst (needing rack and pinion replacement) but hoping for the best (tightening of belts that I was told by a different place that wasn't the issue). I don't remember what they told me it was but it wasn't good. When they were done it ended up being considerably more minor and cost a fraction of what it could have. I was impressed by their honesty. My Sedona has been overheating and I had someone tell me again to go Rosedale Automotive. They thought that they figured it out and sent me on my way (at a reasonable price). It worked for about a day and a half then overheated again. When I took it back they found something else.
