I've only been once, but already believe this is like the perfect little Southern-style breakfast spot. The menu is filled with scratch-made Southern fare as well as cocktails, craft beer, coffee, and specialty lattes courtesy of Mel's Morning Surge. The restaurant also has a jam bar which features 4 different scratch-made jams: blueberry lavender, strawberry basil, red pepper, ginger peach and butters: maple, regular, sweet potato, and pecan. I wasn't able to try these on my first visit, but will most definitely try these on my second. The staff made a good impression, too. They were pleasant, knowledgeable about their menu items and welcoming. The items I tried that were instant faves: THE HANGOVER - Buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, scrambled eggs, candied jalapeños, topped with homemade gravy. BANANA PECAN PANCAKES - 3 pancakes, bananas, candied pecans, cream cheese frosting, caramel syrup, pecan butter. Ordered a giant biscuit topped with an over easy egg, bacon, gravy and even a piece of fried chicken, it was all pretty good. It was massive too, could easily split with someone as it was on the heavier side. The bacon was thick cut and really good quality, the gravy was great and the pickled jalapeños were a great addition for a little spice but mainly sweet kick. Overall a tad pricey and not a huge menu. But they do use quality ingredients, offer mimosas and have a nice chill atmosphere and even a patio out front if you prefer a spot with outdoor seating. I just wanna start by saying I drove past this little shop and decided to stop in and when I say that the ambience and service was absolutely amazing along with everything that was on the menu. I wish that I could've tried it. All the cashier was very helpful and insightful when it came to what I wanted it or actually what I needed. I expected country gravy, but their gravy was kind of a thin, yellowish gravy that almost looked like cheese. It wasn't bad, just not what most places serve. My biggest problem was that there was a large chunk of bone in my omelette and I couldn't eat anything after biting down on that. The morning after my birthday saw me in....not my finest of forms. My wife, who made my birthday this year an awesome one, wanted to try Maverick Biscuit, which is not far from our house. I rightly assumed this was what my hungover body needed, and was not disappointed. The restaurant itself is inside what looks like was a fast food joint at some point in the past. There's a spacious patio out front, with a lot of shade, as well as a dining room. The staff was very friendly and the service is prompt. They also offer a full bar, although yesterday morning I wanted no part of that haha. Kat ordered a biscuit with spicy gravy, fried chicken breast & eggs and bacon, topped with candied jalapeños. Mine was the same, but with shaved rib meat, bell peppers and hollandaise. The portions were large and price point for most of the biscuits runs between $11-15. Unlike a lot of these specialty biscuit restaurants, we were in and out relatively quickly. I can honestly say I really liked this place and will be coming back again many times. The only thing I can say that isn't great about it is that the inside dining room could be spruced up a bit more to give it a better atmosphere. The cat-head size biscuits are A+ grandmother quality and the the creative options for enjoying them will leave you wanting to come back soon. Went here for lunch and they did not disappoint. Just FYI they close at 2pm every weekday and 3pm on weekends. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and it's all spacious. I think her name was Alyssa or something similar and she was super nice. I ordered the Maverick Shrimp and grits and my gf ordered the Nash. Both were awesome and great choices. I had 4 good sized shrimps and lots of andouille sausages and the sauce was creamy and rich. Upon finishing my meal I found another hidden shrimp which delighted me bc 5 semi large shrimp was better than what I was expecting coming into the restaurant. Another delight that I enjoyed was it wasn't the traditional grits style. They made a grit cake, which sat together nicely between the buttermilk biscuit and shrimps. The Nash probably was our favorite. It had a good spice level and the biscuit had jalapeños in it which was awesome. They had a jam bar with many unique jams so those are worth a try as well. It comes with extra jalapeños on the side and pickles too. We were both full at the end. All in all I would def recommend this place if u like biscuits. It's well made, homemade and different than some of the other biscuit joints here in Greenville. We had a great experience with our hostess/server and the food hit our spots. Tried this place out on the recommendation of a friend. I was assured by the sweet young lady at the register that they have the best biscuits in the world. Yup, I'd have to agree with that!
