They have identical restaurant layout, design, trays and plating. But this one is definitely way better than the one on the Coast. Food quality was better but selections are somewhat smaller. Pretty much everything was the same, except the desserts. The desserts that they had the night we showed up was all festive desserts. I mean nothing wrong with that. We were hoping there would be fancier desserts. Like the nutella cake they have down at the coast or jello and etc. We came on a Saturday night and they had the Prime Rib night. Best of all from now till end of December 30, its 2 for 1 (ok, I know what you are thinking. On the coast it's always 2 for 1 as well. Yes, same promo.) So, it worked out the buffet to be around $11 per person. The slow braised roast ribs were delicious. It was definitely my favorite. B's favorite was the pop machine. Yes his favorite the unlimited flavor pop machine. It was the same identical they have at the other buffet. Guess what they also have the soft serve ice cream machine but this one was very clean. The server was super friendly. Wow she works really hard. She is a one woman team. She rings people in, get people seated and also the person who clears the plates and takes the plates to the back. Wow that was impressive. Best of all she still has a big smile on her face. The buffet area is somewhat smaller than the one at the coast. But even at 6 or 7 pm, it was still not a full house. I highly recommend trying this Buffet. I am surprised that I will be the first to Yelp about it again. I guess this Buffet went unnoticed for a long time.

I had never been to this restaurant before and had no idea what to expect other than they would have Chinese food, and it would be a buffet. Turns out, Asian Pear has Chinese, Japanese and Western buffet food. We walked in and were seated promptly to an open table, though I did find out later they did reservations, at least for large groups. Drinks are separate from the buffet food price (the food price was reasonable). My husband ordered a beer and was less than impressed with the size; they gave him a can of beer for the price of a pub pint. I didn't have the heart to tell him that Asian establishments are probably not known for delivering on great value for alcoholic beverages. I was impressed with almost everything else at the buffet. The plates were on the smaller side, but it didn't matter because I could simply get seconds and thirds. The staff are great at clearing your plates quickly. They had a good selection of Chinese, Western and Japanese (sushi) food. I was impressed by the selection for Chinese foods; I saw Sweet and Sour soup, lots of fried rice and noodles and even coconut buns in the dessert section! I liked most of the stuff I tried, expect for the custard dessert they had...it tasted cough syrup sweet. My only caution is to not order the canned alcoholic drinks... you'd probably get more bang for your buck if you went to a pub after the buffet. I think this is a great place in Kelowna if you are looking to satisfy your Chinese/Japanese cravings and if you are into buffet portions. Staff are efficient and friendly. Staff are a bit stretched out, but they did the best they could. The staff that served my buddy and me spoke Chinese instead of Japanese, but oh well. Good enough. The selection here is unusually large and beautiful, even by Vancouver standards. Special mention. There are many sashimi options (with no limit), and dozens of types of rolls and nigiri and cones. Then there are the cooked and BBQ items, as well as dim sum. See photos. They speak for themselves. Everything tasted fresh. Buddy and I were ready to explode by the time we left. Just thinking about the food I had that day makes me want to lie down. Highly recommended if one is in the area.
