Bill is completing projects we need done before we sell our home. His attention to detail, workmanship, and determination are exemplary. He can do it all! From rebuilding a ceiling fan that dropped from the ceiling, fixing our outdoor gas grill, finding old parts to match existing. He is a talented painter as well. We highly recommend Maurer Construction. read more

Bill is the real deal! He tackled a bunch of odd jobs at my place--upgraded some tricky lighting, installed a brand new sink, and even got my stubborn ceiling fan working again. Everything was done quickly, done right, and with zero hassle on my end. It's rare these days to find someone as reliable, detail-oriented, and professional as Bill. If you're needing any handyman work--big or small--don't hesitate. Take advantage of Bill's skills. You'll be glad you did! read more

I found Bill to be be dishonest about anything he could get away with...be aware and don't be fooled. Seniors should especially stay away because he likes to demand over payments and yell in your face to try and get them. He lies and tries to cheat whenever he can. read more

Bill was incredible: he was able to make time to handle a time-sensitive batch of repairs, had great advice for other future improvements, charged reasonably, and was fun to talk to. Highly recommend. read more

My kitchen was totally remodeled by Bill Maurer. I am more than satisfied--everything was PERFECT. If I could give him a hundred stars, I definitely would. Bill and I spent plenty of time discussing everything I wanted (and everything I didn't want) and then worked on the design, including exact measurements and all materials. He had several good suggestions which saved me money without sacrificing any efficiency or my "look". And The price he quoted was extremely reasonable, and that's the total I spent. Mostly, Bill worked alone--tho his brother Mike, a true artisan, designed and built my gorgeous cabinets. Bill is meticulous--he'll never settle for "good enough". Handling every detail himself makes the project take a little longer--but he's worth it; so much better than a slapdash crew causing a hurricane in my house. He is extremely reliable, and during the whole project, I was able to stay comfortably in my house (and wash dishes in the laundry room.) The project happened during the pandemic--getting the right materials caused a few short delays, and some increase in prices. Bill NEVER asked me to make up the difference. I'm not the first to write this, but I concur--Bill is honest and very ethical. He was a breath of fresh air; unlike many (most?) trades, sales, and service people he was very respectful of me as a single woman client. I admit I had some unusual (well, actually weird, requests), and he never rolled his eyes at me--not once. After he finished my "designer" kitchen, I had only one problem--the kitchen is such a star, now the entire house needs to be remodeled! I am totally satisfied and happy with all his work--not a single detail was overlooked. I highly recommend him--if you just talk to him, you'll see immediately that this is the guy you want. It will probably take a while, as I will go room-by-room--but I will have Bill make the rest of my house look as good as my kitchen. read more

Bill did an excellent job with both our bathrooms and hallway cabinet! It really turned out to be great! He always makes sure his work is top notch. He takes the time to get it done right! The bathrooms took a bit of time to do but time was no matter to me. The end result was WORTH IT! I am almost positive that our future construction needs will be consulted by Bill. I travel A LOT for work. We left him a key to the house and he was very professional, honest, and hardworking. Those relationships are quite hard to find and I'm sure we will be keeping him. If you want it done right go with Bill! Top quality! read more

Bill Maurer just finished another great remodeling job for us. We didn't think he could match the work he did in our master bathroom last year, but our second bathroom, with a jacuzzi , new plumbing, new travertine floors , decorative tiled walls and new wood cabinets, looks just as beautiful! Bill is a perfectionist. Every joint, seam, grout line and fixture installation is flawless. He managed to level out an offset wall so the tile is completely straight. He also put supports under our laundry room floor so our spin cycles don't shake the house - for the first time in 30 years. My husband and I can't speak highly enough of Bill for his remodeling work. Laura Hammes read more

Bill did a fantastic job remodeling my parents' bathroom. He was professional, kept to the time line, and had reasonable prices. He's one of the friendliest contractors the family has dealt with. Thanks Bill! read more

I called Maurer Construction because I had an issue with my balcony on one of my investment properties. I had dry rot in two major areas and had a guest put his foot through the floor of the balcony. Bill came out that same day for an estimate and did a thorough inspection of the area. He pointed out where all of the cracks were in the floor (looked like peeling paint) and explained to me that this is how the water has been getting in. He educated me on the importance of maintaining the area as far as sealants. He also pointed out other areas of concern that truly needs to be addressed as far as drainage and current codes. He was very caring, empathetic and informative. He was able to get me a written quote within 48 hours. Not to mention he called me the evening of our meeting to give me another less costly option to my dilemma. This demonstrates to me that Maurer Construction is always thinking of their customer. I am definitely a fan of Bill and will most likely use his services. He so kindly covered the unsafe areas of the balcony by nailing in some plywood for me (he left to get the materials and then came back to help me out) because he did not want the area left unsafe knowing that guests were coming the following day. He did this without me even signing him for the job. I wanted to review this company because they truly deserve recognition for great customer service and knowledge. Bill knows what he's doing. The only reason I did not give Maurer Construction 5 stars is because I haven't started the repairs and am still awaiting a 2nd estimate for the work. I will most likely use Maurer Construction to replace the floor of my balcony. read more

Bill's portion of the bathroom is finished so I will give an update on my previous comments. Everything that he was contracted to do, was done on time, the right way, with the correct products. I think his work is exceptional, he is such a detail guy, that nothing is missed or less than what he promised. He came to our house everyday with a smile, never failed to be pleasant, answered questions, updated us on progress, explained the what and whys of everything. I am so glad that I found a general contractor that I can honestly recommend to my friends and know that they will not be taken advantage of. He is a Home Inspector as well, so If I ever purchase another property in San Diego, there is no way anyone but Bill Maurer will be doing that inspection. I will tell all of my friends that are thinking about buying a home as well.. read more

I really recommend Bill, he knows what is he doing, very professional. His Job is amazing with reasonable price and look in a small details, even we have tight budget!!! We first hired another contractor to remodeling and expanding our restaurant, and they were a nightmare. Bill came in and fixed all there mistakes and finished the job. I don't want anyone get a bad experience, wasting time and money with bad people like i did. If you got a chance to hire Bill do it with out hesitating because GOOD contractors are are either hard to find or always busy. I previously hired these guys for my rental, then I purchased a home that needed a lot of work, so I called them back. Bill installed the bathroom plumbing ( tub and mixer valve toilets, sinks) and added ground wiring to the whole house and he re-wired the kitchen and installed new can lights. The price was awesome and they did an amazing job!!!!!! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Maurer Construction on an extensive Kitchen remodel in Carmel Mountain. Business owner Bill Maurer turned out to be an excellent communicator, superb in executing the given task of coordinating the different trades and keeping everything on schedule and given Budget! From the get-go, Bill displayed knowledge that only a company can have that has been in business as long as his. His priority was to give my client the best of the best within a tied budget without compromising quality and looks. He was hands-on in making sure every single detail was perfect, the client was thrilled with his presence at all the important stages of the project. He made it a point to keep the areas neat and clean and gave the client a functional working and cooking space for the entire project. I look forward to working with Maurer Construction on my next project. All around a pleasant and great experience! Angela Design by Angela read more

We hired Maurer Construction to do some work on the home that we recently purchased. There were several different things that we wanted to have done to the house and they were able to complete all of them before we moved in. We were extremely happy with the work done and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to do an addition or remodel of their homes. They were extremely professional and did great quality work. We will definitely be hiring them again! read more

I spoke with Bill and he was more than willing to discuss my project at length and give me a quote/bid in a quick and timely manner. I am very excited to meet with him and discuss our project further. Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to take a look at my project . read more

Bill is a great communicator. He not only was the first contractor to get us a bid and respond to us, he consistently followed up via text, email and phone to ensure that we got what we needed. That was especially amazing since some other contractors wouldn't even call us back!! We decided to actually sell the house instead of remodel so in the end didn't move forward with Bill, but I was so impressed with his follow-through. I would definitely want to work with him in the future. read more

I have hired Bill a few times to do projects both big and small for my house and he always does a 5-start job. He completely remodeled my kitchen (among many other projects he has done) and it is without a doubt the best thing about my house. He is reliable, fairly priced, thorough, professional and he is able to do pretty much anything and everything - from complete remodels to smaller improvements or fix-its. The best thing about him is that he takes great pride in his work and does not cut corners on the details. I highly recommend him! read more

Bill Maurer and Maurer Construction was great! I've heard so many nightmares on kitchen remodels, but that wasn't the case with Maurer Construction. I got my beautiful, forever kitchen with custom cabinets, marble countertops, and new floor plan. He was able to complete the remodel within the time given and fixed multiple safety and fire issues that were hidden behind walls and floors. I will hire Maurer Construction again and recommend them for as a honest, professional contractor. read more

I never got the quote I was promised. We were looking to have a deck added to our house, and after reviewing yelp, I called Welby Construction Management and Maurer Construction, Inc. Both guys came out to the hosue within a week to take a look so we could get a quote. After looking and doing drawings for about half an hour, I was told that I should have a quote in about a week. That was the last I heard from either of them. Business must be really good after a couple of nice reviews. read more

I bought a Condo in 2011 and it had a nice complicated Rolling Steel Door Garage. Unfortunately, I needed it be repaired and could find no one in San Diego to assist. I was lucky and found Maurer Contruction. He has provided excellent service and I would recommend him to anyone. read more

It's the contracting business.....where do u start? For me, its like finding a car sales man or plumber...... you have to naturally, be skeptical! After taking over my mother's Estate, I did a search engine on contractors in San Diego. Then, I reviewed the website directly. I called and was strict about my apprehension, but this was no problem for Bill, he actually welcomed it, and proved that he deserved my trust, through his accountability, credibility, results and communication throughout out the project. He constantly re-instilled my trust, comfort, and respect. I am Happy with his customer service skills and Contractor business. I love my upgraded and additional outlets. Now, that I know he knows me, and how I handle business and how to work with me, I feel confident and trusting in our business acquaintance. I look forward to Bill installing my gas conversion stove, and security cameras, outdoor flood lighting. and wood flooring . . . More project to come! read more

I'm a repeat customer. Maurer Construction has done two remodeling projects for us in the past, but this time we hired them to remove a large carport/trees that were threatening the foundation of our house. The project was extremely short notice, but they did a great job, again, and we couldn't be happier with the care that was taken on our projects. read more

The best complement/review a company can receive is if it was recommended to friends, family and neighbors! Which I did even before the job was completed! I put my complete trust in future projects with Maurer Construction and when I recommend them to others!! read more

We moved into our new home on a Monday and suffered major water damage on Thursday. It was the week before Christmas and we couldn't find any general contractors who could meet us (at our unlivable home) and quote the repair job. I found Bill's company, through Yelp, after calling several others. Although Bill could not meet with me, he took the time and went the extra mile, asking for pictures of the water damaged areas of our home. He spent considerable time, with someone he had never met before, to help me understand the scope of work that needed to be done. Also, most impressively, he was able to determine where the source of the problem had come from (just from the pictures and a few questions). Although he was not able to meet with me, he gave me the name & number of someone he trusted for the work. That company/individual called me the next day, and although he was also extremely busy, is scheduled to meet me this morning (basically 24 hours after Bill contacted him on our behalf). I was so thankful for his help, and that he took the time to make my household problems a priority -- this goes way above and beyond the norm. read more
