It's all made from scratch, and that's why this place totally deserves 5 stars. It's a one-person show here, so be patient when you order. It's totally worth the wait, the taste, and the portion size. You can really tell the difference between homemade and the processed stuff at chain restaurants. The prices are a little high, but the taste makes it worth it.
The building had good vibes. Parking was a bit hard because there were cars blocking the one of the ramps to enter the parking lot so I had to go in a circle to get to the other side to enter the parking lot. The service was nice and kind. I just had to wait for my ube shake for a long while. I wish they would've told me the shake would've been so long of a wait because I would've just got a fountain drink with my meal. So heads up, if you were thinking to get a shake to drink while eating your meal, maybe you should get a fountain drink too while you wait for the shake. The shake was really good though! I also got the two meat plate with pork & chicken. I thought it was pretty good.
Mom and pop style restaurant. Small and decorated. I've never been to Hawaii, so I can't speak on the authenticity. But, the food was amazing. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the pork was flavorful. The Mac was overly flavorful but I feel like it added a nice balance to the seasoned meats. Will definitely come back and highly recommend. The two meat plate was enough to feed 2 people. * I also got a donut not photographed, but it was great as well.
At first it was a bit difficult to get parking, but once we did, it was a breeze to find! There is an outdoor seating area and an inside seating area with about 9 tables. The lady who took our order was helpful and sweet. The food was incredibly delicious (so good that I forgot to take a picture right when we got it). We got a plate with shrimp, teriyaki chicken, double mac salad and white rice. The shrimp tasted fresh and the seasoning was great. The teriyaki chicken was also really delicious especially when we mixed the sauce with siracha! Overall, this was one of my favorite places i've been to and I'll be sure to make my way back!

So I decided to join in As I was ordering up, a SAPD Officer came in to pickup some food & I took care of his TOGO bill for him Gotta support Our Blue This Big Daddy Sandwich was Delicious with Pulled Pork & Toppings on Fresh Bread Yummy The French Fries we're just Okay Some of them weren't cooked thoroughly through But the Sandwich & Service plus Atmosphere made up for this mishap. The next time that I come, I'll ask to have Fries Crispy or maybe have another side dish One Suggestion that I have is to play some Hawaiian Reggae Music while dining outside

The rice also needs some sauce to elevate the dish, and the mac is fine on its own. The spam musubi is served warm, a lot of rice to spam ratio on this version of it! Super simple and plain, wish it also had a sauce to accompany it! Overall a cool spot!

From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel like ohana -- incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and more than happy to walk me through the menu. If you're new to Hawaiian cuisine, this is exactly the kind of place that'll guide you without overwhelming you. I kicked things off with the teriyaki musubi, and let me tell you -- one bite and I was instantly transported back to the islands. The rice was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was expertly seasoned, and the pork paired with the sweet chili sauce was the ideal balance of savory and sweet. Absolute harmony on a plate. But the real standout? The mac salad. Creamy, cool, and impossibly comforting -- it's the kind of side that steals the show. My only regret? Not discovering this spot sooner... and not trying the ube milkshake (yet). Plenty of outdoor seating if you want to soak up the sun, or cool indoor tables with crisp A/C if the Texas heat gets too real. Authentic flavors, genuine hospitality -- highly recommend.
What a surprise find! We found this on Yelp so we have to get the word out! kinda off the beaten path but adequate free parking, a few tables inside and 8-9 tables outside. it's an older building but they've done a nice job making it cute. The server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. It's an order at the counter establishment. Our order arrived timely for freshly prepared food and was pleasantly presented. Now to the food!!! Brah! this was the best Hawaiian food i've had since living the islands! the Kalua Pig is smoky and tender , the teriyaki chicken is tangy and the perfect level of texture. the Hawaiian fried chicken is amazing! all the requirements! three meats two scoops of white rice and mac salad! perfect :) Mahalo

No A/C. Primitive facilities. Awkward parking. Dynamite food. Even if you are BIG, it will fill you. The smallest burger brings shame to fast food chains. The Musubi absolutely slaps. Real fried rice, and the Fish and chips made me cry for England. (wee bit salty TBH). There will be updates.
The food and service here was amazing! They have a food truck and a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The ladies working there were super nice and helpful. The food was delicious and very generous portions. This is the best Hawaiian food I have had in San Antonio! I definitely recommend the fried chicken and macaroni salad.
Excellent new Hawaiian restaurant near downtown San Antonio. The Tiki style restaurant features a Hawaiian themed patio, luau music, and a small indoor seating area. The restaurant and staff is very welcoming. Their menu offers great cornerstone Hawaii bites for a fair price! I was happy to try this restaurant while visiting home from LA. My grandma and girlfriend accompanied me and came by around Friday at 8PM. There was plenty seating and a short wait time for our entrees to come out. The amount of food for the price is generous and the quality of plate was amazing. Their shrimp and chicken were very good. And the Mac salad was fair. The sauce brought the plate together and was a hit for my Hawaiian craving. The Food was a solid 4.5/5 and the Ube shake was good but could have had stronger Ube flavor. Their ambiance, serving sizes, and service was the real winner and made me happy to try this spot. I'd definitely consider coming back on more trips to SA
Maui's on Main was recommend to me. We went for lunch and ordered one meat plates. I had the teriyaki chicken & hubby had the kalua pork. Both plates had very large portions. We ate about half before we took the plates home. The meats were very tender and we enjoyed both of them. The rice and macaroni sides were very plain. He put the teriyaki sauce over the rice to give it some flavor. We were the only ones there so we chose a table and waited about 10 mins for our food. The place is very clean and looks right out to the neighboring businesses. The total for our order was $43 including 2 Hawaiian flavored juice cans. As we finished the meats, we discovered a bed of rice under both meats. I think if they served a plate with smaller portions and much less rice they could have a lower priced plate. OR next time order one plate for two people to eat. Overall tasty meats is my impression.
It's a 10 out of 10 every time we eat here! The food IS Hawaiian food, authentic, savory, filling! Service stays on top of everything, food is fresh and hot and served quickly. Indoor and outdoor seating areas adds to the experience! read more

Fountain drinks weren't available. canned sodas were two dollars and the shakes were minimum of $6.95. However, they did have the Baja blast in a can. I recommend the ali i bowl it had rice, vegetables, Mac and protein. Order at the counter. They provide a numbered flag for your table. Good service. Nice patio. read more

We read the reviews and we had mixed thought but we had very high hopes! We saw they got very busy and that they had a way to order ahead so, we did just that! We ordered our food and pick a time of 11AM for a Saturday. We arrived around 10:55am that Saturday and sat in the eating area, we were greeted by the young lady working behind the counter and also by the owner who came an talked to us and gave us both a fist bump! 11AM on the dot our food came in we grabbed our drinks and a mochi cake (extra)! We decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful morning. So we began to dig in! Right away my wife noticed the order was wrong with our 3 meat plate... they gave us teriyaki chicken ILO teriyaki beef but she was hungry and didn't want to wait for new food. The chicken was pretty dry and she did not enjoy it, The shrimp were delicious no complaints there and the Kalua Pork was just missing flavor but sriracha always helps! The mac salad was very tasty and the fried rice yummy! The 2nd thing we got was a burger and with all the toppings it was really tasty but the burger it self plain. Highlight of the burger was the bun, soft, sweet and just perfect. The fries were cooked well and had a good seasoning! That seasoning should have been used on the burger!! We also order a Loko Moco! One of my favorite Hawaiian dishes! It was cooked well, eggs runny and lots of gravy but again no flavor.... The mochi cake was pretty good, slightly sweet and chewy like it should be. All in all it was a good experience but the food was lacking flavor as others have also said... Maui's is about 35 minutes from home so, I don't see us travelling all the way back for Hawaiian food. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out since we both saw it on TikTok and it did not disappoint. The service was awesome and the owner even came out to welcome and thank us for checking them out. Very cute spot has indoor and outdoor seating. I'd recommend 10/10 checking out. read more

Yummm brings me back to my days in Oahu and Maui. This is authentic, delicious Hawaiian food from their rice plates to their poke! Their poke is just like how they prepare it in Hawaii. Their portions are good. The only improvement I would like to see are more indoor space, (a bit tight in there) and perhaps more staff since service was slower due to short staff. read more
I got the "rice bowl." This comes with spam fried rice, veggies, and your choice of meat. I chose the garlic shrimp, of course. The shrimp were big, yummy, and cooked well. They definitely could have been more garlicky though. The spam fried rice was yummy. The components all came together well when I drizzled the sauce on top. read more
Best Hawaiian food in San Antonio! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. Usually, Hawaiian food places put rice in the dish as tasteless filler. Here at Maui on Main, wonderful spices are noticeable in every bite. My family and I are already talking about what we want to order on our next visit. I believe Maui on Main will become one of our few regular eateries. read more

Decided to try out this place with friends today. This is a small place with even less parking. The lines are long, and the food took a while to get after ordering. Yet. The wait was worth it. The Mac was amazing ... best in the city. We tried a little of just about every meat .. kahlua pig had a deep flavor and was super juicy. The teriyaki chicken and beef were tender, but strangely, they were mixed on the plate. The garlic shrimp was good but could have had a little more garlic flavor. The katsu chicken was amazing. Tip: Get there early. They do have order ahead online in their own app. read more

Food was ok at best, but it didn't make up for the lack of customer service. The ppl in front of us had excellent customer service. Big smiles, patience, and enthusiasm...we went up next and she just stared at us and acted as if we were bothering her. Also they were out and Kalua pork and only serve Poke on Saturday!? 3.5 stars - I was happy to see that there was a building and seating alongside the food truck. Unfortunately the inside seating was very small and tight and it was too hot out to sit outside (where there was more seating). Plus the building was pretty warm inside. The staff (possibly owners) were super friendly and helpful. I ordered the Kahlua pork bowl, the pork was good but the spam rice did not have as much flavor as I was expecting. My husband ordered the teriyaki chicken and it was way too dry, I could barely swallow it. My son ordered the burger (see photo) and he said it was very good. It was good to see that this place appeared to be a community hotspot, I wish them much success! read more

I spotted this place on IG and made a special trip out here while running errands. Arrived smack in the middle of midweek lunch hour, but managed to find a parking spot in their tiny lot shared with another nearby business. Felt the Hawaiian vibes walking up to their colorful blue building. Now all it needed was a little Hawaiian music in the background. Outdoor covered/ uncovered picnic benches and small table seating indoors were available. Met the owner at the counter while ordering. Nice guy, introduced us to the menu and helped me make my choice. 2 meat plate lunch with Kahlua pig and garlic shrimp- Bomb! the Kahlua pig was tender/juicy, with a slight smoke, and not overly salty. The garlic shrimp was deelish! Jumbo shrimp with outer shell partially intact and soooo much flavor. Not overly doused in garlic. Their mac salad was nice, the sweetness of the mayo helped balance the savory of the proteins. Spam fried rice completed the meal, although I would have preferred white rice. Make sure to mention when ordering, if that's what you prefer. Teriyaki chicken plate lunch- teriyaki chicken breast meat cut up into pieces and sprinkled with sliced green onions. Slightly dry, but lots of flavor. Good food, good portions, and reasonably priced! Spoke a little more with the owner, Maui... that's right his name is Maui and he mentioned they just opened up only 3 months ago! More fun to come with Hawaiian bands on the weekend. The place is tiny but mighty! Service was exemplary, very friendly and apologetic due to wait times being lengthy.. we were willing to wait. My favorite items were the pork and the pasta salad? (Mac and cheese?) I am unsure what it was.. it was served cold but let me tell you.. so good, I am not a fan of pasta salad but this one was so creamy and tasty. My kiddo had their burger, we had ordered plain but they brought us a fully dressed one which they quickly identified and corrected. Didnt dine in, but took out food! Got the plates and the bowls and spam musubi. The servings were generous! Honestly it was a bit salty for me, but the mac blended well with it! My favorites would be the Hawaiian fried chicken and the chicken teriyaki. My husband enjoyed everything! We also got an ube shake, which was worth the 7 bucks! I really wanted to love this place based on all the reviews and even recommendations on another social platforms but this place didn't hit all marks for me and my family. The restaurant has a food truck that does the cooking but you order and eat inside the building next to it. They also have an outdoor area that's nice if the weather is manageable. The poor building's AC was struggling to keep the inside cool because it was so hot outside. It didn't help with so many people coming in and out of the restaurant either. The young gentlemen at the front wasn't the friendliest but he wasn't rude either. He just didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I mentioned this was our first time and he didn't seem to care. Ok, cool no worries I'm still not going to judge. We ordered the following: - Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl - 3 meat plate: Kalua pig, teriyaki beef and Hawaiian fried chicken (comes with macaroni salad, fried spam rice and white rice) - 2 meat plate: Teriyaki beef and Hawaiian fried chicken (comes with macaroni salad, fried spam rice and white rice) - O.G Burger (double Patty) w/fries We waited nearly 30 minutes for someone to say that they ran out of teriyaki beef and will substitute it with another item. Again, no issues, we'll make it work. My husband opted for the Teriyaki chicken and I wanted the garlic shrimp. About another 30 minutes later, we finally received our food. Actually, the entire restaurant (which was full by now) got their food at the same time. Again, we are on island time so it didn't bother us. The Kalua pig was ok, tender but the flavor wasn't out of this world. We've had better in Hawaii. The Teriyaki chicken had a very subtle flavor of teriyaki and the chicken was dry. The Hawaiian fried chicken for my husband was the best part of the meal but for me it was very salty. My husband loves salt and that was the best part of the meal for him. The burger was a little over done for my son's liking. He said it tasted burnt to him but we all agreed the fries were horrendous!. We're not sure how you can mess up French fries! It tasted old, dry, zero salt and almost raw all together. My son loves French fries but as you can tell from the photo he didn't eat them. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until the end of the meal. My daughter had the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and loved the rice. I will say the fried spam rice is very very good! One of the main reasons why this is a three-star. It was so flavorful and incredibly yummy! It has some crispy rice pieces which gave it another texture which was nice. I had the 2 meat plate. As stated above I had the fried chicken and it was too salty for me although my husband liked it so mixed reviews. However, IF you choose to go, you MUST get the garlic shrimp! Everyone at the table said the shrimp was amazing! The only draw back is that it has the shell on and the flavor is on the shell! You had to suck the flavoring out but what was on the shrimp was very good! Another reason for the 3-star. The macaroni salad had zero flavor as well. I think some salt could have gone a long way. The salt they used on the fried chicken could have helped this side dish. The teriyaki sauce was pretty good but dipping the already salty chicken in a typical salty sauce was overkill. The other individuals that worked there were super nice, always asking how we were doing and incredibly sorry for running out of the beef. Would I recommend this place? Yes but only for specific items. I would run here for the shrimp and fried spam rice but that's about it for me! Maybe they had an off day, and that's ok. If we're in the area and are super hungry we don't mind giving them another shot! I'm sure they can be better. read more
This is a small family restaurant. Inside the restaurant is small but they are so welcoming you're instantly comfortable. The food was good! My husband who is a "burger guy" described the burger as top tier. I would have to agree plus the fries were pretty tasty as well. I really enjoyed the Mac salad & garlic shrimp. Teriyaki chicken was good but slightly dry. The Ube shake which is not pictured was really good! Definitely recommend you try. My husband raved about it our entire drive home. read more

Food: So Ono!! My husband got the fish tacos, sauce on it was so good! I got the Loko Moko definitely reminded me of home. My son devoured his spam musubi and vanilla milkshake. Definitely felt the love put into the food. Service: Friendly, typical small island vibe reminded me of the hole in the wall, family owned restaurants on the smaller islands. Ambiance: small, nothing fancy, very casual. Come in your best "rubbah slippahs", shorts, and T-shirt. There are ceiling fans running on the inside, and a nice little patio seating with umbrellas on the outside. Shootz enjoy!! read more

As of this post, Maui's on Main has been opened for only 3-months. It truly has a Hawaiian vibe to it, very casual, serving up original fruit drink mixes, Poke, Teriyaki Chicken / Beef and Shrimp as well. There is both indoor and outdoor seating although it's very limited on both. Each order is taken and served - first in, first out and pretty much one order at a time which makes for extended wait time to get your meal(s). I ordered the 2 meat bowl (Teriyaki Chicken & Grilled Shrimp. Yes, shrimp is an option on this special. The bowl starts with a bed of seasoned rice, your meat options on top with Broccoli, Cauliflower, Green Peas & Carrot slices. The presentation is colorful and very appealing. Teriyaki Chicken is very good and not over seasoned. The Shrimps are plentiful however, they were not pealed with tails and not deveined. I like Maui's on Main for its originality and authentic flavors. Service is very friendly and the menu is reasonably priced. Tried this place today and it was soooooo good. First of all, friendly doesn't even begin to describe everyone there. We got there right as a rush started and they were super apologetic about the wait. As we were first timers like many after their recent time in the limelight, they still took the time to offer sole good suggestions. Very kind very warm hearted folks in this establishment. The food though, wow. I tried the plate with teriyaki chicken and Hawaiian fried chicken. De. Lish. Ous. My son and my friend both had the garlic shrimp and pig. Cleaned the plates. My little son has a plain burger. I stole a bite. Let me tell you, that warm soft sweet bun was insane before I even got to the meat. I will definitely go back and try a burger. Drinks are canned for now. There's tea but not sweet. Sugar and lemons are provided. Milkshakes seemed very popular. It was hot and warm even inside so maybe that's why but almost every table had one. We went at a time with an unexpected rush we were told so it was crowded. We had to wait for a table inside but it didn't take long. The food was worth the wait. The friendliness of everyone was worth coming back again. read more
