We saw Maui on Main all over TikTok and decided to try it the same day. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had. First off, they only accepted cash. In 2026, that's pretty frustrating. We had to leave, find an ATM, and come back just to order. We ordered a little bit of everything, hoping at least something would stand out. It didn't. The mac salad had no flavor, the meats were dry, and the fried rice wasn't even mixed with the meat--it was just plain rice with the meat piled on top. The teriyaki sauce wasn't good either. Even the people eating next to us were talking about how disappointed they were. The drink selection was weak, and to make matters worse, the soda machine wasn't working. The A/C was also broken, so it was extremely hot inside while we were eating. The restaurant itself felt cluttered and disorganized. There were random decorations stacked behind the register, exposed wires visible, and the overall place just didn't feel clean or put together. The staff also didn't come across as particularly welcoming. On top of all that, the prices were high for the quality of food we received. Overall, I'd give it a 1/10. We went because of the TikTok. Parking was a bit hard because there were cars blocking the one of the ramps to enter the parking lot so I had to go in a circle to get to the other side to enter the parking lot. The service was nice and kind. I just had to wait for my ube shake for a long while. I wish they would've told me the shake would've been so long of a wait because I would've just got a fountain drink with my meal. So heads up, if you were thinking to get a shake to drink while eating your meal, maybe you should get a fountain drink too while you wait for the shake. The shake was really good though! What i recommend getting here: Hawaiian fried chicken, 4.5/5 Kahlua pork (no it doesn't contain any Kahlua, lol), 4.5/5 Spam fried rice, 4/5 Spam musubi, 3.5/5 I wouldn't recommend the garlic shrimp since you have to peel the shell. For dessert I'd recommend their ube shake. Service has always been friendly. It's also my 2nd place to go for Hawaiian food after L&L . Maui's is also a lot closer to me. At first it was a bit difficult to get parking, but once we did, it was a breeze to find! There is an outdoor seating area and an inside seating area with about 9 tables. The lady who took our order was helpful and sweet. The food was incredibly delicious (so good that I forgot to take a picture right when we got it). We got a plate with shrimp, teriyaki chicken, double mac salad and white rice. The shrimp tasted fresh and the seasoning was great. The teriyaki chicken was also really delicious especially when we mixed the sauce with siracha! Look, smell, and overall vibe of this spot made me feel like I was eating Hawaiian food in Hawaii. I ordered the two-meat combo: Hawaiian fried chicken and garlic shrimp. It did not disappoint! Excellent new Hawaiian restaurant near downtown San Antonio. The Tiki style restaurant features a Hawaiian themed patio, luau music, and a small indoor seating area. The restaurant and staff is very welcoming. Their menu offers great cornerstone Hawaii bites for a fair price! I was happy to try this restaurant while visiting home from LA. My grandma and girlfriend accompanied me and came by around Friday at 8PM. There was plenty seating and a short wait time for our entrees to come out. The amount of food for the price is generous and the quality of plate was amazing. Their shrimp and chicken were very good. And the Mac salad was fair. Maui's on Main was recommend to me. We went for lunch and ordered one meat plates. I had the teriyaki chicken & hubby had the kalua pork. Both plates had very large portions. We ate about half before we took the plates home. The meats were very tender and we enjoyed both of them. The rice and macaroni sides were very plain. He put the teriyaki sauce over the rice to give it some flavor. We were the only ones there so we chose a table and waited about 10 mins for our food. The place is very clean and looks right out to the neighboring businesses. The total for our order was $43 including 2 Hawaiian flavored juice cans. As we finished the meats, we discovered a bed of rice under both meats. I think if they served a plate with smaller portions and much less rice they could have a lower priced plate. The mac salad was very tasty and the fried rice yummy! The 2nd thing we got was a burger and with all the toppings it was really tasty but the burger it self plain. Highlight of the burger was the bun, soft, sweet and just perfect. The fries were cooked well and had a good seasoning! That seasoning should have been used on the burger!! We also order a Loko Moco! One of my favorite Hawaiian dishes! It was cooked well, eggs runny and lots of gravy but again no flavor.... The mochi cake was pretty good, slightly sweet and chewy like it should be. All in all it was a good experience but the food was lacking flavor as others have also said... Yummm brings me back to my days in Oahu and Maui. This is authentic, delicious Hawaiian food from their rice plates to their poke! Their poke is just like how they prepare it in Hawaii. Unfortunately the inside seating was very small and tight and it was too hot out to sit outside (where there was more seating). Plus the building was pretty warm inside. Decided to try out this place with friends today. This is a small place with even less parking. The lines are long, and the food took a while to get after ordering. Yet. The wait was worth it. The Mac was amazing ... best in the city. We tried a little of just about every meat .. kahlua pig had a deep flavor and was super juicy. Their mac salad was nice, the sweetness of the mayo helped balance the savory of the proteins. Spam fried rice completed the meal, although I would have preferred white rice. Make sure to mention when ordering, if that's what you prefer. Teriyaki chicken plate lunch- teriyaki chicken breast meat cut up into pieces and sprinkled with sliced green onions. As stated above I had the fried chicken and it was too salty for me although my husband liked it so mixed reviews. However, IF you choose to go, you MUST get the garlic shrimp! Everyone at the table said the shrimp was amazing! The only draw back is that it has the shell on and the flavor is on the shell! You had to suck the flavoring out but what was on the shrimp was very good! Another reason for the 3-star. The macaroni salad had zero flavor as well. I think some salt could have gone a long way. The salt they used on the fried chicken could have helped this side dish. The teriyaki sauce was pretty good but dipping the already salty chicken in a typical salty sauce was overkill. The other individuals that worked there were super nice, always asking how we were doing and incredibly sorry for running out of the beef. Would I recommend this place? Yes but only for specific items. I would run here for the shrimp and fried spam rice but that's about it for me! Maybe they had an off day, and that's ok. This is a small family restaurant. Inside the restaurant is small but they are so welcoming you're instantly comfortable. The food was good! My husband who is a "burger guy" described the burger as top tier. I would have to agree plus the fries were pretty tasty as well. I really enjoyed the Mac salad & garlic shrimp. Each order is taken and served - first in, first out and pretty much one order at a time which makes for extended wait time to get your meal(s). The bowl starts with a bed of seasoned rice, your meat options on top with Broccoli, Cauliflower, Green Peas & Carrot slices. The presentation is colorful and very appealing. Teriyaki Chicken is very good and not over seasoned. The Shrimps are plentiful however, they were not pealed with tails and not deveined.
