Their product reminds me of many things I love, for one, Tasaka Guri Guri which I grew up having and also a restaurant I love on Oahu, Jejubing (Korean Ice dessert), to Filipino Halo Halo (minus all the fuss with jellies lol). Once you step into the cool AC shop, you'll be transported back to the 80's/90's with the hip retro decor of the black and white checkered tiles all around, arcade game system, surf board along the wall and a totally rad Trapper Keeper with photos of satisfied customers!! I went twice in the past two weeks and it always hit the spot!! It's been so hot and humid in Kihei especially with back to back...to back storm systems so something cold and refreshing is just perfect! But honestly year round, I will find myself craving this. During our first visit, the owner Jason let us sample everything that our hearts desired. He explained the process and making each batch in house and choosing the local flavor profiles! I love how there's local ingredients and fruits used like Lemons (you might even see a box in store), Passion Fruit, Coconut and Hami Melon to name a few! My favorite (as you could see by multiple photos lol) is the Hami Melon (think Canteloupe's prettier and sweeter sister lol) and Coconut combo (which was pretty much Haupia-Coconut Pudding) and adding that Creamy add on of Condensed Milk is a game changer. I mean it was giving Halo Halo vibes! I tried everything from POG, to the Pineapple Scoop Ice (that one reminds me of Guri Guri), to Lychee, to Coconut Coffee...and Jason gave us an unreleased sample of Japanese Whiskey with Miso Caramel! It was your pretty standard shave ice and I could taste a bit of the oreo flavor, but it could've used a little more syrup. Other than that, my little guy enjoyed it. I've been really into espresso floats lately and I noticed they had a coffee float available. I simply can't resist coffee and ice cream. Mmmhmmm, it's totally a thing and I was stoked to see it on their menu! What I appreciate is that they use Maui Oma Coffee, a local coffee company that sources quality beans from around the world and in Hawaii. The coffee float itself was pretty good. We would've preferred regular milk but they were out unfortunately. The pricing on the latte was decent, not too expensive and the flavor was good. Whatever syrup they used was great and it truly tasted like a mix of mint chocolate chip and coffee flavor. The oat milk taste wasn't too strong which is good since that's typically what turns us off from it. Like any food truck in the Maui Swap Meet, you'll have to pay a small fee to get in but it's a quarter per person for entry so that's not much of an issue. Parking is good and the food truck isn't very difficult to find on the grounds. Definitely a great option for anyone wanting a cool drink on a hot day in the market.

I just so happened to find out about Aloha Kettlecorn because Jen M. recently left a review & I saw it on my Yelp homepage under 'recent activity' for places nearby. Fate? I think so! I found out that they were posted at the Kula Country Farm's pumpkin patch and I already planned to go this weekend. Once we got there, I made a bee line to their food truck and I got the Salted Caramel soft serve ice cream. Now, let me preface this by saying that I love sweets, aaaall kinds of sweets. However, I've never really been too big on soft serve ice cream or popcorn. Why I got soft serve ice cream -- no idea. I feel like I just had little menehunes whispering in my ear "get it, get it, get it" and now my life has changed. Once I got a big spoonful of all that salted caramel goodness, I didn't want it to end. Wow! From the caramel drizzle to the salted caramel popcorn that topped the soft serve, it was all so perfect. I'm obsessed! I want more! My husband got their acai bowl which was preeeetty big and it was full of so much goodness according to him. He said it's probably one of the best acai bowls he's had on the island. So, two thumbs up for the acai bowl! Before we left the patch, we ended up getting the salted caramel (their last bag!!) and sweet & salty kettlecorn. I'm already halfway done with my not-so-medium sized bag and will be super sad once it's all gone. Really, it's that good! I asked them where they're normally located and they don't have a permanent spot, but do events around the island. I think starting November though they will be somewhere in Makawao.. 2 days a week. The customer service is awesome, Elias and his wife are super nice! My favorites are the organic coconut and the cookies & creme because come on, anything with oreos are the BEST!! We just recently also went to 4th Friday in Kihei where they have a food truck. They sell their kettlecorn and also delicious their soft serve!! It was the first time we had the soft serve. SOOO yummy! We got the "Matcha Kapua bowl" which also had mango, pineapple, and strawberries, and granola. For $6, it was a great deal! There is also an Acai bowl and a pitaya bowl! You can also add pa`i`ai, which of course we had to because, we part Hawaiian and das how we do ;) They also offer "Aloha Bowls" which are their soft serve ice cream without all the extras on it. They were very quick at making our drinks and it was truly some of the best lemonade I've ever had. The only downside is that, like many places in Maui, they only have paper straws. I don't usually have a problem with this but by the time I was getting to the end of my drink, pieces were flaking off. Though this isn't enough to knock my review down, it certainly wasn't pleasant. LuLu's is a must-visit in Lahaina just be sure to bring your own straw!
