We were in Shipshewana on a day trip to see the huge quilt show. Lunch time arrived. We looked at…read morethe map of downtown attractions and saw "shaved ice." The idea of a cool, tasty treat sounded absolutely wonderful. When we spied the small, cute building, we started to wonder if shaved ice was all they had. We parked in the little one-way alley nearby. But the sign on the front promised substantial fortifications such as pulled pork, hot dogs and brats. We're going to be just fine! The front door and steps might be a bit tricky for a person with difficulty walking. The ladies were very friendly and welcoming. They went the extra mile to be sure that we were having a wonderful time having lunch at their place. They offered to carry our food outside for us when they saw that my friend was having a little trouble walking. There are small tables indoors with the air conditioning, or you can sit outside on the patio, shaded by parasols. There was a gliding table - seats four, and brochures in case you want one for your own home. We both had the pulled pork on a pretzel bun. Tender and flavorful by itself, but you can add condiments. Tomato salsa, pineapple salsa, BBQ sauce, etc. Get plenty of napkins for all the juice. The pineapple slaw was really delicious. It was a little spicy from cayenne pepper, and any crunch lost by the pineapple, cabbage and red onions to brining was more than made up for by the crunchy macadamia nuts. What a great combination of flavors and textures! You can get a bag of chips and fountain sodas to go with your meal. You get two sides of your choice. Be sure to get the pineapple slaw as one of them! Then, the reason we came: the shaved ice. I had never had it before. It's even better than a snow cone, because the ice melts just as your tongue touches it. The ladies made sure to give us plenty of syrup. My friend got lychee. My red raspberry ice made my lips and tongue turn bright red. Oh, and you get a special little surprise in the bottom - a gumball. Fun for kids of all ages!

I don't know if it's a legacy of Covid, or just a focus on take away & delivery. Food & Drink: Food is good and the portion is generous. Our Boba was ok. Service: It's a fast casual place where you order at the counter, so we're not expecting or getting table service. Well, there are no tables. In any case we got our orders correctly and promptly, so that's good. Value: The custom Poke starts at $11 for one scoop, and that's good price even for Michiana area. You get two scoops for $14, which elevates the size and flavor for just $3 more. The boba milk tea is standard. Rating: Good price and generous portion warrant this place a 5 star. You're not leaving hungry. Everybody is feeling the inflation, so a place offering good value should be encouraged.

They aren't cheap, but I am in my poke bowl era right now, and Hawaii Poke is the only poke bowl to-go place near my boyfriend's house. We had gotten take out from here about a year ago but I never bothered to write a review until now. Located in a very busy shopping plaza, Hawaii Poke is a happy sight among all the chain restaurants nearby. The interior is plain and basic and the counter with the ingredients is nothing fancy, but it was a popular place at 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon! So that's a good sign. So not only was I trying to be healthy, I was also trying to be cheap so I only got the one scoop build your own bowl ($11.99) and no extras. Portions are surprisingly large, as you can see in my picture, and it took me about an hour to eat when I got home. After getting unlimited toppings at AA Poke in Fort Wayne, I am always now sad to see when poke places limit the number of toppings. But anyway, let's briefly mention the quality of ingredients. The tuna I got wasnt the freshest and the carrots looked a bit brown but everything else was tasty! I also liked the sweet chili sauce I got. And I will never get a poke bowl that doesn't have edamame. Edamame is a must! This might still be a high calorie lunch(sauces and rice are not low calorie!) but I FEEL healthy and that was what was most important for my mental health today.

This place…read moresomehow turns barbecue, a cuisine built on patience, care, and flavor, into an expensive lesson in lowered expectations. The meat arrives dry, tired, and joyless, like it's been reheated emotionally as well as physically. Each bite feels less like a meal and more like an obligation. Smoke without flavor, seasoning without purpose, and textures that make you wonder if the kitchen has ever experienced moisture. The sauces don't enhance anything, they just sit there, confused, desperately trying to distract you from the fact that the food underneath is beyond saving. For the prices they charge, you'd expect something memorable. And it is memorable, just not in the way they're hoping. You'll remember how much you paid, how little you enjoyed it, and how fast you wished you'd gone literally anywhere else. This is the rare restaurant where you regret ordering while you're still chewing. The atmosphere tries to sell "rustic farm charm" but delivers "neglected barbecue joint that mistook vibes for effort." It's not cozy, it's not charming, and it certainly isn't worth planning a meal around. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. The Prized Pig isn't just bad barbecue, it's aggressively mediocre, which somehow feels worse. If you value flavor, money, or happiness, do yourself a favor and keep driving. This is not a destination. It's a warning.

It looks very clean there and the wait staff was friendly.
