There was far too much sushi rice for the amount of fish, and some of the fish appeared to have been cut incorrectly against/with the grain, making it surprisingly chewy. One piece of yellowtail was so dry it was almost like jerky and literally stood straight out when we picked it up with chopsticks. My husband's ikura (salmon roe) itself was good, but the mound of rice underneath it was nearly two inches tall! My ikura was a completely different story. It arrived shriveled and dry. I tried one bite and it actually stuck to my teeth. I've never experienced that with salmon roe before. I do want to emphasize again how good our waitress was. She immediately comped the ikura, kept our drinks attended to, and was completely on point with service all evening. I overheard another table mention that there was a new sushi chef, which may explain why our experience was so different from the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, based on the food we were served, I can't rate this higher than 2.5 stars.

This is a family-owned business and you will often see the whole family there- I feel like I've watched their daughters grow up through the years of getting my sushi fix!
