This location of Poke Toki is over by our friends' house, so Nate and I stopped in to grab some takeout lunch before visiting them recently. The menu is a bit different than their other location over on Northland Drive. It can be a bit overwhelming as there are a LOT of options, but I'd recommend going for one of the signature bowls. I got the chirashi don, which has a ton of stuff like egg, scallions, edamame, ahi, salmon, octopus, and more. It only comes in the large size, but other bowls come in a regular size too. The employees were helpful and the bowl was tasty. The ingredients all tasted fresh but I think I might try to build my own bowl next time. The space was clean but we took our bowls to go. They didn't include chopsticks in our to go bag, so be sure to check or ask for those. I also got a box of chocolate mochi ice cream to share with our friends - they were really good and not too sweet. read more

The signs walk you through the process of building your own bowl, or they offer a few of their own creations to try. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is casual with upbeat music. We loved the first location but this location is less than a mile from our house, so we plan to stop in all the time. Definitely recommend trying this! read more

We love Poke Toki and have made it one of our go-to spots when we don't feel like cooking. There are not many places in Grand Rapids you can get fish that tastes fresh, but this is one of them. The service has improved recently, as the staff is attentive and quick. It's not a bad place to sit down, since it's clean and quiet, but we usually just pick up takeout. The food is absolutely delightful. So fresh and full of flavor. Every time I go it's never super busy, which is usually a bad sign if the place doesn't appear to get a lot of business, but that's actually good in this instance because parking and seating is always available. Don't expect a fancy wine and dine experience with servers coming to refill your water. This experience is strictly about the quality of the food and the convenience of getting in and out. Staff members at Poke Toki were very friendly and patient as my older relatives went through the line reading all the small signs with all the choices. I was very pleased and thankful to see that! At first, the ordering might look overwhelming because of all the choices. But if you order by looking at what you want, ordering makes it a lot easier. Also, the staff members can guide you through. We all got a large bowl. I got a large because I love to eat, and I will say I was very full. But my aunts and grandma got a large because they can split it to two meals. Drove by and noticed it. I got two of the ahi tuna large bowls--one sweet, one spicy-- to take home to the family for lunch. The menu is a bit overwhelming at first but the guy at the counter was very patient and answered all my questions. We thought the bowls were very tasty. I liked both tunas, maybe a very slight prefence for the sweet, but both were excellent. The place seemed very clean, the service was good. I do feel the price is a little on the high end. So excited for a place like this in the forest hills neighbor hood. Walked in and saw a food bar with a lot of different choices. I was a hit overwhelmed and pressed for time, so I selected the ahi tuna bowl from their signature bowl menu. It rice, shredded egg, sweet and spicy ahi tuna (the guy gave me both options of tuna to try them out), edamame, seaweed salad, pickled radish, and choice of pineapple or mango. My only nit picky thing is the fruit was cut in larger pieces vs a small dice. But the bowl was delicious, and I ate every bit. The staff was friendly, and they have a rewards program. Now I get it, end of night, you want to go home. BUT when you're closing up shop 10-15 minutes before the close that just seems like someone who wants to fail. We came in 8 minutes prior to close we're told we couldn't order because they already cleaned up. We had 22 orders, we raced from an ice rink 6 minutes away to try and get the team a decent late night meal. At $15/bowl seems like you'd want to stay 5 minutes after close to make an extra $330. The food was mostly really healthy (tons of "green" options for Noom users), and the flavors of all the ingredients were fantastic. We found a new favorite spot! We are huge poke fans and are always looking to try something new. The sauce flavors and toppings are a bit more elevated than other poke restaurants - the sweet onions they make are to die for. Salmon and tuna both very fresh and the shrimp and octopus looked great as well. Both brown and sushi rice were cooked perfectly. We can't wait to come back! read more

Originally from the islands of Hawaii...we know Poke like the back of our hands!  So finding Poke Toki was a great find. The variety of toppings are insane and yummy.  And all the protein taste fresh (hopefully is fresh!)  We have visited the Cascade location twice and love the variety.  A bit pricey but getting good seafood has to be at a cost.  We would give Poki Toki a 4.5 rating but on Yelp the next step down from 5 is a 4-star rating.  Only reason giving a 4-star rating is because they ran out of greens to be used as the base for one of our bowls (instead of rice).  Was wondering if the server could get some from the kitchen, but no luck.  I guess they didn't order enough supply of greens. Maybe should have asked them to get some from Subway...their neighbor a few steps down from them ;) Other than the greens hiccup...if you can't get to Hawaii any time soon, stop by Poke Toki!
