Parfait, iced Americano with cream, and a cafe latte

Very friendly service with a super laid back atmosphere, like being at your best friend's home. The parfait had natural yogurt, without sugar, and fresh fruit. The coffees were made individually and with care. My latte had so much foam even though it was almond milk!

A very sweet location!! Me and my friend came here on a whim in a cloudy Saturday after shopping. Cozy setting with mismatched furniture and a hand written menu gives a cozy vibe. The friendly Korean owner was excited to go over the menu items with us. We got Coing tea with empanadas on the side (the spinach and cheese one is my recommendation!) I'm a little in love with this spot after stopping in, and will definitely be back to try more of what Maté Latte has to offer)

Found this great little cafe while looking for a different place in NDG - it was a fantastic little find. I had waffles with dulce de leche (the real stuff, not the sickly-sweet kind you sometimes get) while the gf had the banana foster waffles - both were outstanding. There was a bunch of other food on display that looking great, including legit-looking Argentinean empenadas (I'm going to go back just to try them). We had lattes, and the coffee was good (but not amazing). They were still better than most breakfast places in Montreal, so it's not actually a negative. The staff were really friendly. They offered to combine different things from the menu if we wanted, and gave suggestions when we asked, which was nice. They had a terrace-like setup of table and chairs out the front, taking great advantage of NDG's massive sidewalks - something I'll definitely be giving it a go on the warmer weekends.

My husband and I are visiting family here and I saw this place on Yelp and decided to try them out. My husband ordered their breakfast plate and I ordered their hot stone bowl bibimbap with tofu and it was soooooooo delicious. Amazing flavor and it was a lot of food for the price. Extremely friendly service as well.

Charming little cafe in NDG. Breakfast menu includes a a selection of waffles and crepes, baked goods, and "typical" breakfast items (e.g., bacon, eggs, toast, potatoes). We went around 10:30 on a weekday and they were also starting to put lunch items into the display case, including some amazing looking salads, wraps, and paninis. I was looking for something breakfast-y and sweet, so I ordered the Bananas Foster waffle and a latte. The waffle was perfectly cooked with a crisp exterior and a soft and chewy interior. It was topped with a mess of bananas, warm buttery brown sugar sauce, and vanilla ice cream that, although nothing special on its own, melted into the butter-brown sugar sauce to form a next level creation. Yum. My latte had a bit too much foam for my liking, but was otherwise very good. Service was friendly and casual. Prices were very reasonable. The decor was eclectic and inviting. I would definitely come back... Although I think I'd be torn between getting the bananas Foster again or to trying some of the other things on the menu =)

Winter pre Xmas view from Mate Latte on Sherbrooke west. Great place to be with great music and ambience.

Service was one of the better things about this restaurant. Our server was attentive quick and the food came out fairly fast after ordering. Restaurant has a lot of small tables and is better for smaller groups and you can squeeze multiple people into the smaller tables as long as you let your server know that you're fine with squeezing in. It's got a fun vibe to it with nice decor and maybe a good place to go to hang out with your friends and grab some drinks.

May be getting carry out instead? We were able to get seated at a two top picnic table before 7pm, only about a 5-10 minute wait. Ordered two sides of kimchi, Kim gui, tteokbokki, regular spicy chickie, Buldak chicken. C$74.23 The kimchi side comes with a side of shredded radish, which is quite sweet. Was hoping it would be the cubed radish kimchi instead. The shredded radish clumps together, it's ok. The kimchi is also so-so. The seaweed is good. The tteokbokki is a small portion, the gochujang sauce tastes smokey, it's pretty good. Comes with mushrooms. The spicy chickie is good, the breading is light and crispy. The chickie is nicely fried, not too dry. I should have read more carefully, the Buldak is smothered in cheese, had to removed it all off the top of the meat. The meat is oddly cut, it's nicely cooked and tender. It's a big portion of meat. There is no complimentary rice with the BBQ Buldak chicken, that's a first. No banchans here as complimentary here either, not very Korean of this place at all. :/

TL;DR/The Short Version: Casual Korean eatery. Great combos…read morewith lots of variety. Everything was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken combo ($16.99) and my husband got the beef combo ($16.99). We requested no sesame seeds for our food and they accommodated by not sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, japchae or beef, but they forgot that one of the fried chicken sauces has sesame seeds in it, so I had to give my husband that piece. We were going to share anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The Fried Chicken Combo came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, each one a different flavour: original, sweet and spicy, and soy garlic. The sweet and spicy sauce has sesame seeds in it. Since I can't eat sesame seeds but can tolerate slight contamination, I didn't bring it up and just gave that piece to my husband. Although in retrospect I should have alerted them for them to be more aware for someone else who might have a more severe issue. Both combos came with japchae, rice, 2 dumplings, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was great. I liked both the original and the soy garlic. Hubby liked the sweet and spicy. The beef was tender and flavourful. And I liked that it was lean meat and not gristly. The dumplings were deep-fried and had pork and vegetables in it. The rice was nicely steamed and slightly sticky which I liked. The japchae was flavourful and had shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers and onions in it. It was little too oily for my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The combos also came with a can of soda or a bottle of water. My husband got a Coca Cola and I got a bottle of water, which I took to go to drink during my shopping adventures after lunch, since we were given tap water with our meal. Service was courteous and efficient. Lots of indoor seating with televisions playing K-pop music videos in the dining room. The restaurant is down a flight of stairs, so might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Review #18 (2025)

The bulgogi combo ($16.99 CAD) has a little of everything from japchae, mandu, coleslaw, bulgogi, and rice. It even comes with a drink. Free hot tea or water is offered to customers as well. To order, you press the button on the table and the server will come to you. Service is cheerful and efficient. One bathroom for each gender is available for customers to use. The restaurant itself is relatively clean.
