Last meal for our trip to Montreal and we ended with a bang! Our family recommended this place for sandwiches and we tend to like sandwiches especially for lunch, but of course sandwiches can always be eating at any time. No discrimination! Clarke Cafe is fairly small inside and of course no seating to stay and eat as it's primarily a "to-go" spot especially during COVID. The line was fairly long so make sure you order by calling in and so you only really have to wait to pay. But like many have said, the line goes relatively fast. The menu is straight forward: sandwiches, dessert, and drinks. All sandwiches come include lettuce, tomato, cheese, and your choice of two (2) extras: eggplant, hot peppers, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, black olives, and pickles. Definitely get your extras because these sandwiches are pretty bare. The sandwiches are actually fairly priced ($7CAD-$9.50CAD) and really large. We got porchettas (many many porchetta sandwiches as the rest of the fam wanted one each) and a chicken cutlet sandwich. If there's one thing to order here, it's a porchetta sandwich. It's meaty. It's tender. It's flat out delicious. The chicken cutlet was not great. It's flat and crispy, but not meaty enough. If I would suggest one thing for Clarke to do is not have such a flat piece of chicken. It just becomes a bit dry. If you like eggplant, definitely get the eggplant inside the sandwich as well as the roasted peppers which gives you a nice spicy kick. We also got some natas as the bf loves pasteis de nata (Portuguese eggtarts). The shell/tart was a bit chewy, the flan sweet and custardy, but tasted a little burnt. I would try one if you've never had it, but I've definitely had better. Gosh, I wish we had this place back home. Oh well, I guess it's something we'll look forward to next time we come back!

You guys I got a menu! Since it's not heard of online

If you're looking for a great sandwich and are tired of dagwoods or subway than you have found the right spot. Clarke's is originality a bakery that used to be located on st viateur but moved on down to Center street in PSC. After 37 years they decided to make the jump and come down to where the rent was cheaper and have a new crowd. I only got to come in quickly and pick up my food and leave because of the corona virus but they were both very nice guys who made my sandwiches with love. I added the menu because I didn't know how many options they had for sandwiches besides the pictures that people posted. You're welcome :) I love this spot and can't wait to come back on a less insane time in life to see them again.

Great sandwich! The only thing missing was a hot press to slightly grill it down. Beware, if you come during lunch hour, there will be a line up out the door. Luckily, it goes by pretty quickly. I got the chicken cutlet sandwich (minus cheese) with eggplant and spicy peppers (2 additional toppings to the lettuce, tomato and cheese at no cost). I was definitely satisfied even before eating the sandwich as they are all made after ordering. Also, I even saw the chicken cutlets being pulled out of the fryer (super fresh!). As for the actual sandwich, it is more than enough, especially for lunch. The flavours were really good and it tasted really fresh. The only downside was that the bread wasn't as hot as the chicken inside causing a lukewarm temperature overall. I think if they pressed it and/or heated the fresh loaf of bread, it would really make it THAT much better Overall, I can't wait to come back! Given the price point of roughly $10 a sandwich, the value is definitely there.

A simple and nice coffee shop is located in Pointe-Saint-Charles. It is nice to see a modern restaurant in this area. I see how slowly this area is evolving nicely. At the Clarke, Staff are friendly. Great list of coffees and tea, pastries and sandwiches are served there. I got a hot chocolate (perfect, not too sweet and not too bitter), and a cannoli (the filling was so so delicious and creamy). Recommended.

You definitely need to make time to go over to Clarke's and grab yourself a sandwich! Not only is that thing humongous, it's is downright sinful! I always opt for the chicken cutlet, add on some eggplant and chomp down to my heart's content. This is the kind of sandwich where you will need napkins! No regrets though! Grab a cannoli and coffee while you're at it but make sure to check them out! Offering takeout and delivery during confinement!

Very happy w this new neighbourhood joint. Super tasty ice coffee slushee (!!!), lovely in-house made croissants and other breakfast bakery goods, and really wonderful sandwiches. The folks working there and the owner (who's baking or prepping in the back) are really lovely people. This will be a regular stop on the way to work going forward ;-)

There's a new Italian cafe and sandwich shop in Pointe Saint Charles, and it's so freaking awesome that I think I might be dreaming. They have incredible coffee (hot, iced or slush), they have cannolis, and they have some the best sandwiches I've ever tried in Montreal. I've only been there once, so I can't speak to everything, but the porchetta sandwich with dijonnaise, aubergine and pickles will change your life. But honestly, no matter what you grab, I'm sure you'll leave happy.

A light snack of grilled chicken, Italian sausage and Porchetta. I had to share, but it didn't go down without a fight.

I LOVE CLARKE SANDWICHES ALMOST AS MUCH AS I LOVE MY MOTHER. I was a regular at the old Clarke bakery on St-Viateur. I'm so happy they are back! I'm happy to report that the same sandwiches are still on the menu - and even better if it's possible! The bread has improved. The extras are now included. And the amazing taste is still there. Grilled chicken, italian sausage, PORCHETTA, YEAH BUDDY! I gotta have them all. You'll be seeing me at Clarke café. I'll be the guy scarfing down 3 sandwiches in the corner. And I'm not even ashamed of it. Can't wait to have the Arancino - and special mention for the Canolis! Yeah buddy. Ummmm ummm ummm. Party in your mouth.

Good sandwiches (good filling ingredients although they could have a little bit more filling but what stands for me is the bread, very tasty, they don't do it themselves but it is fresh bread that is delivered to them every morning), good chocolate and coffees, pastry is very good. Nice place to work for a while with your computer.

This place has good sandwiches and great service, awesome for a lunch spot during the work week. Food is ready quick, fairly priced, and the place is ok to chill and eat. My only gripe is the dog policy, I get it people like eating with their dogs but sometimes there are 5 diff pets in there shaking off wet hair from the snow and rain and sometimes barking at each other. Feels like a kennel some days, this kind of policy makes more sense for places that have a patio open in the summer and lots of space. If it wasn't for this super dog friendly policy I'd go back more frequently, but I don't want wet dog particles ending up in my food which is why I only go for lunch. If I see more than 2 dogs inside I skip out and go somewhere else.

All of this was wonderful! I barely had time to snap a pic of the croissant before devouring it!

I only got to take some of their food to go, but I will definitely be back for more! The croissant and other pastries were awesome! I really want to try their sandwiches now!

Had a wonderful meal here. Linguini Alfredo with Chicken and Bacon. Served with a glass of house…read morered wine I couldn't have been more pleased and all for $26ca.

While this is still Fresh Juice in my mind, let's get this one down…read more I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times over the years and each visit just leaves something to be desired. (Why it seems I only have 1 actual check-in for it is beyond my understanding, mayhaps it has been so long since my previous visits that I was still a newbie Yelper and thought check-ins were lame*...) My rating is actually 3.5 stars rounded up for just really super sweet service. *Check ins are not lame FYI ... I realized u could win badges, dukedoms and baronies and yes, even kingdoms when u do check in to places. Some places even offer a special Yelper treat (like 10% off or a free shot or 2 for 1 - if they actually honour it is a whole 'nother can of worms) when u check in. Plus it's kool to show a place u r it's regular ;) It's a kyoot lil bistro type set up with terrasse in the summer, a bit cramped-feeling, however nothing overwhelmingly claustrophobic. Slightly too many tables for the space but necessary due to popularity. What I really dig about this place is the local art work on display, gorgeous photographs framed and hanging from the walls may make you want to hover over stranger's tables to get a good look. There are 2 bathrooms which seem to serve the space appropriately, but make sure you knock! For some reason patrons here enjoy using the facilities with the door unlocked which caused a couple of embarassing moments for my friend when both bathrooms were occupied, yet not locked. Because it has been so long since my previous visits let's stick to yesterday's, which is more or less representative of a typical visit. We were greeted ever so sweetly and they let us choose a nice table near the window for 2. We checked the specials board: a must-do when you come here, nothing interested me, but my friend ordered the Frittata Special. I chose the Hummus entrée with veggies and pita because my appetite has been fairly absent these days. Our waiter was quite generous and offered me to have the coffee included in my friend's frittata special (because she only wanted the OJ included). The coffee was never refilled, but I couldn't complain really 'cuz I didn't hafta pay for it in the first place. My hummus entrée was quite generous in portion actually, thankfully because at 9$ it damn well better be. There were lotsa veggies on the plate too which I highly appreciated. The pita was ok nothing special, there was plenty of it, but I ended up eating more veggies than pita. The hummus, homemade if I understood correctly, is absolutely delicious, different from most hummus yet still very much enjoyable. The cucumber and peppers seemed a bit on the precut-or-about-to-go-bad variety imo, my friend said they were fine, but they were slightly too slimey to be fresh cut and/or fresh produce, I felt. Also they chopped these huge wedges of carrot which I didn't touch because they were way too thick to be tempting. Carrot sticks or baby carrots would be a better option. I remove a 1/2 star for this aspect of questionable freshness and oddly chosen cut of carrot. The rest of the menu didn't really interest me in the sense that I wouldn't willingly pay those prices for those menu items. There were very limited options under 10$ and all in the entrée section (so if you're not too hungry don't come here 'cuz there's not many affordable munchie type items). Lotsa sweet brunch options (pancakes crepes etc), not much in terms of bacon and eggs type stuff, if that's what you're looking for this isn't the place. So pricing and choices is where I remove a whole star. This is a place I don't mind going every once in awhile because service is great and the food tastes good, but the questionable freshness with those prices makes it so I don't want to come often and can't understand why people make this a regular choice when there are better, cheaper choices very nearby. I must add that I don't have much of a sweet tooth (and especially not for breakfast) so this brunch option may be more tantalizing for those who do.
