When you are flying out during a morning flight, breakfast is a non-negotiable for me. My parents and I stopped by Matt's Big Breakfast as I've heard good things about their locations across the valley. This place had lots of seating, and was very comfortable for a spot of breakfast before our travels. Best airport breakfast I've ever had! It may have been a simple side order of eggs and potatoes, but they both were perfect. My parents enjoyed their food as well. Definitely stop here in the future, even if busy which it was. Very grateful for a corner booth, and will be mindful to see if this spot is available in the future. read more

Giving them a 5 for the food and only because we went happened to go to our first Matt's Big Breakfast in Glendale when we stumbled across them and dropped in on them a few days ago. That location was fantastic beyond just the food. But this airport location leaves a lot to be desired. Service is mediocre and we were one of only a handful of customers there after arriving a couple of minutes after their morning opening. I get it. We had some time at the airport, and this place looked packed with lots of people with tons of food...so we tried it! We waited less than five minutes for seats and ended up sitting at the bar. If you don't mind the bar, sit there...it's entertainment. Our waitress was extremely nice and working so hard the whole time we were there. This works well when you have a long layover. I loved my loaded Bloody Mary. Breakfast wasn't bad either, but it was on the pricy side and the steak had an odd flavor like it was marinated in something. Service was good considering the long wait times and rushed crowd. Before I left the plane I knew that steak and eggs would be the perfect breakfast, but this is an airport - what options will I really have? Matt's was busy, even though I came in on a 6:30am flight. There were still plenty of counter seats though. The server brought water and was ready to take my order - from the all day breakfast section of the menu, Steak and Eggs! Was on a ms teams conference call (with headphones on): server was extremely rude (Laura F). Ordered burgers to go... this is a restaurant in an airport- people will be on calls - patience is a requirement. While I was on the call the server made back end comments like "this is a restaurant". This is implying that you need to make an order or head out because there is a line. We had some time before our flight left so we decided to sit down and eat breakfast. There was a line to get a table but it only took about 10 minutes to get our party of 4 to be seated. Given how many people were there eating, I expected good food. I ordered the "skinny" breakfast which sounded good on the menu but was in fact pretty awful. It was served with a salad and vinaigrette, which is not something I would like for breakfast but I decided to try it. I took about 3 bites and left the rest uneaten. My brother got a different meal (though I can't remember what it was now) and he left most of his uneaten as well. Of course, airport restaurants are expected to be pricier but with the quality of the food being so pour, it was about $85 wasted other than a few cups of coffee. No need to worry about getting hungry if you're on a long flight with the offerings here. The place gets very busy at all hours of the day so account for that if you plan to have breakfast here before boarding. The bloodys are massive and full of flavor as well as their breakfast sandwich with potatoes. Kept me full enough on my 4 hour flight to skip the inflight snack when in the air. Placed seemed to be a little short staffed but did not impact our service, however did have a slightly longer wait to get seated than normal. Not sure if it compares to the other Matt's in town as I've never been to one but this is an excellent preflight breakfast option at terminal 4. read more

Just boarded my flight to JFK and still sipping on the coffee I purchased from this MBB location in the B gate area... I am looking back at my review from 9 years ago and seeing that I had a similar experience then as I did today, and ordered pretty much the same meal! This time my Sonrisa Burrito was made to order with egg whites and no potatoes and it came with salsa on the side. Just like last time, it was delicious! I can't speak to the sit down service, but the to-go is busy and not the friendliest, but very efficient. My food was ready earlier than the expected 10-15 minutes I was quoted. They have basic coffee in the menu with only a whole milk option and it's a limited menu, but everything on it is done well and clearly consistent. You will pay a price though- with tip, my burrito, coffee and bottle of water added up to $37! Whether this airport location or others in the Valley, you can't go wrong with fueling up at Matt's! read more

While wait staff was great, treated us well and seemed to be attentive as much as they could, there was only one server or at least that's what I saw, and she was all over the place with a full restaurant. Food tasted good but was cold. We got the grilled cheese sandwich with the tomato soup and both the grilled cheese and soup were cold. I just had an awful experience at the Matt's Big Breakfast at the airport. Amazingly rude hostess. Epically bad. I love Matt's food and the at the other locations they are quite polite and friendly but at the airport this is my second time I have dealt with an absolutely, juvenile and rude hostess telling people where to stand and acting disgusted if you don't want to sit at a communal table. If I were Matt, I would be carfuls about destroying my brand. If you're at the airport, eat anywhere else. read more
