Buyer beware, if you want to exchange your mattress, they won't give you the difference back if you choose a cheaper one. I bought a K-class Beautyrest Black series and there was no other equivalent to exhange it with , so I chose a slightly cheaper version and it's awful and now I'm stuck with it because they only do one exchange. Prices and delivery fee was high and they wouldn't include delivery fee to make up the difference even after swapping it for a cheaper mattress. I feel cheated. read more

Very good customer service. I called 6 furniture stores in the area for a sectional and found Nick to be one of the only gracious and competent employees I spoke to. Not to criticize the other companies, but I had exactly what I needed in mind as well as a listing of the color/style/etc, and most of the employees were blown away and overwhelmed and told me, "Oh, I don't think we can do that." Even though it was a really pretty basic order and I had the catalog and style number in front of me! But Nick was proactive and helpful and professional, and he is a credit to the company. Update: We have had our bed for only three years and have had to replace it already. The material was starting to come apart at the seams but the worst part is that it has become so lumpy and our backs were hurting each morning. We rotated it and took excellent care of it but I feel it was not as good of quality as we thought when we bought bought it. We have just bought a Casper mattress and there is no comparison. I wake up feeling wonderful each morning. We bought a queen mattress set here the day after Christmas. We worked with the owner, Stewart, and felt we picked a great bed that would work for us even though we kind of made a quick decision. They were even able to deliver the bed that evening even though we came later in the day. Plus he made a mistake on the paperwork and ended up giving us a free frame for the bed and told us Merry Christmas Well, after about a week we knew the bed just wasn't soft enough for us plus we were regretting downsizing from a king to a queen. We ended up going back to the store after almost 3 weeks and explained to Stewart what was happening and he was so awesome and helpful. There were zero issues with exchanging the bed for a softer bed and a king size. He even still gave us the free king frame since he had given us the free queen on accident. I was worried before going in that there might be problems but it was a super easy process and we are very excited about our new bed. Not only that but he gave my 11 yr old daughter a bag of chocolate for being polite and respectful. We would recommend this place and will go back again if we need more beds in the future. At Mattress City, we spent more than $5k on a bed we hoped would be an investment toward better sleep. Sadly, it ended up being a sizable chunk of hard-earned money spent all for naught. We're now doing extensive research to make a decision on a third mattress which we'll be buying elsewhere. Mattress City ("MC" hereinafter) is not a bad store in general, and the sales people are friendly albeit the fact they sometimes employ sales tactics that occasionally make you feel like you're at a car dealership The reason for just one star in this review, however, is due to certain concerns potential customers definitely need to be aware of, the first of which I consider unacceptably misleading and merits the one-star rating all by itself. These concerns are: 1: MC's "120 Day Comfort Guarantee" 2: MC's no-refunds policy 3: Bed Voyage products Details of these concerns are explained below: Concern #1: 120 Day Comfort Guarantee MC states that they offer a "120 Day Comfort Guarantee." A gold seal graphic with this statement can be found about halfway down the home page of their web site (at least as of 5/19/19, and it has been there for at least a few months). But BE SURE you read the fine print! Yes, they allow you to exchange your first purchase for another mattress. BUT THAT'S IT! Unless you're blessed with significant disposable income (we're certainly not), you're left with a lot of anxiety hoping the second mattress is a winner. This is a gamble, because lying on the mattress for a few minutes at the showroom is woefully inadequate to gauge whether it might work for you. The only way to truly know is to buy it and sleep on it at home for several nights or longer. Here's why MC using the term "comfort guarantee" is so deceptive: Normally, "guarantee" implies that you will ultimately be fully satisfied OR that you will be refunded your money. Similarly, "comfort guarantee" sounds like a reassurance that the final mattress you obtain from MC will meet your "comfort" expectations. Such is not the case! At MC, the only thing "comfort guarantee" means is that they will honor ONE, and ONLY ONE, exchange. They even require you to sign your initials next to a bluntly-worded statement on the invoice explicitly stating such -- which read, in our case, "customer is aware and advised that this comfort exchange is the last and final exchange as per Mattress City Comfort Exchange Policy." Granted, MC's terms defined in the 120 Day Comfort Guarantee does clearly state "one time," but what this stipulation means is that the ONLY THNG being "guaranteed" is that you'll be able to exchange the mattress ONCE. But since the second mattress is just as much of a gamble as the first, there is actually ZERO guarantee of comfort! My wife and I know this because we shelled out thousands of dollars, spending an additional $1,000 to do an exchange, and we're now stuck with a mattress we're unhappy with. (I do understand it may not be economically viable for the store to honor more than one exchange, but customers still need to be warned about the "guarantee.") Concern #2: Refunds MC does not give refunds on returns. When asked, Stewart, the owner, explicitly said so: "We do not give refunds." Whether you spend a couple hundred for several thousands, if the product doesn't meet your expectations, you'll only be able to exchange it (under certain conditions). Concern #3: Bed Voyage products Bed Voyage is a local company headquartered in Woodinville that manufactures and sells bamboo sheets, blankets, comforters, and other bedding products. They're made from bamboo, they're luxurious, and they're expensive. If you buy directly from Bed Voyage (in-store or on their web site), they have a 90-day return policy where they will refund your money on returns; however if you buy a Bed Voyage product from MC and later decide you want to return it, MC will NOT allow a return for a refund. Therefore, if Bed Voyage's products interest you, consider purchasing directly from them so that you have that 90-day trial peace of mind knowing you will be refunded if you return it. So there you have it. I don't enjoy leaving a negative review, but felt it's my duty to inform potential buyers. read more

I ended up buying my mattresses here after visiting every other competitor in Everett and Marysville. This was the first place that was genuinely interested in helping me find a correct bed. There was no pressure for me to buy. I was shown lots of different beds and laid on many of them. Found a couple I liked. Was quoted prices. Ended up leaving that night(after he was kind enough to stay open past closing.). I had more comparison shopping to do. The next day after visiting 3 more stores I found myself back at Mattress City to purchase my new mattresses. They order was put in and 4 days later(including a holiday) I had my mattresses. Also same day delivering is nice. Also free bed recycling. Beds are donated to the northwest furnature bank. I would urge anyone in the market for a new bed to stop by. They're awkward, is all. Plodding, painfully earnest locally businesses like this have a tough time with the 24 hour snark cycle. Having made the rounds to Mattress Depot and Sleep County, we did due diligence to stop in here. We filled out their "financing" form and got an immediate "approval" for $2500. It's same as cash for 90 days but then morphs into a totally sketch rent to own thing. We found that prices for the same bed were double, triple and quadruple what we'd seen at other stores. There was a lot of justification of this, that other outlets sell used mattresses without marking them as such - the high school age daughter working the floor initially said "You know how they bundle things together? Well, scabies, bed bugs, fleas, ticks -- all that's free." It was a legit squirmy thing to hear. Then we wandered over to her dad, who heard we'd been to Mattress Depot. He railed against them, too, and at the end of his story said, "Well, scabies, bed bugs, fleas, ticks -- all that's free." It was a memorized gambit. So weird. I don't know. I bet it would suck to have to spend your weekends working at your parents' mattress store. It sounds like they give a lot of people a chance to get a mattress when they really need it. They're just terrible sales people and social media is a part of that. read more

He will take old mattresses and sell them as new, promise same day delivery and then not tell you you're getting it that weekend. And then the moment you are done expressing interest in his product, he will tell you'll to screw off and go to goodwill instead. She was very busy with other customers but still took time to help everyone out. We bought a new mattress and a bed frame, plus they paid $200 for our old mattress! As soon as I walked in, I felt judged. I wasn't quite sure why at first so I continued on and began a conversation with the sales woman. I just assumed that I was being overly-sensitive and that everything was good. Not even 5 minutes into our convo she had the nerve to ask "what my job was". Normally, this doesn't bother me, but this time was different. I could tell she was asking me this because I was looking at higher end mattresses. She judged me based off of my age (I'm 27 years old btw) and assumed I could not afford what I was looking at. When I asked for a quote I could take with me, she declined stating "our prices change daily, that won't be possible". It's a mattress, not the fricken stock market! Will never go back, ended up going to Mattress Depot instead. Would leave a 0 star rating if I could. Addition: Now the owner will not stop harassing me via DM's and comments. I can see this behavior towards me is also the same type of negative and childish behavior he has exhibited towards others who review his business negatively. The experience I had genuinely happened, sorry to break it to you. Also, I'm not a mattress sales person from another store?? Are you on something?? Please use some common sense and logic before attempting to defame someones character. I don't care enough about Mattress City or you to take the time to methodically conspire against you, nor would I even think to do that to anyone. I wrote a review that was completely justified and authentic, deal with it. I encourage you to calm down and step back into reality, there isn't a mob of Mattress Firm employees out to get you and your small time mattress business. Stewart also continues to attempt calling me out by telling me to "call him" to have a chat over the phone and that if I don't, that means everything I said was a lie. The answer to that is a resounding NO. I am not going to call him. I would have been willing to do that, but his immediate response to my criticism was lying, slander, and overall hatred toward me. Seeing as Mattress City is a Christian based company and that Stewart is a self-proclaimed Christian, I want to take the time to point out that his behavior doesn't seem very accepting or tolerant. Apparently, the virtue of "love thy neighbor" has its limits with Stewart and his company. He is very clearly very upset from my review, I really do feel bad for him, but telling me I'm basically delusional and have nothing but hate in my heart is not the way to win someone over to your side. Stewart, you are deep in my prayers, I really hope you can get this behavior under control as it is not a good look for your company or for your family name. Good luck in life (you really need it). My husband and I purchased a mattress from Mattess City about 6 months ago. We were very very impressed by the wide selection and customer service. We stopped back a couple times before actually making the purchase, and every time we did, we were amazed at the knowledgeable employees. They were able to explain the differences between each option and point us in the right direction for what we were looking for. They even threw in a wedding present for us (why we were buying the mattress in the first place). So kind. After we bought the mattress, we delayed delivery by a few months, and they were very understanding. They held the mattress for us, and were prompt when we finally had it delivered. My husband said the delivery men were the nicest he has ever worked with, and that is exactly what I would expect from this place! I don't even know where to begin! I have never been more pleased with a sales interaction in my life. (Quick plug- very military friendly!) For starters, going into Mattress City is NOT like going to a similar business. At Mattress City you will be greeted in a warm and personal manner- you aren't just another customer! We had the privilege of speaking with the owner, Stewart and his daughter (family-owned!). We instantly felt welcome, and it was as if we had met a couple of wonderful people and struck up a conversation. They aren't all about the sale, here! Now- onto to the products! They offer a wide selection of mattresses and were MORE than willing to walk us around the store at a leisurely pace- no rushing! (We felt quite rushed at other stores, as if getting to the sale was the most important thing) With each mattress, they suggested different ones based on our opinion, and really honed in on what we were looking for. Emily (the owner's daughter) was just WONDERFUL, and really seemed as excited as I was about finding the perfect mattress- I actually had fun shopping with her! On a side note, you will only get Serta Mattresses here, and for GREAT reason! What the big, corporate companies fail to inform you about the other company's "warranty" policy, is that it will only give you a voucher for 1/2 off a new mattress. Last time I checked, that's not what a warranty is! Stewart was more than willing to explain in a very business-like, unbiased manner the differences between the various company policies well before we even committed to buying a mattress. HUGE bonus points! This family-owned business stood out for us for a big reason- if you choose to have them take your old mattress, they donate it to charities such as homeless shelters and abused women's shelters. The big companies just take your old one to the dump, where it sits useless in a landfill for decades!! Personally, it bothers me to think of perfectly useful things going to such waste and filling up landfills if they don't have to. (Update- I think they'll actually pay you to take your old mattress for donation- not a huge amount, but if you were going to toss it anyway? Profit for a good cause!) All in all- GREAT company, GREAT family- GREAT experience. Definitely recommend as highly as possible for your next mattress purchase. read more

Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by the owner, Stuart. After hearing our needs he was confident he knew what we needed, giving us a quick summary of possible choices, educating us along the way and then let us make our decision. Truly the education was worth the trip even if we did not buy, but we knew this was a family owned business we wanted to support........a little more about the business. Stuart is a Christian man and runs his business on Christian principles. He has worked for many mattress companies as well as Macy's. He knows his competitors and what they offer. He strives to stay above the curve offering fair prices and outstanding, quality service. We are so glad we chose Mattress City and are excited about our new mattress......oh, one more thing, don't try to shop on Sunday. This is his "day of rest." Had a great experience buying a mattress from this place. Stewart (the owner) was very kind and helpful. He answered to all our questions thoroughly and making sure we're fully understand what are differences between one mattress and another. Their price is significantly lower than any other places we've visited. At the end, we ended up getting a very nice king mattress with extra goodies for less than what other store's quoted. Very smoothly transaction..overall, we're very satisfied and definitely the first store we're going to visit if we ever in need to get a new mattress/pillow. I don't know about other people but buying a mattress to me is about as fun as buying a car. NOT FUN... there are so many choices and I can't seem to figure out what is good, bad, high, low... Nick at the Woodinville location was such a big help. Obviously knows what he is talking about, very friendly and made the process super easy. I purchased one day and they delivered the next day for FREE. I found one I liked tagged on sale, checked a couple online prices to make sure it was a fair price and had it delivered the next day. There was a small glitch on my pricing so I had to call the owner in Everett because Nick was off. He quickly corrected the error, which was ultimately my fault it turns out. I just cannot the worst experience i have ever had in my life me and my wife just spent $400 for a queen mattress and the frame so the box spring would not fit up our stairs my wife proceeds to call the place the only illogical answer and solution they could come up with is another $150 for a special box spring they did not even offer to help us in any civilized way knowing we were new customers and new to Everett so now all we have is a mattress and a frame sitting in our bedroom so all they did was reimburse us $40 back so we paid $320+ to still sleep on a air mattress seriously how illogical is that. I Could see paying $50 more but they did not even offer that so we will not ever go to this place again. read more

They (Paul & Kyle) are careful with the mattresses, and set-up quickly, taking all packing materials with them. They called prior to their arrival time and were there within a few minutes. I consider myself a tough customer in the sense that I am paying for a product and I want to be treated right. City Mattress met all expectations. I worked with Emily. Her card reflects that she is the General Manager (she is also the daughter of the owners). She was relational, helpful, and honest. No pushy sales, upgrades, or unnecessary up sales- just an honest product for a good price. My biggest take away was the family values of this place. After what seemed like an endless journey shopping for a mattress and visiting several sleep shops and furniture stores I happened by mattress city. Here I was actually able to speak to the owners ( always get better assistance from owners than employees I have noticed ) they were very informative and concerned with my wants,needs and desire to stay within my budget....after answering some questions they requested that Iie down on a couple beds which they thought would meet my needs...the second bed I tried was exactly what I wanted. My delivery was done the very next day, also my old bed was being donated to a charity....I also received a $200trade in for my old bed....its very encouraging to see a local family owned company behaving in such a professional and responsible mannor within our community. I am confident that Ichoose the right bed for myself...but I still have the option to re-select another bed within 100 days if this one fails to keep me rested....which led me to ask if the bed Iam getting was brand new ? I was informed that they have an outlet store where they sell their comfort return beds..and clearly inform people of the fact it was briefly used....Ifound this interesting as all the other places Ivisited also had an exchange policy,however none of them mentioned how or where those beds go ???
