I never knew I needed a pencil so badly. They carry the Ferris Wheel Press inks and a few others but I can't remember the name. Most of the inks cost the same as they would online but you don't have to pay shipping and you can view the swatches to get a good idea of the color you're buying. What an experience!…read more One of my goals in 2026 was to learn to sew. With that, I obviously need supplies, which includes fabrics. A few friends and I decided to make the trip and stock up on fabrics. When I say this place has everything, I mean it. So many patterns, designs, and types of fabrics. Truthfully it was a bit overwhelming for someone who isn't that into the sewing game. So what I tried to do is get a few things quickly and call it a day. Random note: this is in a large building that really isn't heated/ cooled. When it's hot. It's hot. When it's cold, like the day we were there please bundle up. I froze while I shopped. My favorite area is the discounted remnants. This is a perfect spot for someone like me who is likely to mess up. That way, I've spent less than normal on fabric I'm not as sad if i screwed up on. The fabric is a little pricier than say, Michael's but it seems a lot nicer too. As I get better with my new hobby, I will definitely be back buying up all of the materials.

My only complaint is that it can be hard to navigate the aisle due to all the merchandise, the building has an unpleasant smell, and figuring out the price can be hard. I saw that they host events for people to come in and work on their fiber arts a few times a week so this sold me on visiting! When I stopped in, I was greeted and there was space for me to sit down. I even got some help on my project. It was so nice to be community with people who love the fiber arts for a little while. I look forward to supporting their business since they also ship!

I recently had a private knitting lesson here…read more The instructor begin with telling me the different types of forms yarn comes in, ie. hanks, skeins and balls along with other information about knitting. After the introduction the instructor picked out a wood circular knitting needle for me. The reason for choosing the wood I was told it would help hold the yarn better for a beginner versus a metal needle. When it came time to choose the yarn I was told to make my choice from a small area. I picked a mustard yarn. The next day I received an invoice from the store because I didn't pay for the items. Silly me. I assumed because I was only allowed to pick out from a certain section that it was included with the lesson that I had paid for. Unfortunately, because the yarn I chose was quite small. It has been difficult as a beginner working with it. There have been a lot of starts and stops which I would expect but more so because of the size of the yarn. I have since learned as a beginner I should have a bulkier yarn. When I left that day, I had not gotten the hang of the cast on, or the knit stitch. Five minutes before the class was to end we had just finished casting on and that didn't leave much time for the knitting since the store was opening. Since taking the class I have been able to get the hang of the cast on and the knit stitch thanks to Sheep and Stitch on YouTube. I think the reason I didn't get the hang of it in the store was because of the teaching style. It just didn't mesh with my learning style. I would definitely recommend the classes to anyone here. Very professional staff. Because the yarn I ended up purchasing isn't good for beginners. I did call the store to see if I could exchange it, but I was told they would not accept it because it had already been wound. The staff was very nice. They were very helpful when customers came in.

Prices were a bit high but reasonable given the quality of the goods offered and the fact that, as a crocheted, I felt welcome. I'm 54 and have been crocheting and knitting since childhood.
