    Wings with chips and queso.

This is such a dive! However, a great spot to duck in, sit at the bar and eat some wings. Kid's dad had wings, I had chips and queso. Can't complain. Bartender very nice.

    Rockfish taco and chips

Not the best meal or experience I've had in the DMV. The dining area was practically empty on a Saturday night on Labor Day weekend. The bartender was generous to extend HH pricing to us in the dining area. Chips and salsa came out late, as all of our appetizers and entrees were piece meal delivered. Salsa tasted a day old, not fresh. The rockfish tacos were not cooked correctly and tasted very fishy. All puns intended. My chicken quesadilla ($13) tasted more BBQ flavored than anything. It was accompanied by a spoonful of rice and beans, literally. No one was impressed and agreed it would be our first and last time. Their sign boats best margarita in the states and ironically I could not of disagreed more.

I was hoping to find a real mexican place and it seems like this place would be but I was very disappointed with the food in general. We all orderd steak and our "steak" was 3 thin slices of steak, a spoonful of rice and beans. Maybe the owner should go to a real mexican restaurant just to compare because WOW. I just cannot believe the food here

    Shrimp and chicken fajitas

I ordered the margarita and it was the best I ever had! If you like Guacamole, it is a must here. I had the shrimp and chicken fajitas for my entree and it was absolutely amazing! service was great! I will definitely be back here!

    Beef taco salad

I'm so glad my husband and I decided to check this place out tonight. The food was fantastic, service was consistent and friendly and the atmosphere was clean with nice ambience. It wasn't busy at all when we were there so we had the dining area to ourselves. The bar area which is separate was more crowded but not overwhelmingly so. We ordered the Fiesta wings to start. Best wings I've had in a very long time! They were big, seasoned just right (not too spicy at all) and you get a nice portion for the price. I'd go back just for the wings! My husband ordered the chicken & steak fajitas. Comes with 3 tortillas and a good serving of sides including rice and beans. You can order 3 more tortillas for a dollar. They were very good. I ordered the beef taco salad with a side of guacamole. It's served traditionally in the fried burrito bowl. Best one I've had yet and that's what I always order if a Mexican restaurant has it on the menu. All the ingredients were fresh and crisp. Guac was great too. The owner if the place makes his own sauces too. We tried a couple of them and they were delicious. Not overly spicy which suits our taste but they do have hotter sauces if that's what you prefer. My husband also got their "award winning" margarita, which they try and sell you on right off the bat. It's quite pricey and it doesn't taste any different than any other regular margarita. That would be my only complaint. All in all, I totally recommend this place. Great food at good prices. We will be back!

Ehhh...this place was ok. We're staying in Ocean City for a few days and we were craving Tex-Mex so we decided to try this place out. I guess Matteo's is technically in Fenwick Island but it's literally like 10 minutes from where we're staying at in OC. Now I want to say that I don't really expect much from restaurants in a beach town because 90% of the time the food is average and that's exactly what we got here. As soon as we walked in the first thing we noticed was how dark it was inside. I'm all for dim lighting but it was a little too dark. The hostess was very nice and she let us pick where we wanted to sit. It wasn't really busy when we got there so maybe that's why. Our waiter was nice but just not really attentive. The chips they give you tasted old and the salsa tasted like the canned ones that you get from the store. We ordered the steak fajitas and that came with rice, beans, sour cream, and tortillas. You have to ask for guac just fyi. The fajitas were lacking flavor but I've had worse so no biggie (just add some salt and you'll be fine). The guac and rice were also lacking in the flavor department. The only foods that were nicely seasoned were the beans and rice. The tortillas tasted like those that come from a taco box kit, definitely not restaurant quality. Overall, this place was average. I would check around and read other reviews of other Tex-Mex places before heading here.

The vibes here are immaculate - this is what you imagine when you think coastal taqueria. From the wooden building to the bizarre layout, this is it. You can't go wrong with that! The hot sauces are homemade, the salsa tasted fresh, everything from a condiment perspective was good. Now again was it authentic, no, but come on... If you have to order two things I would get the corn appetizer - it is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in delaware, and then the surf and turf burrito because it is epic! Everything I tried was good. The drink situation could use some help...the margarita was fine, but i really wanted neat mezcal and that was incomprehsible to them to the point that I ended up with a mezcal margarita that had anejo mezcal in it...sad We'll be back!

As soon as we pulled in we noticed the lack of parking, honestly at no fault to the restaurant despite that being a complaint amongst reviews. I popped out and sent my bf on his manly duties to fight for a parking spot while I secured a table. I walked in and was immediately sat along the windows to the left of the hostess table. Granted, we are a party of two which absolutely helped a quick seating. Immediately our waiter greeted me and very kindly offered to either take my drink order or return when my bf arrived. In the middle of that time he dropped a pitcher of water, and rounded back very quickly once my bf was seated. We did a round of drinks and an appetizer to start. Ordering our meals halfway through our app. We stuck to non-alcoholic drinks as it was the back end of our trip (lol), so no review of the cocktails although a reliable source complimented the marg! We ordered the fried brussel sprouts as our app, there was no shortage of bacon nor balsamic glaze and we really enjoyed! For our meals we both ordered the steak fajitas with corn tortillas, and I asked for extra peppers. It ended up being a $2 upcharge however, I feel like I am always shorted veggies when I'm down the beach and they gave quite a generous amount. As for the fajitas/steak, it was very well seasoned and very tender. Ultimately we had enough leftover to take home and throw in a wrap for lunch! For the cost, I felt the portions were quite fair. Overall I think we will absolutely be back. Highlights are the service and the value of the meal. I've had some very awful experiences with restaurants in OC and this place definitely gave me some hope. I would love to come back for their awesome sounding happy hour, as well as to try some tacos!

Wow, thats what I've got for you folks wow…read more Lets start with ambiance, its cute here i loved it. Its a small, quaint little downstairs with more space upstairs. The decor is spot on, just so nice all around! Let's go on to the service. I'm going to shout out Caleb he was great all around very attentive. Answered all my annoying questions haha. Really fantastic. The wait times for food were just right, didn't take too long but didn't rush you. So now for me to talk way too much. OH MY GOD THE FOOD! This is easily the best food I've had in southern delaware. Hands down, full stop. I got a blackened catfish over a red beet salad. The fish was fresh! Yes fresh in February I'm impressed. The blackened seasoning was so good, just spicy enough to make me smile but not too spicy to be unpleasant. Flaky and perfectly cooked I was not disappointed in any way or another. How about the salad? Well, it was a kale salad which I'm not normally a fan of. But the elements of the salad were perfect, the toasted walnuts, the beets, apples, just everything about married in flawless harmony. Even my mother-in-law agreed the kale salad was great. 10/10, 5/5, whatever you want to call it this was an out of the park experience! Drinks, a new addition to my review this week haha. The bar tenders do a "great pour" per my wife and father-in-law. Me, I stick with non-alcoholic and oh man they nailed that too. This is just all good, like whole thing is great. Thank you for an awesome lunch, keep rolling folks!

I will summarize my two most recent family dinners here during the Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends: Marlene took our 5:30 PM dinner reservation over the phone. I was here with my family of nine including two children for Friday night dinner after Thanksgiving day upstairs at a corner table. I started with my spicy margarita for $14. We also shared a bottle of Duckhorn Decoy Brut champagne for $52, which was reduced down to $26 by 50% off due to Friday 50% off on all wine bottles. The Decoy brut champagne was excellent. We also shared and enjoyed the crab dip for $21. We also shared and enjoyed three dozen raw oysters samplers for a total of $81. I also enjoyed my crispy duck confit special with pappardelle, basil pesto, fried onion and garlic chilli vinaigrette for $32. My total bill was $455 excluding gratuity. Morelia C. (nicknamed Mo) served us very well as usual despite us having two children. We first met Mo, when she bartended at the downstairs bar, when we were here prior for many Sunday afternoon happy hours. We returned here again with my larger family of 14 including five children for dinner on the Saturday after Christmas. We had a 5:30 PM dinner reservation. We were again seated immediately upstairs. I started with and enjoyed my two Makers Mark Manhattans up for $15 each. We also shared and enjoyed two dozen raw oysters samplers for $27 per dozen. We also ordered and enjoyed one dozen of the more expensive Raspberry Points for $48. Raspberry Point Oysters are premium, cold-water farmed oysters from Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada, prized for their firm meat, distinct briny flavor with a sweet finish, and deep cups, taking 5-7 years to mature in New London Bay's tidal waters. They're known for being easy to shuck and popular in gourmet settings due to their consistent quality and appealing salty-sweet profile. We also shared the calamari for $17 and the devilled eggs for $19. I also enjoyed my confit lamb shank for $38. Caleb M. served us very well despite us having five children. My total bill was $737 excluding gratuity. Caleb applied our Indian River High School band 10% discount to our bill, which reduced the total from $737 down to $663 excluding gratuity. On Sunday's our favorite bartender is Nick C. Nick said hello, when we visited during the Thanksgiving holiday. We will continue to return here with family and friends for happy hour, lunch or dinner.
