Needed an oil change, tire rotation, and new rear brakes, called on Saturday and they had me out the door Monday afternoon after dropping it off Monday in the morning! In the midst of the snow and trying to get kids car seats changed, a matson staff member came out and brushed all the snow off my windshield and windows, didn't catch his name but remembered him from my last visit for a new set of tires. He sat down and took the time to explain the camber on my rear tire and why it was causing inner wear! He didn't try to sell me anything but explained the problem and gave me the best way of fixing so my next set of tires didn't have the same problem! I really appreciated the extra time he took with me on multiple occasions, and thanks Aaron at the front desk made sure to call me before any major cost repairs were done! read more

My Wife was grocery shopping at the adjacent Petersons grocery store. When she came out, her battery died and wouldn't start the car. It was really cold outside and had the grand baby with her while shopping. She was actually parked within 70' of Matson's entrance. She called me at work and I thought no problem, I'll just call Matson's they will help so I called them. WOW.... not only was the lady that answered the phone really rude as I tried to explain my wife had dead battery and was literally in their parking lot. The "lady" cut me off and said "we don't do that kind of thing" and hung up. I called our go to tire shop a mile away "Tire Pro's" and they said they would get as soon as they could. My wife called me back and said the manager at the grocery store noticed she was having battery issues and worked with a nice customer to jump start her car. I called tire pro's back and even O'rileys auto parts offered to assist as well. WOW... someone in need is literally in Matson's parking lot and was refused service. Too bad, you lost us, my family and our friends as customers and could have also sold a battery. Never will we ever do business again with Matson's!!! read more

These guys are top notch. Seemed honest. Went there for a transmission sensor check and they gave great advice. The job was bigger than I was ready for. They didn't charge me anything for the review and analysis. Can't rate them on any work, but they did say it can get me to the place I needed until I was ready and to keep them in mind. It was a transmission issue that I will have a transmission shop handle. read more

Worthy of no stars- Matson Auto and their sister shop Alex's Autohaus were partners in the most blatant auto repair rip-off I have ever experienced. They cheated me out of nearly $340.00 and wasted 3 hours of my time yesterday. I scheduled an appointment for my Porsche on the Alex's Autohaus website 2-3 weeks ago. I didn't get an appt. confirmation, so after a few days I called. I was informed that my scheduled appointment wouldn't be honored because the online scheduler doesn't work and they are busy. This took nearly a week to find out, and meanwhile I couldn't drive my car. The person I spoke to was very eager to recommended their sister shop, Matson Auto. She told me that they are very capable of diagnosing and repairing any issues I may have. She assured me that they would do a great job, and they could get me in sooner. So, I called Matson Auto to set up an appointment. I told them very clearly that my car needed inner tie rod ends and the passenger window regulator replaced. I also asked them to assess the air/oil separator, install tire pressure sensors, check the service light, and complete an emissions test so I can get the license renewed. They said they could handle it all if I drop it off, so I did. After about an hour, I got a call from someone who admitted he didn't know what he was looking at in the engine compartment, but would, "keep looking around" and call me back. A little while later I got a call informing me that they couldn't do anything to repair any of the identified issues with my car. They said this was because they couldn't find the parts; the parts like inner tie rod ends and a window regulator- the same parts I instructed them to replace, the very same parts that should have been ordered 2 weeks ago. They said I have an aftermarket intake manifold and they can't fix the air/oil separator- it is possible to work on car with aftermarket parts, but that isn't even why I brought it in. Since they couldn't bill me for any parts, they refused to complete any of the other work to my car. The tire pressure sensors were not installed, the service light was not addressed, air/oil issue continues, and no emissions test was completed. The window doesn't go all the way up, so I can't drive it due to rain and filthy, stinking thieves. All of this, and Matson Auto still had the nerve to demand $300.00 while providing nothing in return. They attempted to justify this as "diagnosing" the problems. There was no need to diagnose anything since I told them exactly what needed to be replaced two weeks ago. They failed to order the replacement parts and they have provided me with absolutely nothing of value. They must have thought the local parts store has OEM Porsche parts just lying around, and they could pick something up and triple the price. To me, this proves they have no knowledge or experience with foreign sport/luxury autos. It is, after all, just a tire shop that proved it isn't capable of performing the most basic of repairs. It also proves Alex's Autohaus is not trustworthy and very likely involved in fraudulent and criminal activity. I gained exactly nothing from this experience while these two "sister shops" get to share my money. The bill was just under $300, and I paid Uber $20.00 for transportation each way ($340.00 total). Alex's Autohaus and Matson Auto robbed me just like the thieves they proved to be. Unfortunately, we live in a world where they don't have to be accountable, but I do plan to tell this story to every single member of the Porsche groups I belong to, and I'll leave it available for all the groups I don't belong to including Facebook, Google, BBB, Yelp, PCA, Rennlist, Flat sixes, Pelican parts, Planet-9, etc. I hope these pigs choke on that money. I really hate filthy, stinking thieves. read more

I only take my boat here for service; I have to drive halfway across the valley to get to them, but it is worth it. I've found it difficult to get the same level of service on my boat as I can find lots of places on my cars. The boat dealer service was way overpriced and they didn't seem to care about anything. Matson does a great job with my boat and communicates well before, during and after repairs. Twice I've called Mike Matson when my boat had trouble while on the lake and he helped me get things moving again. read more

Ok, the story. My girlfriend took her car here because it is close to her house. They told her $45 to run diagnostics, then they will put that $45 towards repairs if we choose to use them. They ran the diagnostics and came back with a total of $543. We decided to shop around and found Labrum automotive could do the same thing for under $400. So we took it there. After they looked at the car they told us that the diagnostics from Matson Auto's were false, they were trying to charge us for things we didn't need. Labrum repaired the car, after finding what the real problem was, it has been running great now, and the total cost was $202! Saving over $300, don't mind if I do! Matson still charged us $62, for diagnostics and coolant (which was just topped off, so I don't know why they feel they needed to add more), but that is a small price to pay to find a good honest Auto shop like Labrum. I returned to Matson to show them the better service I received as well as the accurate diagnostics and charges, and also asked for a refund on the diagnostics charge, since it was inaccurate. The manager told us that they are in the business of making money, that they're diagnostic was as right as they could tell, and refused to refund any money. BE WARNED, they are looking to make money, and will charge ridiculous fees and make any repair they can to do so. read more

Its hard to find a company that will work on old cars but Matson always "steps up" helps me out. The struts and ball joints on the front end of my 1999 Subaru Legacy Wagon were severely worn out. The car could not take even the slightest pothole without a lot of shaking and "stress" noise. Matson changed out my front struts and front wheel ball joints on Sat., Sept 8. They even did the emission test for me and registered the car for another year. Car has been much easier to handle now on the road and can go the speed limit without shaking. Thank you Matson for letting me get another year out of my 1999 Subaru. read more

Stay far away, and don't believe the "good" reviews. These guys hosed us hard in our repair. Charging $112 for a $6-$30 part, I understand that you will always pay more when you get it fixed by someone else but don't lie in the invoice and take advantage of people who don't know how to fix vehicles. Technician in this store is extremely unprofessional and shady, even insulted me during a simple oil change and tire rotation. The oil change GROUPON I used included tire rotation and I had specifically told the supervisor there I need the tire rotation and oil change together beforehand. When my car was done I found my marked rear tire is still in the same old place. I asked the the Tech who did the job nicely why my car's tire haven't been rotated. To my surprise, he insisted he did rotate the tire. What a LIER! Only after I showed them the mark on my tire then he went back and rotated it. What really pissed me is the Tech even insulted me !!! My wife over heard the Tech's talk with his supervisor at the counter when he took my car's key back at the second time, he said something "....piece...of....ass...."! My wife only told me this afterward since she is such a sweet person and didn't want to cause any trouble. Otherwise I just can't imagine if I had knew it on the spot what could have happened. From the start till the end , nobody apologized what had happened to me. None. I had filed this shop as a crooked business to GROUPON and now I leave comment here in Yelp to let more people know. read more

I've been in the construction business for a long time, so I've seen my fair share of vehicle repairs over the years. Several of the Yelp reviews hammer on Matson pretty hard, but I'm not seeing it. Matson replaced the rear wheel bearings on my truck, as well as did a few other small service/repairs. Personally, I think they did a great job. My truck rides smoother than it has in years! I don't know if the pricing was the cheapest, but it seemed fair. They performed a few other small repairs at a discount, plus they threw in a few other small things. Regardless, my experience was positive. read more

BEWARE!! I went in for a simple set of tires and an alignment. It took 4 trips and cost me unpaid time at work to get the correct size tire and to fix the damage they did to my wheels. When I went in on the first trip (Saturday) that I made an appointment to get 4 warranty replacement tires I told the manager that I did not want any new employees working on my vehicle, I am very particular about my vehicles. He said there were no new employees working there. After getting my car and driving home I looked at the paperwork and my car to realize they had put the completely wrong size tire on. I called the manager and he said he would get the right size and have them ready to put on Monday after I get off work. Second trip on Monday after finishing the reinstall of tires, put my car in between 2 vehicles very close to my car. I glanced at the tire size and thought I had the right size so I left and went to a store and after getting out of my car and stepping back I found that the tech had gouged all four wheels all the way around while installing my tires and I also noticed again the wrong size tires!! I called and told them and said I could bring it back to show the damage but they were leaving for the night so I said I would be there the next day after work. After heading home I was driving about 45 mph and the steering wheel started shaking and at 55 mph I had to hang on with all my strength. I pulled over and checked all the wheels to make sure the were on tight, yes they were so the tires were so out of balance that I couldn't drive to work the next day that way. Third trip was the next morning (Tuesday) I was at their door when they opened. The manager told another employee that whomever did the damage to my car will be fired for what they did. Come to find out the employee was NEW and I was promised no one new would touch my car. I sat there for 2 1/2 hours while they drove somewhere else to get the correct size tire and then I find out they are polishing my wheels without my permission. I was never asked what I would like them to do to fix my wheels. They burnt my wheel in a spot and I can still see the damage done to my wheels. Then they try to tell me my wheel was bent. NO it wasn't and has never been bent so when I said show me, the story changed on that excuse. I left to go to work and discovered that the wheels are out of balance AGAIN. Fourth and final trip in (Saturday) I told the manager he is the only one that will touch my car and if he can't fix it I will take to someone who can and he will be billed for it. Over an hour and finally get my car and leave. I will never return to this place!!! I have worked with cars for over 30 years and have never seen this bad of work in my life. So I went to a little emissions inspection shop and they said for me to pass my car needed new brakes. I took my car to Matson, as it is very close to my house. Their prices didn't seem the cheapest, but were comparable, and they had all the prices posted so I knew what to expect. They performed the service as requested, told me I needed new tires (very not true, just because I am a woman does not mean I do not know cars and can be taken advantage of), then charged me $25 for shop towels used. Seriously?! First, shouldn't your board that shows the price I will pay already have this included. Second, these towels aren't more than $5 at any auto shop store! Needless to say I paid for the repair and will not be returning! The workers their were rude, inconsiderate, and I don't see how they could possibly have return customers. read more

Took my car into this place, did a few "fixes" and they still could not give me a straight up answer as to why my engine light wouldn't go off. Not to mention one of the technicians got upset that I had taken my car to another place to see what they could do. Waste of my time and money. read more
