Matilda's is an excellent food truck, located (every time we've gone, at least) in southeast Visalia. They've got all the usuals (burrrritooos, tacos, quesadillas, etc.), and they're really good. In this visit, we enjoyed a wet burrrritoooo, two tacos, and a quesadilla. Everything was delicious, the food was prepared quickly, and the prices are super cheap for what you get. Always a delicious meal when we visit Matilda's. read more

I really enjoy this taco spot. Their food is delicious. I am a HUGE fan of their Al Pastor ANYTHING and they have delicious salsa as well. We ordered tacos de asada and tacos al pastor. Absolutely delicious. I also ordered a al pastor burrito with everything and a cheese/jalapeño tamale. The burrito was delicious and humongous. I was not a fan of the tamale. It almost had a rubbery texture (I assume the queso was cooked too long) and it was mainly masa. I typically don't like a lot of masa in my filling tamales and I just overall wasn't a fan. However, That was just a side item and everything else I've ever had from there was always spot on. (They would come twice a week to our local hospital at night for the NOC shift so we could order food and we would take advantage. And we all were obsessed). In my opinion they are worth 5 stars. . read more

OK so here I go with another one of my reviews. I've been trying a lot of different places lately, so let's get to it with my review on Matilda's. So I ordered some tacos de al pastor and a queso taco and a burrito de asada. So my tacos were alright, but the burrito was really good!!! I asked if Jose who is the owner by the way if he could grill my burrito and of course he did,and was that much better well to me eneways. It wasn't busy so I got my comida pretty fast. The owner Jose was really polite and very professional also. I would definitely recommend this place to try out!!! read more

This Taco Truck is my families favorite! My only concern when I visit is that the food be fresh. On a couple of occasions I can tell it's leftovers and not fresh. read more

They came by one evening at Kaweah Health and I've heard nothing but good things from my co-workers about this food truck. Then again when compared to the cafeteria food, anything is better. Menu is pretty easy to understand. Majority of tacos are $2.50 with burritos around $10. With some of the other meats such as lengua, it's an additional dollar for their tacos and like 3 bucks for their burritos. The tacos are really small. They are like the street tacos you would find in L.A. about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Flavors though were so so. Kind of bland. I ordered their lengua and al pastor tacos. And it tasted all the same to me. Even with their green sauce and their red sauce. It all tasted the same. I wondered if I had covid because even squeezing all the lemon on top, it was just so so. Yea it's better than the cafeteria food, but not by much. And $2.50 for a small street taco with bland flavors I might just goto the cafeteria next time, at least it's cheaper there, which is saying a lot. read more

Love their food their carne asada is the best compared to others taco trucks, also few months ago I left my brand new iPhone on a table they had outside for customers to eat and when I called it the taco guy answered my phone and held it for me until I went back to get it!! I appreciated that so much they are honest people good food, great customer service and honest people!! Doesn't get any better than this read more

Love the taco truck on Caldwell and lovers lane. The campachana is my favorite and the asada as well!

Randomly stopped at this taco truck. I have been on the search for a taco truck I can call home. No luck so far. I ordered 3-4 tacos and it took them near 30 mins and mind you only one person was in front of me. Not busy at all. I kept walking up to the front to check on my order. I was really hoping it was worth the wait at least sheesh! Nope. Not even close. Not only were these tacos wayyyyy over priced. Okay when I ordered and saw the price I thought okay they are normal taco size. No the were those tiny street tacos size! I was surprised and yeah I felt ripped off. Biting into a over priced small taco I thought at least let it be expensive delicious then! No. They were just okay. The salsa wasn't bad though so that's why I give them two stars. But I'm not here for the salsa. read more

Matilda's is moving locations on May 1st to Mooney and Visalia Rd, where Big Bubba's use to be! Being the first customer in line is not always the greatest. I had to wait 40mins + to get my food. I ordered one asada burrito and 6 al pastor tacos. Using your debit or credit costs a fee -- so bring CASH. The owners are super nice and down-to-earth so be nice! read more

I found this truck searching for good tacos on yelp and I'm glad I found one I really liked. So far I've only been going for their al pastor and tinga tacos.....do not leave without the hot sauce....Its sooooo good. I drench one taco with their red sauce and holy smokes I'm just immediately addicted. Like I said, do not leave without the sauce. It is the fire that lights up those bomb ass tacos. Also the owners are really kind. I haven't had any bad experiences when I go there. I had 10 frikin tacos from there today and now I need to take a nap. I'm obviously going back tomorrow. read more

We ordered a veggie burrito (which isn't listed on the menu) and a chicken burrito @ $8 each - plus a cheese/jalapeño tamale and chicken tamale @ $2 each. Everything was DELICIOUS. Prices are super fair. Doused everything in their green salsa which is to die for. Best taco truck around. Also, scope the attached photo to see just how massive the burritos are. read more

I love this taco spot. The taco meat isn't full of fat or grease, and the shredded cabbage/cilantro always looks fresh. The aguas frescas are delicious, but a bit pricey. The red salsa is spicy and the green salsa is mild, both combined add good flavor. read more

Really good tacos Campechano has a lot of flavor. They seem to move around a lot so far I've found them at the corner or Mooney and Caldwell at Valero and at the corner of Mooney and walnut next to flyers, really good food if you can find them , so last I heard they are now located south on money blvd where bunba bbq used to be. 9-19-19 update they now have a permanent location down money past Visalia road where bubbas bbq was located. read more

This is my new asada burrito spot for sure. Service was amazing. Definitely going to be coming back here again.

they have amazing tacos with multiple sauces to choose from! i love the burritos! great food

I can't say enough about this place. Raul is so friendly which adds to the experience. Their tinga (chicken with tons of flavor), asada and pastor are all excellent. Tamales are wonderful. Best I've had so far since moving to Visalia, and have had plenty of homemade Mexican food to compare to. Even their hot sauce and tortillas are amazing! Ridiculous! Their location is usually on Lover's lane south of Walnut. read more

I'm not sure how this place is rated so high. I tried the carne asada tacos, chorizo tacos, tinga tacos, and the cheese and jalapeño tamale. The taco meats were skimpy and none of the meats had a standout flavor. Very bland carne asada and chorizo. The cheese tamale crumbled apart as soon as I opened it, had just a sliver of jalapeño, and I'm not sure what kind of cheese was used. The cheese was orange, blended into the masa, and squeaked as I chewed it. I would not eat here again. And the only reason it got 2 stars was because my wife did like the tinga tacos. In addition to all of that, none of the employees were practicing any COVID precautions. No masks, no social distancing, no hand sanitizer anywhere...Not that I'm a stickler for those things but I do appreciate the restaurants that go out of their way to be safe and make me feel safe. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem. Some of the best tacos I've eaten. Great portions and the meat is so good. Prices are very fair. The gentleman who takes the orders is a great man also! Do your self a favor and try it! read more

After 5-6 not very impressive visits, by mainly rude staff who went as far as to yell at our youngest daughter for grabbing a lemon out of the station, we got undercooked meat in our burritos. We get it, things happen. We brought them back to show them and they were terribly rude to my wife. I got involved because this behavior was completely unacceptable. When we left a review, they proceeded to leave a review on my boss' business. I can't believe how they treat people. Our friends have a similar story minus the review situation. Very poor read more

I've actually never given a 1 star review, and technically this may get deleted since I'm not able to review the food. We drove over just now (it's almost 4pm on a Saturday) and it states they're open til 11pm, but this address has nothing outside. Like, nothing. We drove around twice because we thought maybe we missed it. I guess they may want to update that this address can change? I don't know, but if you don't have a set location, maybe post that? Sorry, we tried to patronize your business read more

Ate from this truck during an event that my friend and I had a booth at. I ordered the campechano tacos, which is carne asada and chorizo. They were amazing. Easily the best tacos I've had bar none! The habanero salsa was so spicy and very flavorful. The man taking orders is also very friendly and personable. It's only been 24 hours since I've eaten their tacos and I'm already craving them with intensity. Check this place out. You'll not be sorry, pinky promise! read more

After spending a day at sequoia, we were definitely in the mood for some good street tacos. Was able to find this place and thankfully did not close early like the rest of the town. BOMB ASS TACOS!! Loved the flavor of the tacos... Not greasy nor flavorless...just perfect. Tacos de caveza were as you would want them to taste like. Their salsas are good too. Ordered agua fresca de pina (pineapple water) and it was refreshing... Not super sweet just perfect. They are only open Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. So worth the drive and will be back again. *** they dont sell sodas only jarritos and aguas frescas... So if u want a coke with ur tacos gotta go in to the gas station and buy one... Not sure if its bc they ran out or they just dont carry them. Good service and affordable great food! read more
