Asked if this was new development and the lady at the counter said it's all up in the air and there was no chicken yesterday. Due to religious reasons, I can't eat any other meat and they have no vegetarian options like nopales, so I got a cheese quesadilla that I ended up throwing half away because it would have definitely clogged my arteries with all the oil and cheese stuffed in there. It also lacked taste. Rice was mediocre - required lots of salsa to be edible. We came in before the lunch rush, but watched as they called out numbers and the customers would be confused because they had no numbers. Asked for a cup of water and was told we'd have to buy a water bottle. And ambiance has changed as the tables are now adjacent to the truck with music blasting on your ear. Bathroom still clean. But just feeling let down.

So, I had high hopes for this place, but overall it was a bit of a letdown. I ordered 8 tacos (6…read moreasada, 1 chorizo, 1 chicharrón), 1 burrito, and 1 crunchy asada taco. The asada tacos actually had decent flavor -- although the meat was a little on the salty side. Not a deal breaker, but noticeable. The chorizo taco? Honestly, tasted just like the kind you buy at any grocery store and cook at home -- nothing special at all. I was hoping for that rich, house-made taste, but nope. The chicharrón taco was probably the most disappointing -- it was basically a cuerito taco. No real meat, just soft skin, so not what I was expecting. But what really killed the experience for me was the salsa situation. They gave me just two small containers of salsa for everything. The red one was tasty, and the green one was basic but good -- but come on, two little salsas for 8 tacos and a burrito? No limes, no radishes, nothing to help bring the tacos together. We ended up trying to ration the salsa, and without enough, the tacos felt dry. Everyone knows a taco needs to have that salsa dripping down and a good squeeze of lime to really come alive -- otherwise, it's just meat on a tortilla. I'm giving it 3 stars because the asada tacos had potential. But the overall execution, especially the lack of salsa and sides, really brought the meal down. Probably won't be rushing back.

The meat was charred and chopped finely so it was crispy & tender. The crinkle cut fries were a pleasant surprise because they were thin and crispy and seasoned enough that it worked well with the meat and cheese. Which they did put a generous amount of cheese too! The guac was a little on the over powering side, I'm not a fan of chunks of tomatoes in guacamole, so I could have done without that but overall I can't wait to visit family again to try other items on the menu!

I'm actually glad about that, because I found this little gem instead. Nothing fancy, but authentic, and great food. The person that helped me was very friendly. I had a lengua, (tongue) and a Cabeza, (head) taco. I brought them back to my hotel, and they were amazing. So much flavor. The lengua, had a little bit of a "chew", as lengua does, and the Cabeza was just so amazingly rich and tender. I asked for just a little bit of salsa, and they had just a tiny bit of heat to them. They were generous with the fillings, and I really liked the white corn tortilla The cilantro and the onion provided a nice pop of freshness. He also gave me some lemon to squeeze on the tacos, which just added to the flavor. I also had a Horchata, and it was rich and creamy, and it had just the right amount of cinnamon. It was not watered down like I have gotten at other places. The price was reasonable. Thank you for a great midnight snack.
